But overall, the PS1 was a WAY better system than the N64.

No shit sherlock. The N64 did a lot of things right too, the design of the console brings a lot of good ideas for the future generations.

The games? There are the classics that have aged bad or are still playable like Sin and Punishment, but that depends on the game really. Also, is kinda curious that the design of the N64 was because of Super Mario 64 and what Nintendo wanted to achieve with that game.

Ah, Final Fantasy X... I remember seeing this game for the first time, it left a lot of gamers with the O face for weeks. The first hours of the game are pretty damn good too. I've never finished the game though but I watched the ending on YouTube just because I had forgotten what to do in last save file I left.

After playing the game for a long time, I was unable to go back and finish this "cinematic experience with a battle system" (yeah, that's what Final Fantasy X is for me). Overall, I just remember this from the game: Great battle system, great soundtrack, I hate Blitzball a lot more than Final Fantasy VIII, Lulu's boobs are beyond awesome and his design is ridiculous, I want to be like Auron when I get older, Seymour was a compelling antagonist in theory, the story could have been better and HAHAHA!! (the Japanese scene is even more awkward than the one we got, amazing stuff).

...oh yeah and the Thunder Plains! What an awesome place. That's one of the few times that I enjoyed grinding in an RPG (I grind like a motherfucker in MegaTen games though, so addicting). Really, is not a bad game, but it left me with a bad impression over the years. Like, they have all this good ideas that worked well and all in the game (at that time anyway) but there was so much more potential for a more exciting story and what not.

But eh, later I played X-2 and I enjoyed that game a lot more that Final Fantasy X. At that time, I was just pleased about the fast-paced battle system. Everything else was stupid or annoying, but for some weird reason the story makes sense in that game.

After that, I stopped playing Final Fantasy games (I wonder why /sarcasm). Versus XIII, you are the last hope for Square Enix.

And the greatest game ever made ff7

Pffffffff...hahaha.  This is the funniest thing I've read all week.

"...quite possibly the greatest game ever made".

I still think that people take this thing seriously.

PS3 is worth it for better the wide options and extras, IMO.

Agree, I would be bored as hell with a Wii or a 360. But I'm not going to lie I want some of the exclusives from the 360 like Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga or the Case Zero of Dead Rising 2.

The designs have been hit and miss with me. I like Maya, but I agree on the heart boobs being tacky.

Tacky? I don't know, I always thought that it was a "cute" thing about the design.

Mara is kinda tacky, no doubt about it.
5423  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Keiji Inafune (Megaman, Dead Rising) leaves Capcom on: October 29, 2010, 12:50:56 PM

Good luck to him! I know he can do better than Lost Planet 2. He achieved to sell like 5 million copies of RE5 with his team, he just needs a good project.

Except that two of those games are very, very clearly marketed at the west, and have very little Eastern developmental influence.

And there's nothing wrong with that, gaming has changed a lot in the last few years after all.
5424  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Keiji Inafune (Megaman, Dead Rising) leaves Capcom on: October 29, 2010, 12:26:35 PM
The reason is that people want them. If there's no reason to make them, then I have no more reason to buy any Capcom games.

Well, I guess I never going to understand the fact that people wants a new Breath of Fire game. Yeah, the last three games were something special but right now I doubt that Capcom have the balls to do an RPG.

But I've been wrong in the past, so I'm ready to eat my words if they do another BoF game.

Fortunately, Inafune didn`t get to fuck it up with his "westernizing" BS.

But what about Dead Rising, DmC, Bionic Commando (2009) and Dark Void? Those game are (or were) aiming for the west. Two of this games received bad reception in the market, and DmC it going to have a hard time selling 5 millions copies but at least the Dead Rising game are decent (thanks to Inafune and some good business decisions from what I've read).

Not to mention that Dead Rising 2 have sold 2 million copies now, too bad that Inafune isn't going to be involve in the sequel (if Capcom plans to do one anyway).

I never understood why he felt that westernizing Japanese was the only viable way to save the Japanese gaming industry. It makes me some what curious...

He has been 23 years making games, sooner or later a guy like him is going to see something that put his passion to test... and making games is no easy job most of the time.

And I always been against his westernization thing, mostly because Platinum Games alone demonstrated to the world that you can still make a "Japanese game" without throwing the Japanese flavor out of the window. There's something for everyone to enjoy in Vanquish, Bayonetta or MadWorld.

And seriously, if I want to play a western game I go and buy Red Dead Redemption, Call of Duty 4 or Fallout 3 in my store without a problem.
5425  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Persona 2 IS Remake on: October 29, 2010, 10:37:41 AM
this game going to compilate the two (Innocent and [argh, brain fart] the other one) Personas??

Nope. Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment are going to be sold separately. They wanted to put the two games in one UMD or something... but, they couldn't do it.

Still, is better for Atlus to make more money this way anyway.
5426  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Keiji Inafune (Megaman, Dead Rising) leaves Capcom on: October 29, 2010, 10:28:12 AM
There's no reason for Capcom to make a BoF or Onimusha game now. They could work in a Breath of Fire VI for the 3DS though, but the IP is not too strong to make big number likes Capcom wants with every game they make and publish.

Watching the development of the new Mega Man games is goin to be fun, especially Legends 3 being a game for the fans and all that.

Also, FUSION THREAD, GO!
5427  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Keiji Inafune leaves Capcom. on: October 29, 2010, 09:22:29 AM
Mega Man's Creator Quits Capcom.
Keiji Inafune Resigns From Capcom.
Inafune Keiji resigns and leaves Capcom at the end of this month.

Until he finally did the right choice of leaving Capcom! I wonder what holds the future for Capcom? There's still talented guys in the company though but that doesn't stop me from being worried.

Also, why you guys didn't vote for his design for Legends 3? Now he's pisses. :(

But seriously, thanks for everything man. You did the childhood of many people around the world better with your games. I know he will not read this, but it must be said.

5430  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The 3rd Birthday on: October 26, 2010, 11:05:09 PM
The 3rd Birthday is going to have a theme song by some J-rock artist by the name of Superfly. The name of the song? Eyes On Me.

That's just cute Square Enix. But anyway, this is the reason for a theme song in the game:

Quote
Superfly’s overwhelming vocals caught Square Enix’s attention. The publisher thought this fits how Aya’s bouts with enemies are tied to the fate of the world.

Yeah, whatever. Just release the damn game guys, is annoying that a company announce their games with a 3 year wait for their big titles (source Siliconera).
