So I'm assuming the DS remakes didn't do too well..?
Bad news, but I still feel glad that they're at least still actually making new games in the series. Hopefully the next one will be on the 3ds or Vita..

Got a PSN card over the holidays and not sure what to get any suggestions fellow gamers? I have Chrono Cross and have considered FFV, VI and was also looking for a really good strategy game. Tactics Ogre and Jeanne de arc is still pretty expensive $20or more while the physical copies are only $10 or $15 in the store. I have all the Ys titles and Lunar but don't know what else to get. I really have been away from the game scene the last couple of years with only short visits here and there.
If you haven't spent your credit yet, you might want to get Vanguard Bandits. It's an old PS1 SRPG that was brought out by Working Designs. I'm midway into it so far, but I'm liking it a lot.

@beach1: I'm glad I helped. :) Unfortunately I had to do it old school since the game was so new. No guides for me ;_;
I can't imagine... :( I'm seriously grateful for the sacrifices you have made for others.... ;_;

Stay at his side, inbetween his legs. His bubbles and volcano power thing won't hit you from there. When he turns round to face you, don't move at all. If you move his claws will hit you. Now that he his facing you, you can attack him 6 times (Which is two knock backs), rinse repeat.
I spent....an entire day doing that boss. Personally, I found him the hardest in the game.
Thank you so much for this!

I pretty much suspected that we'd never see a Suikoden game again under the same team as the older ones, but I never knew it was this bad.. Oh well.. It's very sad news, but even if a company had some members of the old team, it still wouldn't guarantee that newer games in the series would be as good as the older ones (like with SNKP and the newer King of Fighter games..) ;_;

I'll probably skip this one since I'm wary of the gameplay, and if that aspect sucks, to me, nothing else matters.
You should try the demo at least. I'm loving the gameplay a lot more than I first gave it credit for. At first it seemed just ok to me, but once I started getting more comfortable with the controls, I'm realizing how fun and good the gameplay is (provided you have a gamepad that you can use with it.)

I thought Grandia 1 was amazing how it pulled off some phenomenal 3-d graphics from the Saturn, which was generally considered weaker at 3-d than the PSX. Yet even with downgraded graphics in the PSX version it was still one of the most visually attractive and impressive 3-d rpgs on the PSX, I thought.

I made it farther last night and beat the first boss. I'm starting to really like this game. It's getting very fun and I'm really liking the cute, moe artwork. :) Glad I bought it.
