Thanks for posting.  After the school yard story of VCII, I think this will be a refreshing return to something a little more serious IMHO.

The only time I felt anything for Zidane is when he "snapped."  And don't even get me started on Kuja.

I liked IX overall.. a lot, BUT I think Zidane is one of the weakest characters in the whole series in terms of personality and development.  Plus, I didn't know he was a boy until a couple hours in!?!  I only started to get attached to him by the way he treats "Dagger".

I haven't gotten around to 2 yet, other than the demo.  I suppose I'm in the 'better than nothing' camp but would have liked it better on PS3.

I actually thought some of the smaller maps and village combat in the first was more fun than the larger maps.

At some point play FF IV (called II in the USA).  Going back that far gets more difficult and requires more trial and error, or a good walkthrough, but I believe that every RPG fan should play it.  I think it really set a standard for the series and RPGs as a whole.  It's not easy but not impossible either.

I watched some video reviews now. I gotta admit it does look quite enjoyable. I just ordered Atelier Rorona because I'm looking for something more relaxing and this one could be another good opton.

Rune Factory Frontier was relaxing in terms of the farming and dating parts, but it could also get really intense in the dungeons, and especially on Whale Island.  Some of the best crops take months of in-game time to grow, and you need to really dedicate a lot of time to that game to get a lot out of it.  The boss battles get pretty hard.  Plus, I never needed so much help in any game ever in terms of knowing what to do to when.  That said, it's one of my favorite games on any console.  Kross was great!

I hated when he disappeared.
So, yeah, I'm psyched about Oceans!

I've only got a Wii for now but want to get a PS3 based on the JRPGs that are out now and forthcoming.   I've never played a Tales game before but sounds like something I'd like!
