1111  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: NIS Taint Doing So Well on: August 09, 2010, 11:25:53 PM
this company needs to stop doing crossovers immediately

It's not NIS that does crossovers, it's Idea Factory.  They just let Idea Factory use their character and sometimes have "creative input."  For example, they wrote the Kanata story in Trinity Universe.

but it does have its name attached to some infamously "bad" games (including several crossovers) and people often associate companies with games that get significantly bad reception.

1113  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Would you like to see a comeback for the SaGa series? on: August 08, 2010, 06:56:48 PM
that would be a good chance for me to try that series, and I'd love to give it a chance since I still haven't played any of those games

glorified game of rock paper scissors

that makes me think of this one game that glorified rock paper scissors and almost did it too well.

... We're RPGFan's biggest up and coming couple/trolling duo.

Did someone say Troll?

that would be a perfect ringtone~
@Dennis: I think you're actually my favorite of the podcast people because we both "like everything" in terms of games, as Rob says about you
actually, i should really go back to that podcast thing soon

first one was adorable and I love that poodle interpretation of Cerberus (3-headed dog), and it has a katamari so it wins.
second was hard to follow but it has excellent music :D

worst games for me were Orphen and Summoner
those stand out to me as being the only truly "bad" games I've really played and thankfully haven't played any awful ones since those.

Out of all the things this game did wrong, this was its worst crime.

that was almost worse than this boxart disaster

I probably spend more time reading/talking about games than playing them

HEY, ME TOO
so we both fuck up at gaming.
about me:
I believe wicker chairs are very important in modern society and Duck Tales has subliminal messages about setting curtains on fire.
1122  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: My tastes in RPG's have really changed. on: August 04, 2010, 12:06:13 PM
Sometimes it's like with food.  Let's say your favorite food is pizza.  If you eat it every day, you will eventually get tired of it.  So you take a break from pizza and how long till you get the taste for it back again varies with the person.

I can relate to that.
that happens to me almost every time I find a new food I like/love, similar to pron~
if one views a lot of porn within a short amount of time, it gets old and boring
1123  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: most unappreciated RPGs? on: August 04, 2010, 11:16:53 AM
SO3 has too many too many undeveloped characters (best example of this would be Adray).
also, if I use certain attacks with a lot of hits (gravity bullet, fists of fury) and an enemy guards just as it's being done, it slows down to a ridiculous amount of frames per second.
and leveling up is too much of a pain since that battle gauge thing only fills up around enemies at an "appropriate level" and experience/money rewarded in battle are too minimal
it needs a real world map because going from area to area is unbelievably tedious
finally, opening menus and going into battle randomly take up to a whole minute

can marvelous afford to pay all those famous composers?
I hope it brings back that band from the first one.

this thread makes it sound like something that would force me to destroy everything in sight because it's so frustrating.
