1231  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: if you could make or produce any game(s) you want on: June 21, 2010, 08:02:03 PM
I don't really understand this question.  If I was going to make a game then of course it would be something original. Even if there are games out there that I would like to see sequels to, I would like to see those sequels made by the original creators, not me. And besides, I have plenty of my own ideas.

by remake, I meant have any game at all be fixed if maybe you think it's something everyone should play.
sometimes, games become really obscure quickly without getting popular but if it deserves to be popular or even legendary
a lot of games I like have a lot of problems and some are extremely close to being perfect but don't quite reach that potential

1234  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: RPG with button clicking on: June 20, 2010, 02:11:09 PM
you mean button mashing?
would shadow hearts be classified as that?
or do you mean precise button pressing?
if so, I'd recommend legend of dragoon
though it's a little too unforgiving with timing
and you mean button mashing, try any action/real time rpg's
star ocean, tales, kingdom hearts
but you're probably familiar with those already

Doubtful. When you oversaturate a market the way NB has with its yearly mothership title releases, you end up alienating fans. Plus, the move to port Vesperia with bonuses to the PS3 did not engender any endearment towards them from either Japanese gamers, most of whom bought a 360 to play the 'exclusive,' or 360 owners who didn't expect their version of Vesperia to turn out inadequate. They probably planned to capture a wider audience with a Wii release, but the Vesperia port coupled with other ports they've done in the past (such as the Symphonia GameCube to PS2 one) probably made a lot of gamers expectant that they would port Graces to the 360/PS3.

I've been hoping for quite a while that vesperia port would be released in north america.
I've almost completely forgotten about tales as a series instead of just those three that i have and it's deeply depressing

I want to make Okage 2.... *sniff*

aw damn, that reminds me i still haven't played okage
and I saw it in really good condition a while ago for about $10
1237  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Nomura would like to make a First-person shooter (with belts and zippers). on: June 16, 2010, 08:45:04 AM
fps games make me really disoriented
but third person shooting is good so I'd probably play it only if it has an option for third person
1238  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: E3 2010 SRPG news on: June 16, 2010, 08:34:34 AM
I doubt they would remake Devil Survivor for the 3DS when the 3DS is suppose to be backwards compatible with DS games.

maybe it's a sequel?
though it probably would be called devil survivor 2
1239  Media / Single-Player RPGs / if you could make or produce any game(s) you want on: June 16, 2010, 07:33:35 AM
what would it be?
not strictly console RPGs, but any game at all from any country
maybe just an extremely enhanced remake or something completely original and with an unlimited budget
I'd probably stick to consoles but I dunno which ones.
i would want to make at least a few original games and probably some that weren't released outside of japan
though mainly I've been thinking episode 6 of xenogears would be nice to make
maybe remake xenosaga and make it complete
each game would have a few (maybe a lot instead of a few) soundtracks by various composers, battle systems, graphical styles, several voice actors to choose from for each character and in several languages, several styles of character art, customizable interfaces, and massive amounts of story
clearly, I'm tired of not having a choice to play a certain game in a certain way that I would like to
I figure because at least one person almost always has at least one complaint about one of those thing, they should be able to change it
1240  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: 3DS' upcoming RPGs on: June 16, 2010, 06:38:13 AM
Im just hoping they put some eroge games in there

phantasy star portable 2 supposedly had some AV idols in its jp version so I guess that counts as an eroge but only in japan?

and handheld games

iPhone? And 3DS has motion sensors in it.

some games will probably be made without it even once all or most regular console games have it just because a lot of people are stubborn and refuse to convert to motion sensor games, like some refuse to download as opposed to getting a physical copy of a game
even by that time, companies will probably keep selling controllers with systems like wii has
and i thought iPhone just had a touch screen, not a motion sensor
1242  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: dear nintendo on: June 15, 2010, 05:46:15 PM
All this obsession with motion controls bothers me. Its such a gimmick. It will be a long time before motion controls replace regular controllers.

i actually think that will never happen for games that are in the domain of hardcore gamers.

and handheld games
1243  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: 3DS' upcoming RPGs on: June 15, 2010, 04:44:48 PM
is that first one a remake of original smt on famicom?
OMGOMGOMGOMG yay if it is
is 3ds backwards compatible for previous ds stuff?
it would be nice but it isn't like I'd expect to play those games in 3D
1244  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Is Square-Enix out of talent? on: June 15, 2010, 03:33:43 PM
Seriously, if I go look at SE only in story-terms I have to say FF9, FF10 and Drakengard 1 & 2 are my absolute favourite, as well as the world ends with you. If we are talking about the whole game... FF9, Drakengards and TWEWY remain, thought I found the Drakengard-gameplay to be somewhat limited.

FF9 and FF10 were Squaresoft, not Square-Enix. Drakengard was developed by Cavia.

I've been seeing a lot of double posting recently here, especially with staff but people rarely seem to notice it
edit: i forgot to mention this, but lost odyssey has been getting a lot of praise randomly just recently even though most people thought it was just okay back when it was first released
anyway, kingdom hearts games are still awesome
i'm also convinced that world ends with you game is really good even though I don't have a ds to play it
haven't played ff13 but ff12 was fun to play in most cases even if it had a dumb story
