Everyone should play this game:

though that cave thing was really confusing.

Sorry, can't join the club, I'm currently hosting a Casually Pessimistic party at the moment.

casually pessimistic = CP
CP = child porn?
sorry, had to relieve a little bit of boredom with that
I'm on that side, "this game probably sucks so I'll keep believing that until it blows me away completely because it's amazing"
1248  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PsP) on: July 09, 2010, 05:29:35 PM
I've just seen the import review of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. I'm also playing the import version but before starting I was a little scared because my japanese is far from perfect but it's getting better as time goes. Back to the game, it's awesome!
I'm loving it! I'm playing as Aqua, mostly because of the three characters she felt easier for me, especially in her description when they said she was the expert in magic (that is keyword for me to "choose this character") but I could've also played as Ven just as nice, just Terra felt a little stiff.

I have to confess, I have not liked previous Kingdom Hearts game, not everything but especially the combat. In KH1 it was a mess to choose spells and items, some worlds felt a little dragged and I felt unfortunate because I liked the story and all (at least what I saw of it). KH2 I just played the beggining but since I had some gripes with the first I was discouraged to play it, so I passed on it.

Birth By Sleep, is not only a great game, but one of the best games I've played this year, for me it's right next to Mass Effect 2 and Bayonetta. I won't go too far since someone just reviewed the game but suffice to say that everything feels polished (maybe I'll right a review myself when I finish it). Even the minigames on it which in most RPGs are just a cheap way to get money/items or not fun in here they are quite good, not Triple Triad good(FFVIII card game) but still fun.

Putting short, I was not even a KH fan to begin with and I loved this game, I can't imagine how fans will feel about it!

that sounds like a nerdgasm waiting to happen.

grown ups
chris rock had very few lines in this even though he's third main cast member and it had too much slapstick for me but besides that, it made me smile

this is probably going to be the first sh'mup game I've played since a few of those namco museum game thingies
except for traveling to various worlds by gummi ship in kingdom hearts.

anyone need a lawyer?
he doesn't get paid unless you get laid.
edit: he's a local lawyer and he frequently has commercials that involve people getting in car accidents (hence that sound of a car halting to a stop and airbag)
and he's always shown speaking in a serious and intense tone
a lot of people may not have really gotten it without an explanation about that stuff

1253  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: america's got talent on: July 08, 2010, 02:12:36 AM
yeah, i get a feeling that he got by only because he tried really hard to make it funny and people wanted desperately to believe that it was funny D:
and I should probably ask this now for anyone that watches talent shows like this (britain's got talent, etc), is judging this bad in those countries?
1254  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / america's got talent on: July 08, 2010, 01:51:40 AM
does anyone else here watch this show?
I was disappointed with a lot of choices made this week in season 5
someone like Mary Ellen gets through to hollywood but not Michael Grimm
that woman went over by at least 10 minutes this week but still got went on even though he probably didn't go nearly that long.
rapping white boy boy got through but not Connor Doran
Carlos Aponte didn't get picked for hollywood and reminded me a little of Susan Boyle
this one is so bad it's good, with a cameo from pedobear.
and some ones I like but a lot of people think suck, airpocalypse and Chips Cooney
ironically, a most recent video of chips was deleted from the official america's got talent channel by a company that produces this show
this season also has quite a few "cute" boys that probably about 70% of all females that watch this show would automatically vote for without taking actual talent into consideration.
this will probably be the last season i watch this show since it's starting to suck more than american idol.
some really good acts from previous years that were voted off by audience:
nuttin but stringz, classical violin/hip hop act
recycled percussion, guys beating on recycled stuff but sadly with poor sound quality
grandma lee, a comedy act
kaitlyn maher, moeified version of an act that people would vote for 'cause she's so effin CUTE
1255  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Top Ten Worthless RPG Characters on: July 07, 2010, 10:20:45 PM
khimari is a highly flexible character so he wasn't at all "worthless"
shana from legend of dragoon was like an exact definition of that because she doesn't have any additions and very low HP, attack and defense.
1256  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Chasing the RPG Dragon on: July 07, 2010, 08:43:09 PM
I don't know how you choose to categorize it, but a while back, I played Phantasy Star Portable, and I was pretty impressed with just how different the weapons actually felt.  In my second opinion review, I said "In many games, one gun feels like another gun, and one sword feels like another sword. Not this one. Claws feel entirely different from fists, which are completely different from daggers, etc."

Just thought I'd mention the one GOOD example I can think of in that respect.

I agree with you on that, especially in terms of guns since it has a bunch of weird gun "classes" or types that all feel unique
and since we're talking about breakable weapons, I haaaaaate items that go bad or decrease in effectiveness at a certain point of keeping them.
also I haaaaate extremely limited inventories that only let me keep a few things at once.
1257  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: There is no free lemonade on: July 07, 2010, 08:29:27 PM
oh no, they're terrorists set on destroying us all.
it's just a way for those girls to see people happy and even if their parents bought stuff for lemonade and candy bars, they still deserve credit for standing outside on a (presumably) hot day and sacrificing time to do that.
1258  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: So I've been trying internet dating on: July 07, 2010, 12:15:03 AM
Yeah, I hear a good way to get girls is to constantly hound them into submission until they take pity on you.

From then on in you just threaten suicide (or murder/suicide if you really love her) every time she tries to leave you.

Perfect harmony.

if that doesn't work, he could try a new approach like this:
1259  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The Shiniest New Sword on: July 06, 2010, 11:23:25 PM
Star Ocean 3, hands down.  It's deep, and helps you deal lotsa damage if done right.

Yeah, if you can out-sperglord the computer and make those critical inventions occasionally amidst a sea of 1,000,000 FOL failure salads.

It's simple math.
You put on characters that make cost go down, and understand the price range of certain items (deduct the % the creators take away from the cost).  One alchemist helps you make an item that sells for more than its worth to create (big fol).

Not enough games take advantage of customization...a shame since it is a great way to "take control" of everything.

I lost interest in breaking SO2 when I realized that I had spent more time breaking it than it would have taken to actually beat it, and all I've got to show for it is a parade of unwinnable boss fights no matter the level. I don't even get a piece of decent equipment as consolation for being able to own an endgame level boss like in Lufia or something. All I get is a "Fuck You For Playing!" from the assholes at Tri-ace.

And its much easier to break SO2 than SO3. Just not worth it in my opinion.

and grinding takes almost literally forever, since that gauge with rewards like double/triple experience and money only fills up if average party level is around that of enemies in battle.
and why do most reviews of star ocean 3 on here call it turn-based?
1260  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Toy Story 3 on: July 06, 2010, 09:24:58 PM
I didn't cry...

Why is it that a man crying is seen as a sign of weakness?

Man, I got nothing against dropping some manly tears Kenshiro-style, but sometimes you gotta be careful when on a date. I should have just let them roll though, with a stern look of heroic manliness on my face all the while.

like vaan amirite?
or this guy?
he, like me, thinks manly tears are good.
