I dont remember there may have been an article on this site about it but theres a tactical rpg coming from ex capcom, sega, and square enix employees on indiegogo. I'm a sucker for tactical rpgs and honestly it sounds like they know what there doing. More info here.

2  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Braven arts on kickstarter on: August 08, 2014, 01:54:22 AM
This game looks great to me mainly  because of the combat system. Think mega man battle network grid system  only turn based.  I plan on backing this.

Dont know if any of you have heard of it but theres a moddable multiplayer srpg coming out called telepath tactics. It looks great and is on kickstarter if it gets backed the game will have more features and overall be more polished which it really needs. Just realised this is the last day it can be funded. If interested check it out. theres an alpha demo there too if you scroll down. heres the link:

it doesn't require you to have friends but its recommended. friends can send and receive a gift from each other daily. makes it slightly faster to get gold. that way. it definately doesn't have nearly as much content as previous games in the series it is a facebook game and is in beta.  the main weakness of the game i think is the stamina system. stamina is required to move on the map, do battles, purchase troops etc. once it runs out it starts to refill but very slowly. this limits how much you can play in one sitting. there is also a cash shop where you can buy gold, stamina potions, troops and other things.  while i dont know if its game breaking you certainly don't need it. i find if i log in and play when i have stamina i can play a few times a day. even if you don't play much logging in each day will net you extra gold and this pays off when you are playing.  It takes no stamina to go on patrol either. just tell it you want to go on partrol and stay logged in till its done. this will net a small amound of gold xp and sometimes items. overall i think its better than most facebook games though that's not saying much. or if you just have an itch for pvp its good for that too. something i dont see much of in tactical rpgs. sorry for the long post.

grotesque tactics is 25 bucks here.. anyone who buys it should keep in mind its about a 15-20 hour game. know it was planned to come out as wiiware too. dont know if that happened yet. if the game does well they say they want to do a sequel.

2 games ive been waiting for both were scheduled for this summer.  i was looking forward to them because they looked to be decent tactical rpgs.  one came out in june i believe. the other wiill be out next tuesday.  the one thats been out and ive beeen playing is groteque tactics.  its unusual and low budget but actually fun in my opinion. its a little on the different side.  they wanted it to be humorous and it shows.  Probably the only tactical rpg i know of that claims to be partly inspired by the monkey island games. a link to that games site is below. after clicking on homepage there is a trailer.

the game that comes out next tuesday is elemental war of magic. im mainlly excited for the modding support its supposed to have.  there seems to be a lot to it. ill let the trailer below speak for itself.
