1  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: PS4 or Vita? on: May 28, 2016, 01:28:27 PM
Ok so does anyone want to volunteer what they think is a good price for a "like new" original model Vita?
'

Under 100 dollars. I'd say 80-90 is reasonable if it's from a store, 70 or less if it's from a less reputable source. Like new means nothing if you have a factory defect that makes it last a year or less, and if you're gonna spend almost the same amount on a like new unit, may as well spend more and buy a new unit. Honestly, new vitas aren't too pricy anyway, i'd spend a little more and buy it new.

Season 2 finale of the flash...

Just...wow...like not ground breaking or emotionally painful (maybe a little), but fuck...next season is gonna be weird...

Caught up last night and... yeah... you're right.  I'm willing to bet it follow the model set by last season: end on cliffhanger with big problem, fix problem in season premier, deal with fallout from said problem throughout the season.

AKA every action show ever.
True, true...but how many of said shows have as many lovely ladies as The Flash?

EXACTLY!

All of them.  Heck, Person of Interest being an excellent case in point: Amy Acker, Sarah Shahi, and Taraji Henson all in the same show... add in Jim Caviezel and you you've got the best sex appeal on television.  Up until this last season they weren't gratuitous with it, though.

And actually I sorta feel like The Flash is lacking in that area, but... there's no accounting for taste.  I've even lost my love for Danielle Panabaker just because they're not giving her anything interesting to do except be a damsel-in-distress.  She was a much better love interest for Barry than Iris could ever be dream of being. :P
Ok, I'll give you Sarah Shahi and Amy Acker, but Taraji  Henson...really? REALLY?

I'm just saying The Flash has more....way more...than every other show, including Arrow and Supergirl...and Supergirl has an extremely large amount of vexing vixens.

Whatever, Taraji's gorgeous, don't be jealous. :P

And who are all these lovely ladies in this bizarro alternate Flash you're watching?  They're not in my version.
*DEEP BREATH*

CAITLYN, IRIS, PATTY, LINDA, JESSIE, SNART'S SISTER...actually saying them all makes you realize that there are less than I thought. Also, those are all characters who appeared more than twice in the 2 seasons, just to be fair.

You know what really grinds my gears? Like really really bad???

When I go to a troubleshooting job to fix what should be a simple problem...literally hit EVERY possible culprit to said problem, have to call in a specialist to web access my laptop to read code in a fucking processor...then get told "Oh, we might have unplugged something last time we were in there" and find out that the reason an entire room is fucked is because one guy botched his job and said nothing.

5 hours, waste of time.

7  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: FINAL FANTASY XV, This is a fantasy based on reality. on: May 26, 2016, 12:28:44 PM
Friend of mine is trying to argue that uncharted 4 has better graphics than XV. I show him these screens..."Cinematics don't count."

I really can't wait to see the full finished game in action.

They actuallt look like FF designs from across the ages. Golbez to Seymour to Type-0 to Squall...all smooshed into angsty teenagers.

^ I don't think you CAN find that outfit.  The shirt's just a slight variation on one of the "Tee" models, but that skirt with stockings... I don't think you can get that as a separate piece of gear.
Where do you even see her in the game? Never seen that NPC before.

next season is gonna be weird...

Rumors are already circulating about some Flashpoint Paradox story arc. I don't know enough about the comics or animated movie/cartoon releases to add any input here. The season finale, I'll admit was a little underwhelming, but there were some good parts as well. I wonder what the Flash did that may have resulted in altering Arrow or Supergirl (I guess they're shared now in the multiverse?). Speaking of Supergirl, I watched the pilot episode and couldn't get beyond the cheesiness, so I may have to pass on that one.
Supergirl improves a lot later in the season, but getting there is a chore.

If it is gonna be ala flashpoint paradox, Supergirl wouldn't be impacted at all, and arrow would only be affected if they decided to follow things in Flash's newly modified world, assuming they don't intend to make it permanent.

Back on Xenoblade X for a minute.  Have you ever refused a video game request only to send you into an infinite loop of "will you please join"?  Not Xeno X!  They pull a double negative on you.

In one of the Paper Mario games you can get a Game Over at the very beginning if you say "no" over and over when they're asking Mario to save their world.  It's quite hilarious.
Metal Saga did something similar on the ps2. They ask you if you want to go out on a big adventure or stay home and be a mechanic I think. If you chose option B, you got an ending about how you grew old and got married and died a plain old man, then the credits rolled...fun game.

^Because you can't or because you don't want to?

My haps... The magazine manager is trying to organise a gettogether, but I'm not sure if I want to go. I know I should go. I'm 'important' and they want me to prove I'm not a jerk, but I'm no good at this social stuff. The last meet-up I liked was the one where I could hide out in the kitchen and play strategy games with the girlfriend of one of the writers (which meant all the women there ended up in the kitchen. oops.).

Hey that sounds like fun!

Ever since a bunch of my gaming friends moved and stuff I miss being able to do the random things like that.

That said those were all definitively board game silly events and didn't at all represent a kind of "event" in any serious sense (Oh look get a nice dress and do this and be cool) because those things all SUCK! =-P
It's like the saying "better to have gamed and lost than to have never gamed at all"... I wish I had friends for that kind of thing, but my small group of buddies consists of a fighting gamer, a sports gamer, and a shooter gamer, with a few casuals mixed in. It's a dull life I lead.

Went to my uncle's house today to help fix an electrical issue he was having, and he tells me I look good, like I've been losing weight. Normally this would make my day, but right now I have been weighing myself on a scale at home and though I have lost a few pounds over the last 2 weeks, I have actually gained about 20 or 39 since last I saw him. Thing is, it's all muscle. Seriously, I've been checking myself out and all over my upper body aside from my enormous gut I'm getting gigantic muscle growth. It'a so strange to see shoulders and a chest now instead of just more flabby flesh. I'm sorry if this sounds like gloating or ego or something, it's quite the opposite. I'm dumbfounded by all this, i've been a fat kid for my entire life. I still am, but there's finally this glimmer at the end of the tunnel where I can see myself changing and it's....frightening. I don't know what it's like to be "in shape" and it's a really strange concept. Even now I feel cockier, like I'm something special, which I've never felt like before...

First world problems,huh?
