Double posting because Kaiba can screw the rules.

So I spent all of my weekend dreading this job I'm doing this week, which was to be a major install. Originally spec'd out at 5 plasma tvs being removed from one spot, mount and all, aling with some video conference equipment and associated cables to make everything work, and re-install it all at another site.  This was upgraded on site to 8 plasmas, 3 rooms worth of video conferencing equipment, and cable boxes to be removed from one site and be reinstalled minus 2 tvs at the other site. Sounds daunting, right?

As of today, 4 tvs are mounted, the 3 rooms of video conferencing equipment are set up and operating minus network connecticity (which time warner was putting in today alongside of us), and no one is (very) angry or injured or tired. We're so ahead of schedule that my father and I left 2 hours early, and our associate who's suffering from a pretty nasty toothache (crown's failing or some shit) spent all day not raging in pain. Tomorrow's gonna take a total of 3 hours, assuming I sit on my ass for 2 of those hours. Best part is I'm probably getting paid for 4 days anyway, since the day was originally scheduled to be held. I'm not even ready to knick my ild man's heas off, and we bickered for half the day. Now I get to go home and do laundry, then hit the gym.

It's amazing what can happen when you don't suck at your job.

I can literally hear the Metal Gear theme playing as I read that....the day Snake's voice had died.

I remember you talking about their massive fuck up earlier this year that kept you without money for a small while. If it makes you feep any better, I'm totally gonna steal one of their old tvs they won't be keeping.

Working at the Royal Bank of Scotland today. Moving a bunch of video conference equipment and 7 old LCD monitors to a new office down the block....

Anything you'd like me to tell them on your behalf, goosey?

Got a major install next week, so my gym visits will be sparce, probably gonna head out there in a few minutes today actually. Turns out what I thought was a pinched nerve in my back wasn't, but I'm still unsure of what it was exactly. Hurt like a MOTHER FUCKER, so much so that I took some vicodin to help deal with it. All I know is I am never following chest workouts with shoulder workouts.

I swear I will hit 315 on the bench by my birthday!

Nah, I just hate that statement of "Be a man", so I made a bad joke. But seriously, it's an unfair statement. Your approach works for you, but I can't walk into a bar or club and use your technique, it wouldn't work for me. It's not because you're more of a man, but because we're different men.

Just putting that out there.
1451  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What's the haps? on: March 30, 2013, 01:31:12 AM
I gotta argue this "Be a man" logic for one reason. Men come in many varieties, including stoic, chivalrous, tough, charming, sensitive, rough, smooth.....the list goes on. I consider myself a man. I pay bills, do my own laundry, cook my own food, shave, and drink alcohol. I'm not sure how that would translate to hooking up though. And not for nothing, I'm fairly manly in terms of being big and intimidating, and I'm pretty certain most people don't think "that's a guy I'd like to punk and make my bitch" when they look at me. Is this what women want when they see a guy at a bar?

I don't get why so many people wanna see remakes. New ips would be so much better.

I don't understand what the problem is with having all those different things available to us? Some of the content is more for newer players or just has such shitty rewards that messing with it isn't worth anything now. The active content, including salvage, limbus, einharjer, sky, Legion, Dynamis, assault, and so forth is always in use and a good chunk of it has been tweaked recently for more play from high end players. I completely disagree with finessing the current content more, outside maybe garrison which I have never done due to a lack of desire and manpower. The game is currently at a very solid standpoint, everything is doable with a good group INCLUDING NEO NYZUL, and the constant stream of doing the same 7 or 8 things every day is getting played out. The new content was needed, badly.

I can agree with Rune Fencer being a GS drk, but there is no problem with that in my eyes. Their gear options are vastly better than any light DD, and they have great defensive spell choices. If they had some sort of healing ability, the class would be a solo king for regular enemies. As Hathen told me in game (and I didn't agree at first...still don't fully), the only thing that may suck for them right now is their lack of utility for high level play. Don't need their single target buffs, whm and sch do it better, and their runes won't be terribly useful against large enemies in DD situations. Lunge may have some utility, but I can't tell you yet, my best was a 500 damage hit with double fire on an ep enemy as a drk99/run49. The defensive abilities may prove useful.yet, but as it would require bringing some rune fencers to big fights and actually practicing with it, that may take a while too. I do know one thing, any DD in full thaumas gear has a pretty solid tp phase of attack, and now a 2 handed weapon user has thaumas access...could be interesting.

I don't like geo so much right now, their spells create ridiuclous slow down
1454  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy XI - Journal! on: March 28, 2013, 10:00:02 PM
New expansion dropped tuesday, went live wednesday. Few basic thoughts so far...

Rune fencer is my second favorite class now. I enjoy the shit out of it, and it's only level 30. Can't wait to see it at 99 (saturday probably lolol)

The new area, Adoulin, is very pretty considering what they had to work with, and the music has a very oldschool rpg town feel to it. I approve.

The music itself is impressive, I like the new battle theme, much more than abyssea or even standard fighting, though assault battle music is still king.

Reives, the new collaborative battle objective thingy, is pretty intense right now. Enemies are on your level, and they don't play around. Constant respawning, high damage output, and and small quarters for fighting results in a large clusterfuck and bodies everywhere. However, it also means you have to cut loose and fight hard. No more 30 second fight and you're done, you're working now. It's great fun so far.

Kudos to SE for breathing some life into this game, and hopefully this is a sign of good things to come for XIV.

I tell you what, I could see Kiefer Sutherland pulling off big boss, but it wouldn't be the same without Hayter. Even if he's just a cameo voiceover or a fucking security guard or something, it's not really MGS without good ole David Hayter.
