It was only in 3 where I found boss health annoying. 2 and 1 were easy comparitively. Grandia 2's final boss was a cakewalk btw, I swear I never found any difficulty fighting him.

Grandia 3 is actually the one grandia where I was significantly overleveled for everything. I still found bosses annoyingly long, but never challenging.

I know VP is popular among this crowd, but did those games even sell well?  It never really struck me as a big name franchise for S-E.
That's because the VP games didn't sell well. Even after the first got a remake on psp which made it better, it still didn't perform so well. VP is a cult hit at best.

I kind of think of Square Enix like a bad friend right now. They've been messing around with stuff they shouldn't, and it's pissing me off. They try to come back and show they've changed, but they just cover they're shit with more shit. Either we cut them off completely and they realize their errors, or they keep sinking until they're completely gone. We can't buy into their bullshit, we have to stand strong no matter how hard they beg and how much they plead and offer us gifts, it won't make them wake up and realize they're only hurting themselves in the long run.

I don't mind the minimalistic story approach as long as the gameplay is fun and there's at least some story that you can find in some sort of fashion that drives things forward.  Sometimes those kind of games where you can just log on and do fun things without things like story getting in the way are the ones I play the most.

I really miss game rental shops.  Might just have to man up and buy it because it does look interesting.
Gamefly is your friend, sir.

I'd like a grandia that consists of the first 75% of grandia 2 and the last 25% of grandia, and the characters consist of Ryudo pre-bitch, Mareg, Justin post-bitch, and Gadwin....scratch that, just Gadwin and Mareg. Keep.the battle style and feel of 3, but take out the STUPIDLY FUCKING INSANE amounts of hp bosses had. Those fights took forever, and generally consisted of using the critical command every round, unless you had enough sp for the generic cancel sp move or a good sp move. Also, magic is w/e, so just throw one of the games' magic systems in there. 2's was least offensive and least weird, so I guess that works.

1st time in history I've been described as a guy's guy.

Let me continue folding my target bought star wars AND trek t-shirts.
Closet nerdiness aside, you still talk about regular things and topics that don't involve video games and hating your job. The only person who seems like more of a general dude then you is dice.

Installed an outdoor water faucet in my backyard today. 14 inches of brick and a 1 inch wide hole to make through it. I gotta say... I will never complain about a jackhammer operator making noise again. 10 minutes on a hammer drill turned my arm into jelly. The reciprocating action of the drill head bouncing back and forth with essentially all my weight behind it centered at my hands and indirectly my elbows. It was not fun, especially after the first bit's head had been nearly worn off completely, making it a very slow process. To add insult to injury, my father who normally wouldn't be so lazy, measured the distance between where the wall ended inside so as to pass through completely incorrectly. I ended drilling into the corner of the house basically instead of the back wall to the water lines, wasting nearly an hour of work and 2 fully charged batteries. Had to go to an old corded hammer drill with no easy to replace the drill bit due to it's chuck not having a proper key. We had to use a couple screwdrivers to manually turn the chuck to grip or release a bit (much harder than it sounds). Essentially 3 hours of drilling through the wall and finally, we finished.

The faucet's pipe was short half an inch.

Thankfully we adapted a small brass coupler onto it so as to make the connection to our water lines, but still....FUCK today was a bitch. Best part is it's just for our whiny landlord who wants it to wash his car easier. We charged him 200 bucks, 100 of it being parts. A contractor would have charged easily triple that.

Question, does my name say "sucker" anywhere under it?

I wanna meet Alisha so we can compare tastes on rpgs and ladies.

I wanna meet Yoda because he just seems like such a generic guy's guy. I never actually met one of those.

I wanna watch a movie with grim. I feel like he would be one of those guys who'd get so irritated at a bad film he would get up and yell at it midflick and walk out, and god I wanna see that happen.

I wanna meet dincrest cuz he's got a fucking action figure. When he gets famous (rich) I hope he asks me to do his home entertainment set up.

I wanna meet Hathen for 2 reasons. One, i played ffxi with him for something like 3 years, and he was the only person who never bullshit me, never dumped me for something better, and always included me when he could on what he was doing. He helped me get loads of shit done and advanced me beyond anything I would have done normally, so I consider him the coolest football in FFXI.  Two, if ventrillo and mumble have taught me anything about him, he's gonna fucking piss someone off in public super hard, and god I wanna see that happen.

Everyone else here has no specific reason why, but I'd love to meet em regardless. You only understand so much about a person by just reading what they write. A voice behind the words adds so much to the person, and a face behind the voice even more.

Adoulin, actually Cyril, and it was only released for PS2 in japan.

SE just needs to stop trying to break the mold with every new game they make.

I got to meet turnbasedude and ashtrot last year, was gonna get together again last month with them but I got sick the day of...fuckin ruined my week that did.

I'd be down for a meet and greet type thing so long as I didn't have to come up with any suggestions on where and what to do. I'm a boring motherfucker.

^I'm only here for the GIFs.

Anything using half-baked can't be bad. New xbox will be awesome for this gif alone.

It'd be awesome if you could take your personal characters with you into another players game.  Like using my own Asbel in someone else's game.

The idea for heavy weight lifting if to work to failure. Basically, keep going til you can't do it right or at all. I think alot of my recent problem was I went from shoulders to chest, which didn't give me a lot of recovery room for either muscle group since most chest exercises work shoulders and vice versa.

Well, today's easy, since I'm going to help my sister work out. She wants to lift weights, so big brudder has to help lil sis.

@Hathen I've seen a lot of people increase their weight progression in different ways. Some people do their heaviest set first and work backwards after, a few guys I know do shock methods, where they change entire workouts for muscle groups every visit so they won't do the same exercise twice in a month. Most of my friends who exercise don't even care to increase weights, just doing it for tone. I've been doing the standard 4 set gradual increase, generally starting with a very light weight for a large number of reps, minimally 12. Each following set gets closer to my max weight and less reps per set, so generally sets are 12+, 10, 8, and 6 to 8 or the best I can do. I was doing 5 sets for a while, but I'd generally be shot after 3 workouts which isn't enough to get much of a burn going. I advise everyone to try a heavier weight when they're lifting, and my general mantra is "if you did it once, you can do it again".

Best picture I ever saw.

I changed my pawn's look the other day. I realize that getting a real-life feel is near impossible, given the lack of.hair options, but I'm content that he looks like me to a degree. My main kinda looks like Scarlett Johansson. Yes I made a female main, she's hot.
1469  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Dragon's Dogma on: May 13, 2013, 02:59:52 AM
I jump between assasin, strider, and ranger when I feel lazy. I maxed out fighter and warrior for their augment skills, and mostly just run around on assasin since they have the movement of strider and the melee of fighter.

I fought an Ur Dragon earlier, online version. A lot easier than I remember.

Less rumors, more Tales of Xillia.
