Was supposed to be off tomorrow, schedule changed this morning when my father decided he felt to ill to handle the call today and changed it to tomorrow. I am not pleased.

The IQ test thing weighs your demographic info and time took. If you answer incorrectly but quickly, you'll get a higher score.

If you indicate you're older than someone else, but you both give the same answers and take the same amount of time, the older person will score lower.

Like seriously I got a score of 191 and intentionally gave wrong answers for the last half of the questions. The score was high because I answered it in under a minute.
I figured it was a combination of age, duration, and accuracy. Still, you aren't taking this away from me. I beat my dad, hah!

Quick edit: I just ran the test as fast as I could effectively do, accidentally skipped 1 question and got 1 wrong, but I set my age as 90 somethingish (1920s). Scored a 162...yeah age played a huge factor. I ran the test in under 2 minutes (phone loading stuff).

Mesh, did you only take it once?

So I'm 29 years old, gonna be 30 in a few months, and I have never taken an IQ test before. In a moment of boredom, I googled IQ test and went to the first site I saw,

www.free-iqtest.net

Now I know, probabaly entirely unreliable shit, but again, boredom. I did the test, 20 questions, about 15 minutes to do the whole thing (a few of them really had me thinking).

I scored a 146.

Yeah yeah, reliablity, free iq test, probably a huge joke. I had my dad take the same test, and after scoffing at it and saying it would be a waste of time, he finally caved and started it. About 10 minutes in, I asked what question he was on, to which he replied halfway through. Few minutes later he was just sitting there looking at his phone and I said "Soooo?", where he got annoyed and said shut up. Couple more minutes later he tells me he scored a 134, and then got upset because I was pestering him the whole time...

That moment in life when you best your parents....the smugness was unbelievable. I don't give a flying fuck that I got a genius rating, I'm just stoked that I beat my dad.

My little sister also beat him by a point .

I'm just gonna go ahead and throw this out for humor's sake.

(In reference to the topic title) ...said no one, ever.

In reality though I honestly much prefer to watch a movie of a story than read it. I have a very active imagination for a 29 year old, so I don't really care to nurture it further. I already fantasize way too heavily about myself in the games I play and the shows I watch ( I always love thinking about how if I had been around in an episode of the flash to save the flash himself or any number of cartoons and animes for a similar circumstance). Furthermore, watching something like Harry Potter or Divergent (great movie, really surprised actually) allows for less interruptions, first because it's shorter to watch a 2 hour movie over reading a 200+ page book and second because some interruptions are now actually engrossed in the film as well. Sure I'm now forced to live the story through someone else's vision, but hey, some people have good vision.

I'm pretty sure you mean India but regardless, who really wins in that scenario?

No, we actually shut down our India office and let everyone go because India is too costly now.
We're dealing with 3rd world country freelancers now to replace them.
That's why whenever I call an AT&T customer cervice center or similar call center, I ask to speak to Americans when the call is sent overseas. Fuck this outsourcing bullshit.

Office-wide strike....

Office closes and all work sent to Mexico.
I'm pretty sure you mean India but regardless, who really wins in that scenario?

Today, for the second time in less than a year, I saw a coworker break down and start crying due to stress and overwork.
That's the kind of corp I work at =/

I guess I was correct in my assumption yesterday when I told my boss that things can't keep on like this.
Sadly, they will stay that way because the higher-ups seriously don't give a damn.
Office-wide strike....

I bought halo 2 when I didn't even have an xbox...never bought one for it either. I say buy it if you wanna.

I watched an old lady nail 2 strikes in a row....meanwhile I got (followed by a gutterball) and the dude in second place opened with cheerios (double gutter) followed by a strike. Terrible shaming aside, it was pretty fun, so we'll probably do it again in a month. Btw, the last time I bowled, I was probably 20ish...so almost 10 years later I'm glad I still suck.

Went bowling tonight with my 3 buddies. I managed to bowl a 79...I was 3rd place. The winner was an 85.

We are terrible bowlers.
27  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X on: March 06, 2015, 07:09:40 PM
No more talent arts and chain attacks? Classes?

Looking more and more like The Elder Xenoscrolls 4 Online Ultimate. Which is awesome on its own merits, but holy crap the title Xenoblade is nothing but marketing at this point. Just seems odd that they'd stick to that naming for a game that is clearly going for a completely different flow.
...and I couldn't be happier about it!

Oh god here comes Square Enix's personal white knight, fighting the evils of opinions and observations that paint his company in anything less than a pearly white luster.

Seriously, Ygg, do you ever just stop and ask yourself if what SE is paying you is enough to attack people for thinking negatively about SE? It's pretty infuriating to have to read a personal attack every time someone says SE isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread

Video's in the linked page, but long story short MGSV is set for a worldwide release September 1st.
30  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: FFX/X-2 HD-2 (i.e. PS4 ver) on: March 02, 2015, 11:31:09 PM
2 remakes of FFX
2 sequels to FFXIII
A sequel to FFXII (kind of)
2 indirect sequels to FFTactics.
A remake of Tactics Ogre.
I've lost count of the remakes/re-releases of FFIV
Remakes of FFV and FFVI for IOS (and android now).
FFXIV failed and was hit with a phoenix down (Fenix Down if you're really bored), now being quite the great MMO.

For fucks sake how many more fucking games need to be redone before we get FFXV?
