Rather than post a new topic, I edited my old one. Also...trailer

Can not fucking wait for this.

My frustration was the healer who couldn't see it in time. I mean shit, there's this huge fucking line that comes out of him in your direction....stay out of it.

If that's true enough, I'll drag my group over too. Nothing but bitching about overpopulation anyway.

I'm just gonna toss out a couple things here regarding feminism.

1: Walk into a mcdonalds or other fast food restaurant and tell me how many more of either sex is working there over the other.

2: Look into trade work like plumbing or carpentry and explain why the field is so open to so many but women never bother with it.

3: Anita Sarkeesian was mentioned at some point, I read am article not too long ago that apparently she's some massive con artist with her feminist movements...if I get some motivation I may look it up and link it but I'm sufe a quick google search will suffice.

4: Ever notice that women who want to be extreme feminists show very male qualities? Makes you wonder where's the difference between them?

Too tired for more coherent thoughts.

titan fight is bullshit just died about 10 times

I blame the difficulty on morons who don't know how to avoid attacks and don't save trapped allies.

So I got the game today and I just found out that all the servers I want to play on have locked out character creation. Well there goes my fucking point for playing.
Give it a couple more days, they should be opening the character creation again.

I'm not on a legacy server, so I shouldn't be having that problem. Besides, it's ffxi basics like initial attack gets priority hate and cure spam builds hate fast that I don't get people not knowing. I spent 3 almost 4 years as a dark knight on XI, and I learned how to tank in XIV in the course of 4 days. It's not hard....nothing in this game is hard outside of getting to play it.

In other news, I can start my AF quest soon.

Just did the level 44 dungeon. Man...I swear people are getting worse as I play. I admit I get sloppy on weaponskills...but what fucking kind of moron mage takes to the front lines to cast spells? Fucking healer spams cures and pulls hate like crayz, meanwhile the mage AS FUCKING ALWAYS tries to solo shit and the drg I was with decided to be useful, only he sort of sucked at paying attention.

Btw, ALL PC PLAYERS. I swear, they fucking set up a few macros and keybinds and basically watch tv. They're fucking terrible. I am so glad I went tank, I doubt any tank I've met (Parn aside cuz he's a pal) is worth a damn. Fucking drg tells me you gotta be careful of AoE stuff in the dungeon and the boss has an instant kill AoE you gotta avoid....sure enough he gets tagged by it...twice.

1629  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy XIV: ARR, a Thread Reborn on: September 04, 2013, 05:10:17 PM
Defiance is incredibly useful also. The 25% extra hp is awesome when you wanna eat those hits, and the damage reduction isn't that painful because as Parn said, tank damage output is subpar and shouldn't be a focus (though I went all str for my bonus attributes heh heh). And the crit bonus and healing bonus I get while Infuriated is worth the neglected 25% damage penalty. Solo play, I may leave defiance off just to kill shit faster but party wise it's always on.

Now if only the dps nubs would stop attacking indiviual targets that still hit me, my poor healers would be so much happier not having to heal damage from 3 mobs at a time for every encounter.

Heh, frankly anuubis, by the time most of us hit 60, I expect either world war 3 to screw most of us over, a full revolution of the internet and how things are run regarding it and most related aspects to it, or some dimwitted fool in the presidents chair decides to blow up iraq (let's call him George W. Jr.) and in turn gets the entire world to hate and destroy america turning us into a third world country in a year or worse, same dimwit declares war and accidentally blows up the world.

I am oddly negative today.

Me and my old man don't discuss feelings. Hard enough to get him to divulge details about work related things, nevermind personal issues. I can barely get him to look at a strange bump or something on my backside when I ask. Dealing with problems that are of our own design are rare in my home. Anyone elses, no problem.

28 years old. I work as a freelance stagehand and audio/video installation tech, neither of which are currently in huge demand so work isn't pouring my way. In regards to my dad, he isn't crippled (technically), but he is considered disabled. It's not so much that it's being a caregiver, but more like he can't simply maintain his own standard of life on his own easily. It's things like buying groceries, cleaning up, and maintaining his "job" as neighborhood handyman (I should mention my father and I work together as A/V installers) that I have to be there for. He can feed himself and cook for himself, but his condition.has made it difficult to do anything physical for more than a few hours a day. His issues are also degenerative so unless someone can come up with miracle cures for diabetes, old age, and physical deterioration of body parts, it's only gonna get harder. Diabetes and the associated diabetic neuropathy has really destroyed alot of his ability, and though he has addressed it and now has it under control the damage is done.

To be quite honest, he's a bit of a medical enigma. His level of diabetes was considered pretty bad, but he doesn't need insulin. Though his doctor said he oughta be cripple by now, he can still walk (lumber is more adequate) for all intents and purposes. He recently had to have stents placed due to hardened arteries, but the doctor told him his heart was actually quite strong for all the crappy lifestyle choices and negative factors he's faced. I still giggle about how when he went in for gallbladder surgery (which nearly killed him due his gallbladder being....well shit), he came out of his anesthesic almost fully lucid and aware of what was going on....while they were stitching him up. He's a stubborn brute for sure, but that's part of where the fear comes in. The idea of him being left alone and god forbid he lost his footing and could not get himself back up, I'm sadly certain no one would even come to find him. It's possible I am just using him as an excuse to continue being a 28 year old kid, but I know how I feel.

Event Horizon was an awesome movie, just wanted to share that.

Since his name was mentioned, I worked an event a few years ago at I believe the Hilton hotel in NYC or maybe the Plaza, forget which, featuring Masaharu Morimoto as a chef for it. I was doing a break out room, which sucked because the rest of the crew got a free show from Mr. Morimoto himself. The fatasses ate everything he made too, jerks...

So I've been at the gym now for roughly 10 months, have lost 30 pounds without changing my diet (astonishing if you ask me), and have definitely seen a major improvement in my ability to continue past my usual limits in exertion. By far the greatest moment out of this was when my asshole father started to chuckle when he saw me start to do a pushup, then after I adjusted to an elevated position (feet on a chair so my neutral position was a straight line) and proceeded to bust out 30, he admitted he was impressed. Twas a good day that last thursday...though I should stop doing push ups barefoot as my toes hurt greatly after.

Been tossing around the idea more and more of finally getting into the air force or the army. My life is losing direction fast, and as much as I enjoy the gym and my video gaming, current work and my father's slowly deteriorating condition are starting to eat away at me. I have little desire in life anymore outside of simple enjoyments and that fills me with nausea just thinking about it. The worst part is I can't think of anything I wanna do with my life anymore, aside from getting stronger and playing video games which seriously don't go hand in hand nor do they really satisfy my longing for something more...not sure what it is though. I know that the military may be a cop out choice, but maybe it's what I need...idk. I'm just so terrified of leaving my old man alo e these days, it's not like he's an invalid, but he seems so out of it when he's alone. He barely gets out of the house outside of smoking his cigar and physically he can barely walk around the corner to the store. I fear that if I were to leave for a month I'd get a phone call telling me he croaked. My mom died too soon in life, and in a very miserable and unhappy way, I don't wish this for my father. He had enough shit from my mom's family blaming him for her situation and not taking care of her before she got cancer, then for not getting her treated...etc etc. He's an ass, but I'd like to see him be somewhat comfortable before he passes on, however long it may be.

I feel oddly open right now, I know I'll read this tomorrow and hate myself for having put it all here, but idk, words just came out and I felt like sharing them with some group of people who listen. Thanks for being here haps thread, stop accidentally getting locked.
1634  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of Xillia on: September 03, 2013, 10:42:18 PM
Milla is now my new favorite Tales chick. Sorry Judy, you're awesome and all, but I understand Jude. I want to....help her....all the time. Idk what it is though, maybe it's her complete switch from godlike deity to bimbo on a mission to determined diva that sold me. Plus her actual text dialogue is awesome. Yeah, the VA needs to go back to acting school, but if you imagine some emotion behind it like in the skits, its awesome. I know I would challenge the very maker of the world for her....assuming I had spent several days power leveling in an accidentally discovered dungeon.
1635  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy XIV: ARR, a Thread Reborn on: September 03, 2013, 10:34:42 PM
I haven't even bothered with macros yet. I just go through hotbar actions, it's pretty easy. Wonder if the larger raid dungeons will change my mind...

Did Cutter's cry last night, level 38 dungeon. Man was that interesting. Fucking floor has traps everywhere that deal damage, so you gotta watch your footing, and the cactuars use 1000 needles WHICH IS WAY EASY to avoid now. The boss was a chimera with an interesting attack pattern. He would.change his eye color at times during the fight and when it went blue, he'd use a close range AoE blizzard attack that extended outward from him so you had to run away. Violet eyes, he used an electric AoE attack that hit the surrounding area out from him but left a safe zone around his immediate area. As the tank, he hit me 3 times with it during my 4 fights against him (2 runs, 1 death per run). Fucking dps really get lazy. Best thing now though are the pc snobs who say controllers make dodging attacks and using the interface hard, meanwhile only pc asshats seem to get caught in BLATANT AOE ATTACKS like the aforemnetioned 2.

Warrior is fucking astounding. Truly a class made for me. Also, Titan made my healer cry today because my healer.was retarded and got ring out'd like 6 consecutive times. A lady monk in my party was trashing him so hard, I felt so bad.
