OLED is the next step up for sure....but yeah, ouch on the price.

Fuck it all, drop 2500 on a 3d projector, mount it to a ceiling and point it at a flat white wall.

It's bigger than your comfortable field of vision. You'd have to actually move your eyes to see other parts of the screen comfortably. You'd be more comfortable with a 50", as I think that's the smallest panasonic makes for those plasmas, and even then it's still a bit large. I'd recommend moving your couch or viewing seat back another 2 feet if possible, it will feel much more comfortable.

If you can, go to a store and just try looking at a tv the size you're thinking of from said distance. If you feel comfortable with it, go for that size and try amazon for a good deal.

Is plasma aight for movies and shite?

I need a good middle ground. Money is concern to this humble horsemaster.
Newer plasma tvs have better black levels than most other models, and seeing as you don't wanna spend 20,000 bucks on a sony 4k yet, the panasonics are pretty good bang for your buck.

Anyone have any thoughts on the best tv to get? Of course gaming is my main thing.
Panasonic viera class plasma, depending on the distance you'll be sitting away from it, minimally 50".

I much preferred my date for the night, honestly. :P
I envy you good sir, she should have won by default.

She didn't win? Jesus, the winner must have been a goddess.

Legend of Dragoon was a fun game...not ground breakingly awesome, but pretty entertaining for sure. I can safely say that FFIX was more fun, but I'd grab LoD over VIII anytime.

I assume she won?

Everyone has a preference...but XII was just so poorly done in terms of story and characters. Even the music was less satisfying than most other FF titles. I give the gambit system praise every time, but fuck XII overall.

Not unless he was an extra in the background or something.
I had read he was going to play a russian colonel in the movie....guess that was a mistake.

Finally saw Chronicle. Man, that was a good movie. It felt very....real I think is the word to use here, like it could have happened. The whole method of filming just sold the movie well. I really suggest checking it out at least once.

Also watched Battleship....it sucked. Really sorry Liam Neeson has his name attached to it, he's above films like that. The whole premise was cool, and visuals were top notch...but the peg missles, the "battleship grid" scene, and the silliness of the cast...if this were the real navy, I'd be scared off my ass for what happens in an actual battle.

Maybe it's because of the villians, but 1 and 3 were definitely my favorites. Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons were great bad guys, although they were terrible germans in hindsight. I liked 2 because of the action, it was great. 4 was mediocre, and the young guy in it was one of the hackers, not his son. I do have one requested mini-spoiler to ask for. Is it true Patrick Stewart's in it?

I can also attest to years of playing FFVI, and never having caught one of those game breaking bugs, though my first time having played ffvi was via rental at blockbuster video. I actually tried playing one of the saved files, which was at hidon's rock, and the airship was glitched and couldn't be boarded...not my fault.

Amazing...10/10

I'm a whore for nostalgia, and I've been a die hard fan since I was old enough to understand it. Granted, 4 wasn't great, but the first 3 were awesome. This is more than enough to get me to see 5.
