1996  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: July 25, 2012, 01:14:43 AM
Just finished watching The Dark Knight Rises. Loved it, great story, well acted, well played. Didn't like Bane's accident or Miranda Tate (fucking liars), but both were great in the movie. I would like to dedicate an entire topic to Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle...my god I would take a bullet in the chest for her, and her Catwoman is astounding ( though you had to appreciate how they never actually call her Catwoman in the movie). Bane as a villian was vastly superior to his henchman role in Batman and Robin, and Tom Hardy looked the part of a monster for sure, though the lack of a super drug to turn him into the real Bane kinda sucked some of the fun out of it. It may not have had the superior Joker skill of the late Heath Ledger, but it was amazing nonetheless. If you're deciding on whether to see it still or not, just stop and go see it.

Quick note, when it got to a certain point with all the gunfire, I couldn't help but start paying attention to the theater for any possible funny business. I'm sure a lot of people were doing it, but it's a shame I felt that I had to.

I'm pissed, I was going to link an article where CNN blamed video games for the shooting friday, but I lost the page. I had a huge rant and everything too.

It's funny though (yes this is part of said rant), how whenever major violence breaks out these days regarding younger adults and children, video games get blamed. If you take a second to look at the games generally blamed, they're all american made. So....america is blaming itself for our stupidity, and viciously attacking itself in regards to it as well. Same thing with blaming the movie....an american comic book made into an american feature length film. Is it kind of retarded or am I just seeing things?

Show him Batman Begins. It's the most tame of the group, with the scarecrow being only scary looking and very few people being killed in gruesome ways. If he can handle that well (I'd wait a few weeks for nightmares or strange behavior) try the second one and third. Idk about Rises, but Dark Knight was definitely a but more extreme in nature, and joker could be scary to a young kid still.

I'm not blaming the parents for this, but who the hell are these parents that bring their infants and kids to a midnight showing of a show that is not kid-friendly? What in the hell.
They are fucking morons, sir. Mother fucking morons. A child should be asleep at THE WORST 10 pm, not at a movie theater. If any of the fellow rpgfan-ers have done this, just know that I do not intend to reword it to make it seem less serious, or certain situations are exempt. No, if you have your young child out at 12am watching a goddamn movie, I don't care if it's the little mermaid 3; ariel's shiny new comb, you are a fucking moron.
2002  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Today's News on: July 20, 2012, 12:44:09 PM
My favorite part of this story thus far is how the media is trying to blame the movie for the person's actions. He was wearing black tactical gear and a gas mask and riot helmet, and in the movie Bane wears a specialized mask and fatigues. Obviously the relation is there...because bane uses guns to brutally beat his enemies to death....owait.

Meanwhile, the "glorified" violence of the film aside, a man is taking a stand against psychos and villians using non fatal means. But hey, don't blame the movie for the police officers and soldiers of the world fighting to make a difference. Fucking media.

FFXII gameplay BLEW
XII as a game blew, but its gameplay and gambit system were actually pretty cool.

Bored yet, Dagger?
2007  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Kingdoms of Amalur destroys economy of small state; millions presumably starve. on: July 19, 2012, 10:08:35 PM
Hilarious....but why is this in the MMOs category?

Because Kingdoms of Amalur is an MMO and presumably this is going to kill it.

Unless KoA isn't an MMO in which case, er, whoops.
It was supposed to be....but I don't think it made it there.
2008  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What game related stuff do you collect? on: July 19, 2012, 04:13:06 PM
I bought a few figures for my ultra super special favorite games (at the time, Metal Gear and Halo) but sadly, my asshole sisters decided to throw em out on me. Pissed me off real good, and helped establish my lack of desire to collect.

I tell you what though, if I ever find a Metal Gear Solid 1 Solid Snake figure with a Socom pistol and a cigarette in mouth, I'd probably buy it on the spot. Not some online shit though, like in a mall or a store or something. Has to be spontaneous, out of the blue.

Oh, I'd also probably do the same for a proper Mega Man X or Legends figure. Oohhhh, if I found a Megaman Volnutt with swappable arm cannons....I may squeal like a piglet.
2009  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of PlayStation(s) revealed on: July 19, 2012, 01:51:13 PM
Easy there prime, abyss doesn't look that terrible. It's competent PS2 level graphics for a mid life PS2 rpg. Having played it only a couple months ago, it was no eyesore or anything, just looks like an older game. Doesn't detract from the game's feel.
2010  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What's the haps? on: July 18, 2012, 09:05:33 PM
So, my friend just game me a bunch of mangas, just like that. So now I have  21 Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, 11 Death Note, 6 Brave Story, 3 NORA and the first Tales of Symphonia. So, since I don't know anything about those, I really don't know where to start! If anyone has suggestions, please let me know!
Call me a chick but Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles was kinda cool. Kurogane is a badass. I'd start there.
