1996  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Your game play log on: May 11, 2012, 09:13:43 PM
The only game I'm putting up here is Phantasy Star Online, and that's because between 3 characters, I accumulated over 6000 hours of gameplay. Psu was 3000 on my one character though, so that's big itself. Anything else is generally at the maximum amount of clockable time, because I tend to leave the game running while I do other stuff, like tales of the abyss which is running in my room right now while I watch CSI NY.

Mp stuff for the weekend, kill 3 million banshees (it was inevitable).

New mp classes soon too. Vorcha imminent.

It would figure that as I start my first playthrough of Tales of the Abyss, new tales stuff is discovered.

It doesn't seem like any screwy DLC shit is going on w/ this game... yet. So if you want it, buy it. Support Capcom games that aren't DLC-murderfests

I kinda see your point but, basically you support Capcom or you don't. If D3 wasn't around the bend, I'd jump on this. I was excited about it, but, I think the phrase fuck crapcom is more fun to say than this game may be.

Good one Agent D, especially if you made that up.

Cheers.

Eh, I've got a negative variation name for every company when they're pissing me off. Just so happens some work better than others...
Crapcom, Square-penis, Failtronic Arts, Activishit, Bust, Whacklus, Nippon Kimchi (I really don't like kimchi so it works), Bioflop....I can't remember other companies right now but I have more.

I thought the Chitauri WERE the Skrulls?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chitauri
Wow....now I feel silly. Course, the movie chitauri look nothing like the skrulls... and most of the stuff I've seen has always had the skrulls labeled as skrulls. Confusion I guess, but meh, what are you gonna do.
2001  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: May 09, 2012, 05:19:02 PM
In all fairness, I would say this movie was meant to test the waters. The Avengers was never as big aa some of the other marvel productions in mainstream society, so to throw out the big villians early would be a bit risky. I mean, what if this was a stinker, and they tossed in thanos, galactus, and the kree? Wasted potential, and angry fans. I personally liked the use of Loki and the chitauri, but to be honest, I've yet to see thor, so maybe I didn't get my fill from that. The way they poke at thanos at the end was definitely coolsauce.

How come you didn't like the awesome one liner from the hulk, Lard? I thought it was the best line in the movie. More importantly, how come you don't like Ruffalo? He's so Bruce Banner, moreso than the last 2 actors by far (though Ed Norton does get kudos for being tolerable). And Hawkeye was so much more serious in this, unlike his comic character who is a bit too smart ass-y for me. I like the more serious hawkeye, but then again, I like Jeremy Renner so yeah....

2 was good, but it was less frightening overall. I will admit.....the ending can fuck with you, and the start is hectic.

1 had an ongoing sense of fright the whole game. I always feared what was around the corner, 2 didn't have that effect on me.

I look forward to hearing how this is, and maybe a lucky day 1 via gamefly. Otherwise, fuck crapcom, still unhappy with all of their shit.

Still say the game was pretty cool looking, and not too shabby control and gameplay wise.

I will buy this.

I will wet my pants at this.

I will enjoy this.

I'd bet Yoda is a strawberry fields kind of guy.

Fuck Korra, she is a whore, fucking with Bo Lin like that. I hope she gets her powers blocked....fucking bitch.

Someone's bitter.  I thought it was fine.  She showed reluctance for a date in the first place.  More appalling than her treatment is the avatar-style, out of thin air, approach to romance building.  That is to say, I don't by that there should be one yet.  ...why the fuck am I analyzing a tween show???
Because secretly, you have Korra bedsheets and an aang pillow case.

Fuck Korra, she is a whore, fucking with Bo Lin like that. I hope she gets her powers blocked....fucking bitch.

But yeah, the show is really keeping a good pace. Very enjoyable, very nostalgic, but still new and fresh. It reminds me of deja vu, but a good version of it.

Young justice was sort of boring this week, and beast boy is even more annoying now then he was in teen titans. However, next week's episode looks to be a big hit if you've been following everything til now.

Thundercats....Lion-o has a new lady friend, oooohhhh. I kind of like how Pumyra looks so much like her original design, but is a very large flip in personality, and she obviously has a thing for the young king, and it seems mutual. On the flipside of that, I'm already tired of tygra and cheetara. They need to fuck, have kittens, and get off the cheesy teenage lovey-dovey shit.

Man, cartoons are getting really romance driven lately.  I almost miss the days of meatheads and learning a lesson by the end of an episode.

You're a goofball. The humor was perfect.

Renner is ok... but to be honest I think he's got a scrunched up magoo face

Some of the humor felt like they tried too hard, almost like Joss Whedon felt that if he couldn't get the movie to sell itself at this point, at least people will laugh as .....well the moment I mentioned earlier. I may be a slight bit overly critical, but The Avengers as a franchise is always very second tier compared to other comic stuff, and on top of the newer series being dropped, I just felt that the extra humor was making it something more than it needed to be. It was funny, I laughed at every moment, but on a quick look back, I didn't see some of it as necessary (again, the thor and hulk moment).

It was kind of like in Iron Man 2, when Stark grabs that shield and said it was perfect. Then he uses it as a fucking shim basically. Yes, people laughed, but it was a cheap laugh, especially if you're nerdy enough to know why it was a cheap laugh (the metal he created is what cap's shield is later made of, vibranium, or at least that's what it was hinted at).

I guess I'm being overly critical because honestly....the movie was astounding. I find no other real faults with it, outside of ...
Code:
Agent Coulson's OBVIOUS faked death, he's sort of a big S.H.I.E.L.D. character if I remember right and Clark Gregg is already in talks about reprising his role again in the sequel
. They could have done a better plot device.than that, especially with the trading cards....I mean cmon.

Yoda, eat my ass Renner is awesome, and Mr. Magoo is the fucking man.
2009  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: May 05, 2012, 04:00:39 AM
Yeah, saw the avengers too. Gotta admit....was definitely impressive. I personally disliked the cheap puns and jokey moments they used (one scene where hulk and thor are standing side by side comes to mind), but I gladly can forgive that based on the rest of the awesomeness of the flick. I definitely approve of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk (he did the motion capturing for the hulk in this movie, making him officially the only actor to play both roles), and Jeremy Renner made Hawkeye, who I never really found impressive in the cartoon or comic books, be so damned awesome. Everything done in this movie was spot on outside my little gripe about the humor. If you enjoyed any of the recent marvel movies, then this is a movie you want to see.

Also of note, the trailer for amazing spiderman blew my mind.
2010  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Agent D's House of Rant. on: May 03, 2012, 07:34:34 PM
Yeah, that's what happens when you have a weird ass citizenship that thinks that people should do what they want... until they disapprove, then censor them.
Well, at least they wait to censor something until a large number or people (more than 5) complain about it being bad or indecent or what not.
