Everything's settled. Leave Monday.
Had my last beer in Toronto today.
Enjoy your dial-up porn....hope you actually do something good though, and don't catch bubonic plague or something equally third world-y.
2012  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Mass Effect: Paragon Lost -- November 13th, 2012 on: July 13, 2012, 01:19:10 PM
As a flick, it looks cool.

As a continuation of Mass Effect, I don't like how it looks. It's too anime-y. What I saw there was an action anime, extremely exaggerated and unrealistic. One of my big loves of Mass Effect is the lack of the one man vs one army concept. Shepard always made it a point to say he couldn't win by himself, and that he was a driving force for sure, but not the only force to speak of. Several of the scenes showed one guy pulling off the one vs one thousand stand off maneuver. I'll watch it, but I doubt this will do the series any justice whatsoever.

So where does his role as Shark Bait from Deep Blue Sea land?

He didn't even get off even one speech before 'suddenly gibed by scientifically modified shark'.
Wrong black guy sir, that was Samuel L. Jackson. Though in keeping with the questioning, where in the hierarchy is his wanted role? The man played god...unlike in Bruce and Evan Almighty where he actually played God.

Isn't it a bit out of order? I mean, a freed slave should be above an inmate, even if the slave was free during the early 1840s.

When your next big RPG saga hits and 1/3 of the player base you had prior doesn't show up, you'll know why.

Considering their next title might be Dragon Age 3... erg...
Furthering my point, how many people shat on dragon age 2, which was a step backward in nearly everyway (except for me, I didn't like 1 in the first place).
2016  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Mass Effect 3 (expect ME1&2 spoilers) on: July 12, 2012, 10:41:54 PM
I think the game is now 4 months old and this arguement has kind of staled a bit now. Bioware trolled us, good job guys. Your endings are terrible, except the only good one because it's the most "human" ending ever, and it still ends poorly (albeit entertainingly) for it. When your next big RPG saga hits and 1/3 of the player base you had prior doesn't show up, you'll know why. When you spout shit about choosing your path and we disbelieve you, it'll be understood why. When you name the game after a concept found in the game, we'll know it will eventually have nothing to do with the final focus of the story.

Don't bite the hands that feed you.

Sucks man, I was almost looking forward to it. I mean hell, even the PSUpedia guys were enjoying it now. They're as bitter as parn is about Resident Evil games.

Annnnnnnd PSO2 is already hacked to the point of being unable.to advance quests regarding npcs....

http://m.kotaku.com/5925366/phantasy-star-online-2-hacked-as-an-alleged-prank

Short version is allegedly non-jp players have adjusted npc locations to unreachable areas, such as behind walls and windows, in the air, out of sight and so on. Being that the game works on a quest system for progression, not being able to interract with some npcs results in the inability to finish quests and not advance to new locations. Sega has banned 75 accounts regarding this and rmt in game....in a free to play game. So yeah, Sega is on the ball, though they haven't fixed the issue as of yet.

So that western release is REALLY looking promising now.

Looks more like bum Keanu in that photo...inspirational if you're into dirty beards.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't that amy adams in the photo to his right?

2023  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: .Hack on: July 12, 2012, 02:02:11 AM
But yeah, .hack was a silly game based on a silly anime...or vice versa, idk, it was crap on both ends.

It was both. SYNERGY!!!

Yeah, that approach didn't seem to really catch on.
You're telling me, I'm still trying to figure it out in FFXI....owait.
2024  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy XI - Journal! on: July 12, 2012, 02:01:10 AM
FFXI has never had anywhere close to a million concurrent subscribers.  The game at the apex of its glory before World of Warcraft stormed the world surpassed half a million.

Dead accurate on the profitability though.  Square is still making money off of FFXI.
You think the number is that low? I would have figured at least over 1 mil to warrant a new expansion. Meh, doesn't matter given that every month would mean a roughly translated 6.5 million dollars a month in subscription fees, minus server costs and such. Call me old fashioned, but thats pretty decent bank for a "dying" game.
2025  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: .Hack on: July 12, 2012, 01:53:50 AM
.hack games were generally boring as shit, because they took the narrative for one game and spread it out among three or four, with pointless padding and inane gameplay.

The fact that people are harassing Namco Bandai to continue to bring this series over stupefies me.
I think trying to say your name five times fast would stupefy anyone, nyuck nyuck.

But yeah, .hack was a silly game based on a silly anime...or vice versa, idk, it was crap on both ends. The only cool thing was the music in like 2 areas. I had more fun on my trip to Blockbuster Video to rent it than I did playing it.
