2371  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Soda in NY/ Bad Food ONT! on: October 26, 2012, 10:48:17 AM
I wanna counter that so badly, but it's a solid suggestion. Doesn't work for my case, as I can't sprout a third hand and generally food and drinks aren't allowed on site, but for 98% of everyone else with a normal job, it's indeed a good suggestion. 9/10 Yoda, I concede this round.

So I recently joined a gym by where I live, as I feel that I need to change myself...not necessarily lose weight, but get physically fit. Losing weight is just part of the result that happens. I'm not going to make this like a personal updates topic for me, but I'd like to put in some of the personal gains I've made.

Today, I biked 3 miles in 10 minutes maintaining a 17.5 mile per hour average speed. /end cardio
Weight lifting side, I maxed out at 200 lbs for 6 reps on tricep extensions and upright rows, 200lbs for 4 reps on seated cable rows, 120 lbs for 6 reps on pec fly, 70lbs for 6 reps on straight barbell curls, 85 lbs per hand for 10 reps on dumbell shoulder shrugs, 160 lbs for 6 reps on lat pull downs, and 130 lbs for 5 reps on preacher curls.

I want to note that for the weight lifting, all the mentioned excersizes are the final set of 4, generally consisting of 10-10-8-6 reps. As you can see, some of them are not quite 6 reps, because I straight bitched out and stopped lifting. I used to weight lift in high school, and being in a heavy labor-intensive field has at least stalled my complete fatass-imilation from taking over. I'll probably mention new stuff and add a picture end of the month or something.

Drink water if you're concerned about the cost of empty calories
You ever find water at a worksite where most of the site is a construction zone? Yeah, doesn't happen very often, resorting to store where I still need to buy water. If I'm home, sure, water is the most cost effective option, I'm not buying a small bottle of water for $1.50 when a can of shitty iced tea is double the size at a buck. Even mcdonalds charges for a cup of water, fucking lame. Water is free....my ass.

I'd rather have a pimple on my forehead and an extra dollar in my pocket then be 30 bucks short for rent at the end of the month. Clean skin doesn't keep a roof over my head, inexpensive food and drink helps though.

I guess I'll just drink more arizona iced teas. They're cheaper anyway.

There is no meaningful difference between these and sodas.

Pretty sure cost is fairly meaningful.

So Lance Armstrong got owned. Poor dude, he's had such a terrible few years...being with Sheryl Crow...what a horror.

(obvious gag should be obvious)

@Dice: Hah, my dad walks into my room while I'm gaming and curses at me AND my friends online. It's become so regular that everyone laughs about it. Meicyn's been around for it a few times, and always has a laugh about it.

Been fucking busy as all hell recently. Ton of install work, 5 different locations, more cat.6, rca, hdmi, toslink, vga, rs232, neutrek, iec, and every other possible type of power/data/video/audio/IT connection then I ever cared to see in my life. It's amazing how I don't lose my mind doing it. I just (almost) finished re-assembling a home entertainment equipment rack on the upper west side, more equipment in it then most of you guys probably have for your home entertainment centers combined. It's impressive, considering the people who bought it don't even use it.

Nothing like working in residential buildings....you get booted out at certain times no matter how tangled in a mess of wire you are.

The Five Guys at Dulles Airport opens at 6:30 AM. I love America.
Careful not to go there during the winter, Bruce Willis tends to blow up planes there

He was awesome. I would play games in my room and he would walk over and just chill, meow to get me to pet him a little bit, then walk out and go sleep somewhere awkward. He got out once, but came home, which resulted in him just leaving whenever he felt like. The last time he left he never came home...but every now and then I'd be sitting in my garage playing some games (kind of like a man cave for my teenage years) and he'd walk over, come inside and chill for a bit. He'd let me pet him a little bit, and then he'd walk off again. He was the king of the neighborhood...my little badass. I ended up moving a year after that and basically lost track of him...he'd be 13 now. Wasn't the friendliest kitty but he was so cool...

I'm sorry to hear about your loss dude. It may have been a pet, but he may as well have been your brother from the sound of it. Just remember, you gave him a good life, even if it was undeservingly short, and that you also have another lovely kitty friend who's there for support. Cats are pretty good at being there when you need it.

Makes me miss my pall Meep...

New Young Justice today...so glad its back. I think they changed the artists up a bit, because characters look slightly different, especially for close ups. Cheshire, for example, when they closed in on her rage face, there was so much more detail than I ever remember from thr old episodes. I like it, even if she looked like an angry old lady for it.

Introducing Arsenal...heh heh.
2383  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Resident Evil 6 on: September 27, 2012, 07:23:55 PM
I'm a nitpicker, but how can you say the controls were awkward? Functionality haa been vastly improved, the speed is overall faster, the melee combat handled incredibly well once you figured it out (initial melee is a stun, similarly to shooting a knee or shoulder in RE4 and 5, followups were instant kills). I don't see a problem with x being the everything button, it's far better than wasting a button for something as trivial as readying the knife. I agree that the cover system is complete shit, and I doubt it's gonna be fixed, but I barely used it anyway. Sure Chris' campaign felt like a scene out of CoD, but blame that on the people of the world being mindless zombies (see what I did there?).

I like it, and I really hope it does well.
2384  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Next 10 years of Mega Man being discussed by "Top Men" at Capcom on: September 21, 2012, 11:51:48 AM
I am not pleased by this. They better put X in the next Dragon's Dogma to sooth my rage.
2385  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Resident Evil 6 on: September 21, 2012, 01:38:55 AM
As a resident evil title, I am disappointed. It's not scary at all anymore, the fright factor is gone. It's a shame, even the cheap thrills feel have no real fear inducing effect. I mean christ, enemies are on the floor and inactive, and you trip over them as you walk. It's as bad as smash brothers brawl's stupid ass tripping. Chris's scenario was so action paced it didn't have any feel of impending doom at all. You wanted to rush forward and just destroy shit....

Which leads me to my actual opinion. The new controls are astounding, if a bit difficult to get used to at first. Reminded me of going from MGS3 to MGS4. It feels familiar, but so much more to it. It actually reminded me of mgs4 with the rolling and prone fire. Running in as Chris and just shooting everything in so many ways... I was in my glory. The new melee tactics are impressive too, like Leon's awesome bulldog, and the facesmash against walls and fences. The new controls are a huge step in the right direction. They SERIOUSLY need to fix cover though. It's far too flaky as it stands, sometimes you go in, most of the time you eat a shitstorm of bullets. The qte you saw in yggdrasil's video is sort of misleading, it's actually not so silly, you're choosing directions to look in and find the keys, not just run through predetermined motions in a set time limit. More qte's like that would be nice, like if a large enemy grabbed you and you had to aim your knifr at a weak point to stab instead of just mashing your controller like a fiend to get out of its grip, similarly to dead space.

The demo has me excited, I really look forwars to this game.
