Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to find my soulmate or anything there, but to see a girl write in the "message me if" section and then writes "you like (x game series)" and sure enough it's one of your damn favorite series ever, you get a little flustered to not get a reply. I don't wanna go nuts in case she ever comes to this board (YEAH, I am THAT neurotic), but I basically asked how if she was excited for the new titles in the series being made. Not even a loaded question. It basically leads me to think she saw my profile photo and said UNGH HE'S FAT and shot me down, and I know I shouldn't think that way, but as I probably put here many times in the past, years and years of verbal abuse from my peers have given me the self esteem of an 8 month pregnant woman. As soon as I even think about something like "oh she thinks I'm a fatty" I pretty much go all self wallowy...

For fucks sake I'm one of the strongest mother fuckers in the bronx now, why do I let shit like this bug me?! I think I need a therapist.

Sorry, ranting. It happens now and then. Weight lifting hasn't cured all my rage issues...

Man, I really hate how I find people on Okcupid who fucking gel so well with everything I love, and then I send them a message and they don't reply. I rarely message people just because I hate rejection, but I hate being left hanging. Makes me miserable, like  watching someone in agony and not being able to do anything. I understand that the ladies on these websites probably get a million messages with dick picks or lameass "wanna fuck" messages, but I mean, I have the same inbox they have, and no message I have ever sent started with Wanna or a question in general, and usually runs longer than 2 lines....

I would rather get slapped in the face for thinking I had a chance with a girl (their opinion) then get shot down politely, but I'd take either over being left hanging and waiting. Seriously, pain is easy and usually makes me angry and eager to do something (i.e. exercise), but fear from waiting is just sickening, it makes me not want to do anything. To every woman out there, please just fucking shoot a guy down if you aren't interested, they will always be upset, but far less than anything else you could do...or not do in my case.

Soups are just awesome. Maybe I'll post one of my soup recipes next :)

One of my favourites to make is either my Cream of Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper soup or my Scotch Broth. Maybe I'll do the Scotch Broth because it is A) More Interesting and B) Scottish Culture and All.

@Klutz - I'd love to cater for such an event. :) We just gonna make it happen. Also, Lentil Soups are some of my favourites and also something MY Mum used to make a lot. :)

@Agent: I'm happy to give others the red meat duty. :P
Hey grilled chicken is pretty awesome too.

I know who's catering if we ever do a RPGFan get together!

(Answer: It's Starmongoose)

Dice can provide the soup course. I love soups, it's one thing I love to make too since it's easy to change up a recipe and experiment. One of my favorite recipes inherited from my Mom is a lentil soup.
Parn better man the grill. I've seen his brisket, he knows what he's doing behind a fire.

Hello, friend!!

we're all a family of night owls.  Nothing like homemade popcorn at 3am!
(we use the kernals, not the bag though)

I made some homemade chicken soup the other day!  My nephew loves it, so I like making it for us him!

No real tips and tricks here.  Put chicken in pot.  Boil.  Then let it sit in a light heat for many hours.  Then take out the chicken, put some pieces into the soup, save the rest for a chicken wrap!  Soup n' Salad?  MORE LIKE SUPERSALAD.
You forgot the mirepoix, no chicken soup is complete without the diced up carrots, onions, and celery.

I SUCK at fishing in Breath of Fire IV.  Line snaps 98% of the time.the other 2% of the time it gets stuck on the bottom.
The fishing minigame in IV was a lot more annoying. Those fish had freakish stamina and usually didn't care when they were bone dry on it, they'd fight like whales anyway. Much preferred IIIs minigame. The gear was overall more useful too, especially in the beginning.

Hey, all I did was toss some ideas that floated into my head at him. I am in no way gonna be upset if he doesn't use any of them or uses all of them. Maxx, make what you will of my gift to you sir, and good luck in any case.

Guess it's mostly due to my bear-like qualities, but cold floors don't bug me. I usually sleep in boxers and maybe a t shirt all year round, even in the dead of winter so yeah, I may be nuts. I also have flintstone feet, so short of super hot sun baked concrete I can usually withstand anything. I regularly take my trash out barefoot in the snow in the winter.

I beat Digital Devil Saga 2 late yesterday, making this the first SMT I've finished on Hard.  Compared to Meganada, Brahman was practically a pushover. Om Mani Padme Hm.

Overall, this was a really good game.  The plot and characterization were both improved from DDS1, but the star of this game is the battle system, which is right up there with the best of SMT.

Here, have some battle music.

<PS2 backlog clear>
<Backlog games remaining:
7>
Arguably the best main battle theme in any game ever.

Since you say modern culture, can I toss an idea out?

Setting is a large city, something like NYC, and people are rising up against the tyrannical government. You are a veteran cop and have been assigned a new partner who is eager to please you, as you're well known on the force, but little does hevknow you are also the leader of a resistance movement trying to assasinate the current leader....

As I'm LITERALLY coming up with this as I type, I wanna toss out a few more quick ideas that aren't quite fleshed out yet. I figure at one point you get found out by your partner who turns out to be the son of the leader you want to kill and that he was planted to find out how deep you are. However, it's a torn decision because as he works with you he sees what is happening and he wants to help, and after some time he comes to help you again in hopes to save his father from death, but end his rule. You come across fellow officers and resistance members, and even citizens who simply desire to help in some way or another ( quests, party members, new equipment suppliers, etc). Before the end of the game though, you will find out that the leader is more or less a figurehead, being manipulated from behind the scenes by a more terrifying force and worse yet, they're after you to take over the reigns of leading the society as you've built so many bridges and created hope where it is once lost....

That's all I got so far, really raw, rough idea.

That almost sounds like a grimdark version of Citizens of Earth.  Now there was a game that completely overstayed its welcome.  It was goofy fun for about 12 hours, but then it wore out its welcome.  That game was not meant to be a 40 hour epic.  It was a 40 hour slog.
Not gonna lie, I was at first aiming for goofy similar to that, but then it took a real turn and I went with cop and rebellion. I actually had a few more ideas from it but forgot them entirely... great ideas always work like that :(

New idea!

You're a farmer in a very rural town by thriving cities on all sides. You'vre created a new crop enhancement formula that all the big industries are fighting over getting from you, but you aren't interested. So a handful of the largest corporations' office heads get together to figure out a way to force your hand. They kidnap your wife and dog, but the dog escapes albeit getting wounded in the process. You have no choice but to try your crop enhancement formula on him in hopes it may boost his healing (sciency shit), but it ends up making him super powered. You and your super dog now are up against the biggest fast food chains and food corporations around the world to save your wife, and other farmers are ready to aid you in exchange for some of that super crop formula.

There would have to be a farming minigame, of course.

73  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: FINAL FANTASY XV, This is a fantasy based on reality. on: August 06, 2015, 01:47:54 PM
I just don't get how people don't understand that-- all the 'IT HAS BEEN IN DEVELOPMENT FOR TEN YEARS' and 'IT LOOKED BETTER BEFORE WTF' seem to miss that XV and Versus aren't the same game. Same characters, same concept (as you mentioned), but a totally new game built on that. Started like, three years ago, not ten. Marketing snafu for sure, but people just really want to believe this game has been in active development for ten years.

Also that Leviathan art hngh
To be fair, the fact that it's using the same characters and some concepts from Versus, wouldn't that actually mean it HAS been in development the whole time, but in reality scrapped at one point, meaning 7 years of work wasted? I mean in any case the whole situation reeks of fails, but I mean...we can gussy it up in a bunch of ways but it still is kind of 10 years between Versus and now XV.
