Last night I sold off a bunch of original PS games that I know I'll never have the time (or interest) to get back to: Off into that sweet night went Suikoden I and II, Parasite Eve II and Breath of Fire I - III.  I also came THIS close to getting rid of Alundra, Threads of Fate and Legend of Dragoon.  But dumping that much of my youth in one swoop would have been too much for my soul to bear.  Some lucky asshole is going to stumble across a gold mine at the local disc replay this week,
BoF 1 and 2 weren't on playstation. You had SNES copies of breath of fire and you sold them? Dude I furking haet yuo.

Balls, I meant III - IV.  Thanks for the correction.
Ok, I haet yuo slightly less now since I can rebuy both of those pretty easily.

Guardian Forces=Worst FF plot device EVER.

Does anyone know if there's an active platform that I can legally acquire and/or play the old Lufia games, particularly Lufia II?

SNES or DS

FTFY. The DS remake is practically an entirely different game. The only similarity is that the DS's plot is basically the highlights reel of Lufia 2.

The first one did make it to the Wii's VC. The problem is that its only the first one.
Gotta admiy, the music in the ds remake is awesome.

@Max
Idk if mmo's are your thing, but I recently found one for cellphones called Arcane Legends, it's actually pretty decent in operation. Runs smoothly and doesn't have those stupid timers everywhere for attacking or running a dungeon. Reminds me of Champions of Norath for PS2.

Resuscitating this thread to ask if I should play Skies of Arcadia Chronicles (GCN) or Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter (PS2) after I finally finish off Lunar 2?  I've owned both for years, but haven't gotten further than a half hour into either.

I tend to like games with a more serious tone and I don't have time to learn a hokey or overly complicated battle system.  The more straight forward, the better.

BoFV is a more unique game part of RPGs in general and the BoF series itself.  It's pretty dark and strange, and will make you work for your ending.

The safer bet is Skies.  It's fantastic from start to finish, but with a pretty high encounter rate and some kinda sludgey graphics by now.
Dice speaks true, Skies is an overall much more approachable game. I am a massive breath of fire fan myself, but I could never really enjoy DQ all that much. I got to a village once and pretty much gave up. Skies...man, I maxed out Vyse's stats entirely, I played it so hard. Nothing like 3 shotting the final boss...good times.

Sorry, he meant Yeager.
Yeah I figured, Taelus usually doesn't fit the "asshole" archetype. Fucking nice guys.

Short version, unmanned supply rocket that was to be sent to the International Space Station blew up about 7 seconds after launch.

Welp, guess that clears that bit up.

Since we're doing "sky" with this expansion, I wonder if they'll do "sea" next like a certain other MMO.  Heh.
OH GOD FUCK YOU.

What offers the best possible upgrade to light? Exotic helms, bracers, or chestplates?

Man I feel like a dork
All standard legendaries cap out at 27, all raid gear and exotic pieces cap at 30. Raid gear and exotic armor all have the same defense value per segment, so the only difference between an exotic and a raid piece is the effects and the sub stat values. When it come to your loadout, you should consider an exotic piece that benefits your sub class and then raid gear for the other 3 slots to maximize light level and beneficial effects. As the nerd loser I am right now have 4 different exotic armors, 2 heads and 2 bodies, for different situations. Mostly though, I use the armamentarium for titan cuz of fhe extra grenade and heavy ammo. I also have 2 full sets of raid armor for my titan...so yeah....loser nerd status, lol.

^ Same here. Sad day indeed. But I was amused at this years' "What the hell is this doing in my pocket!?" which turned out to be one of the pom-poms my cat plays with.

2 receipts from mcdonalds.
8 cents.
6 napkins.
A pen.
A tweaker screwdriver.

I was impressed that I only had that much crap in my pockets this time.
