So, I watched Gunbuster and, no hyperbole, it was pretty good. I've meant to watch it for a long time since it is referenced so often visually and has an important place in Mecha cannon, but I hadn't got around to it until now. I like how it had a number of Anno's tendencies in an unpolished format. If I had to praise it for one thing it would be that it has one of the best, if not the best finale I've ever seen on television.

Now to watch Diebuster.

This song is really dramatic!
Those who don't like disco, beware!

I worked for Blockbuster for 2 and a half years and I didn't find it too bad. If you have the time to establish a rapport with costumers, everything gets better even the dumbass up-selling and trying to make quotas. To be fair, a video rental store probably has more repeat customers than something strictly in the business of selling and repeat costumers make the whole thing more bearable. Maybe, it is just that I have no problem serving people.

The best thing I got out of it was money the fact that I can empathize with clerks so much more now. Most retail workers just don't seem to care about the products or customers so I like to throw people for a loop when I buy things because they did a good job not sounding like a tired asshole when up-selling. I tell them why I fell for their plot and they usually laugh and are thankful, it makes the whole experience better on both ends.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure of all the franchises to mention RE is one of the worst to pick. Resident Evil takes it self ridiculously seriously, it has one of the most ridiculous identity crisis' of all time. Some people might disagree, but IMO Silent Hill has more jokes at its expense all the time. Plus, the UFO endings etc.... It is because nobody remembers that the franchise is stupid to begin with that we ended up with RE 5 and 6.

Metal Gear takes itself down a peg all the time and is constantly goofy, but when it is serious it means business. Final Fantasy is never quite that goofy or that focused so I don't know where to rate that.

Part 1: Kyle had the best picks overall.

Part 2: That Valdis Story song was incredible. How did I not know about this game?

Part 3: I played Kings Quest (I believe 4-6) when I was younger and all of my memories are either laughing at funny descriptions or getting frustrated at puzzles. I had no memory of the music and Princess Casima's theme is super good.

Part 4: No dissing Phil Collins. He was part of Genesis at their prime, a little while ago I posted A trick of the Tail in the Song of the moment thread. The whole album is great.

but I love Shimomura. The music in this game is so good.

This is in fact the main reason you were hired. Yes, I have that kind of pull.

Also, haven't played this yet, but Derek brought the music to my attention. It is indeed awesome.
Like they say, it's not who you know it's who's music you like.

I kinda feel this.  I'm not terribly excited for these games' announcements but happy when I do play them and whoever writes for the games does a damn fine job.  Mario RPG really jived better with me overall though.

I've always liked Super Mario RPG the best, the gameplay just clicks better to me. Luckily, every Mario RPG is pretty good - when I pick one up I'm always pleased.

Show him any major scene with the horse. Everybody loves Max.

My grammar is terrible, I never presume to be correct when it comes to grammar. Plus, if I was correcting you I'd be a much more obvious dick.

No, I was expressing my love for Tangled, I just thought I'd have to write less if I copied what you wrote. C'est la vie. ;)

I know I've said this before, but I love Shimomura. The music in this game is so good. So is the humour.

I've seen TANGLED.

I love, love, love it. 10x better than Princess and the Frog.

You're must protect the video from the missiles! I recommend The Final Countdown.

She's the new Pink Argus from Phoenix Ranger Featherman R. So basically she's the Pink Ranger and it is awesome.

It looks so good. I can't wait to see it.

I saw Elysium and it was pretty good. Not quite as strong as District 9, but Blomkamp stretches his money really far to create a really strong believable world. I felt the beginning was stronger than the action because of too much shaky cam. The best part: Sharlto Copely as an Insane Hobo Samurai with exploding shuriken. The worst part: hearing the audience deflate as the ending got more and more schmaltzy. I didn't mind the ending, but I think it totally ruined the movie for some people.

I don't have anymore money. I just can't back anything anymore!
