So I've been trying to pick a week to challenge myself in being 100% positive for the entire week, but it's not going well. This week is smack dab in the middle of football season, I just started endgame content in FFXIV, and people are talking about BlizzCon. The following three weeks are going to be hell at work. So I guess I won't be able to attempt this with any chance of success until December.

Perhaps I am as jaded as I fear I may be.

If you're looking for exploration, Super Mario Galaxy isn't going to satisfy. It's still a really fun game, but it's not your traditional "Find all the stuffs" 3D Mario game. I think the days of those are long gone (Though SMG2 has a really fun "find the green stars" challenge after you finish)

As an aside, how is the 3ds version?

I'm not a huge fan of platformers, but there's only one place I know of that sells English 3DS games here, so choices are limited.

Liked it, didn't love it. Though that's how I've felt about all Mario platformers for the past few years.

After my hatred for 4 Heroes of Light, it's going to take some convincing for me to pick this up.

For starters, there better not be any MULTIPLAYER ONLY gear. (Yes, that is where my hatred for 4 Heroes comes from. I have strange pet peeves)

FUN NOTE: Before I caught my typo, that first line read "4 Herpes of Light"

That is literally the craziest deal I have ever heard of and no amount of logical thinking can come up with a way they would actually make any money off of this.

Constantly getting stuck in a bad party in Aurum Vale would be tolerable if it was actually capable of weeding out those players that cannot for the life of them learn to pay attention. Yet somehow they get through to endgame dungeons.

That is unbelievable. Square Enix needs to stop fucking around with Patch 2.1 and fix these parts of the game that are broken and/or ripe for exploitation.

EDIT: Well they seem to be on the ball. Shut down Worlds almost immediately and apparently were able to address the issue. But really, they need to stop fixing these exploits on a case-by-case basis and really look at their security measures.

I normally play as Monk which requires a fair amount of repositioning for max DPS. For that particular guildhest though, I was levelling Lancer for the Blood for Blood skill. And yeah, other DPS players understand that DPS isn't all fun and games, but most of the people that play mainly tanks or healers think that just because if DPS dies it's not instant wipe that they don't matter quite as much.

Yesterday I got the extremely rare "Thank you" for being a good DPS. Was doing the Morbol Guildhest with the bubbles and our other DPS was either a dipshit or a troll and kept attacking the purple bubbles while I was alone in taking out the blue ones. Also when we got the occasional Jam, the tank didn't bother getting the aggro so I was also busy keeping those off our healer. Just as things were getting out of sorts, the LB bar filled and I used it to finish off the Morbol.

After the fight, the healer thanked me personally. It felt great 'cause DPS is a pretty thankless job. People are always assuming anyone who chooses to play DPS is taking the easy/lazy role.

I also ordered stuffs from Klyde and was more than satisfied with the stuffs arrival, despite his overzealous use of tape =P

Finally! After a two week detour, I at last have Blood for Blood in my Monk's arsenal and can start my relic quest and WP.

Aaaannd Relic Step 2 is pretty much where you learn how ridiculous the Materia conversion system in this game is. Even the online guides basically say "Yeaahh... it's kind of random. Good luck."Just spent the 50k on the two materia I needed (and eventually more on the pieces I converted that I needed for other jobs)

I had a lot of fun with that mini Chocobo RPG! (in the PC version of FF8 it just opened in a separate window)

Eternal Sonata:

I forgot just how hilariously OP Viola is when she joins your party. It, however, does not make Fort Fermata any less of an awful dungeon.

Eh, I think both Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican are delicious. Love Southwestern food!

That much I understand. I was just talking about on the forums how the game is far too linear for an MMO. Equipment progression is especially purely linear with absolutely no lateral progression whatsoever.
