The whole thing is two fights long, the first you have to repeat until you're a high enough level to finish it with a five-star rating. I don't recommend it unless you're slightly mad-in-the-head like me.

Played through the Lightning DLC for FFXIII-2 the other day. It was pretty cool. I mean, the concept was dumb but it got me excited for the combat in Lightning Returns and provided a nice lead-in to LR as well.

I also reminded myself that I put 120 hours into FFXIII-2. Apparently I kind of liked the game.

Posted my thoughts in here about ToS, but it seems to have disappeared. Basically I just said that after starting with the 3D battlefields, I couldn't get into the 2D ones because everything seemed so cluttered, I couldn't tell what was going on. After my first battle in Symphonia with a full party, I just gave up.

I'm always happy to hear when someone else enjoys FFXIII, I understand how it can be not everyone's cup of tea, but it's a solid game and I feel like the hatred for it is massively inflated by negative hype.

Glad I stuck around for the secret ending in Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded. That was what I was looking for, a way to go into KH 3D knowing what the heck is going on.

I've actually begun to think about cancelling my subscription. Just thinking about running more dungeons to reach myth cap again this week sounds incredibly tedious. Or running CT for more Onion gear. I could work on another class, but that's just more running through instanced dungeons or running around between the same six FATEs forever. And it certainly doesn't sound like 2.2 is going to add anything to break up the monotony of it all.

Maybe this just isn't the MMO for me. I started my character over in Guild Wars 2 and I'm falling in love with the game all over again. So yeah, don't know how much longer I'll be playing FFXIV.

I just realized today how absolutely astounding it is that Square Enix isn't trying to attract more of an audience to this game by lazily attaching the Final Fantasy brand to the title. Makes me hopeful the company still has some soul left.

Maya Fey.

Also, the more I think about her, the less I hate Aqua from KH Birth by Sleep. I actually really like her. She may not have the greatest personality or motivations, but she has one of the most bittersweet character arcs in any JRPG (which says a lot).

Code:
After basically being showered with praise and guaranteed a promising future, she gets dragged along on an adventure that ends with her having to fight her two best friends, and then sacrifices herself AND ensures Terra a lifetime of suffering just to provide a tiny bit of hope of stopping Xehanort. That really brief part of the ending where Ansem tells her about Sora's exploits was such a powerful moment of a character getting closure, I couldn't help but get choked up.

The "Beloved Shirts" ads that keep coming up on the forums are so bizarre and a little creepy. They show off the ugliest sweaters I have ever seen, and then there's the one with the bearded guy hugging a giant carrot while surrounded by aforementioned ugly sweaters. Are they supposed to be ugly? Is that the joke? What is up with the carrot? Is this symbolism?

Trying to get the 20/30 trophies in Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded for the secret ending. Today I was hoping to get at least 4 more trophies, but instead spent most of the day unsuccessfully tying to get all the SP prizes in the last batch of system sectors. Happy I played through it though, as it provides a nice addendum to the endings of Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth by Sleep. And yes, I know Youtube makes unlocking the secret ending unnecessary, but I'm old fashioned and enjoy earning things like that.

Thanks for the wishes folks. My Dad finally called me today, I guess his job is busy trying to pull one over on him, so whatever. As for my sister, I can forgive her seeing as she had her second kid a couple weeks ago and is probably busy still trying to juggle all that. Then again, she's my sister so I'd probably find a reason to forgive her if she stabbed my best friend.

Neither my Dad nor my sister so much as called me on my Birthday. A friend of the family on the other hand got me a 3TB external drive that I've really been wanting. Also had sloppy joes and curly fries for dinner, so all in all not the worst birthday ever.

I was actually dreading the combat in LR and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't full-action DMC hack n' slash style. Not that I don't like that style, just that I'm not very good at it.

Nope! The rumor is the Gaikai streaming of Playstation Now will only be for PS3 games and Sony plans on putting PS1 and PS2 emulators on the PS4 that will work with both digital games and disc-based games. If this is true and I can play stuff in my collection I'm not done with, like Dark Cloud 2, on my PS4, they'll have sold me for sure.

Not silencing the debuff is just asking for a wipe. That I can understand being really frustrated with (as well as standing at the center doing nothing, but that's the awful strategy some people are told... I myself had to unlearn that one)

No, I know the two attacks. Most of the time I panic when she doesn't show up in the middle and take a while to find where on the edge she is, but there has been at least two occasions where I have been just about 90 degrees from where she is and still gotten hit by it.
