It's alive! 2-3 should be up either tomorrow or the day after, and 3-1 by the end of the week, getting us caught up and helping YOU play along again.

Thanks a ton for everyone's patience on this-- I overestimated myself and my workload! I hope you still enjoy the episodes, late though they may be :)

Also Dice I wasn't kidding about the translations.

Hey everyone! I've had a bit of a "way too much because I'm moving to Japan" going on-- it is totally my fault that the episodes are delayed. But know that both 2-2 and 2-3 are recorded and comign VERY soon, and the 3-series should be on time as usual.

DIRECT YOUR DISAPPOINTMENT AT ME

I have no problem keeping up and I do literally 0 of the weekly/daily quest/token things. There are altenrative ways to do it, which is good because I refuse to grind 400 dungeons for gear that will drop from bunnies in the next patch.

is it ok for me to think this is the best final fantasy in years?

Yes, because it is.  It is everything a Final Fantasy game should be and more.

I've been saying that too. Heavensward is completely awesome. The main story is interesting, well-paced (especially for an MMO), and feels super Final Fantasy.

Also seriously the soundtrack:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6rEU_-_P-g (Forelands theme, same melody as below)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCXfzpTUu8I (dungeon name spoilers)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fe9mLH3egLg (ishgard night-time in the Foundation)

I can't say enough good things about it right now.

Arvis--

Actually, we have a tracklist for basically every episode other than the first two! There's a link to it in the RSS feeds, and if you go to the podcast hub, each episode also has a link there!

Also now you guys have me wanting to play Chrono Cross again.

to be honest I probably WOULD read a datalog on FFVII lore LOL

crossing fingers for 'more realistic system' = animations like FFXIII

DON'T MAKE IT AN ACTION RPG SQEX EVEN THOUGH I'D STILL BUY IT AND ENJOY IT EVEN IF YOU DO

The Zodiac version of FFXIII actually gave you a ton of gambits way earlier in the game. It was pretty great.

- "I love you Stephen, but can I ... finish?"  Aww.  So diplomatically done.  Being regularly interrupted is very annoying.  Not being able to freely express your enthusiasm for something is also annoying.  But being able to have a friendly discussion despite irritation is very nice.

I agree! I think Rob and I have worked out a good respect over the years. He knows I don't mean to speak over him (or anyone! I try my best) and I know he doesn't, in fact, hate everything!

E3 show should be recorded very soon-- we wre gonna do a live one, but I was a filthy plan-breaker and wasn't able to be around for such a thing.

Actually it's only because I ran off to LA for e3 for two weeks! We are recording tomorrow and should have the ep up asap!

Personally, I think Nomura is just saying not to expect a pretty version of FFVII's turn-based fighting. I'd be happy with and unsurprising to see the battles look (visually) like FFXIII, with the characters moving around, etc.

Two completely different sounds and composers?
