1  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: tri-Ace's latest is not-Valkyrie Profile (Exist Archive) on: August 01, 2015, 01:31:45 PM
I'm not a fan of most of this game's inspirations and generally not a huge Tri-Ace fan (End of Eternity go go go) but this looks great. Can't wait.

http://www.spike-chunsoft.co.jp/ea/sound/bgm.mp3 also awesome

Yes but there's a poll for 'which DLC characters do you want' so unless we actually think Nintendo is straight up IGNORING that poll and mocking the people who participated, they'll be in.

Plus, Isaac has no reppage. His assist trophy was removed.

And yes, I do. Very much :) Because I am a bad human.

Actually I think that's mistaken. I'd be willing to bet this costume is a precursor to him actually being in the game. He's the top-voted character on the ballot and most unofficial ballots.

More importantly though is that we add Isaac who is often tied for first/second.

It would be ridiculous if they just decided to completely ignore the ballot.

You should join me and Mike and my roommate, I'm always trying to get the former to play more.

While it's not a super easy recommendation, if you have custom firmware on your PSP, there IS a patch that gets rid of the slowdown. I'm using it now, and it's fantastic.

There's also a patch that inserts the War of the Lions translation and content into the PS1 version, which is pretty cool.

Thanks so much for starting a discussion here! I'm a slacker and totally forgot-- but I am sure the creators would be delighted to know you decided to pick up the album!

I'm a huge fan of it. The Skyrim tunes really capture what I like about the tone of that soundtrack without quite the same tedium I find in the original material.

I love love love the Trisection arrangement, and I think alongside Secunda and Eternity, it's among my favorites on the album. Truthfully though, I really do like every piece.

Barron's original song, The Forest of Awakening, is also really excellent, and showcases that he's not only a skilled arranger.

The performances in each track are equally excellent. I know this seems to be a whole lot of positive without much critique, but I have been listening to this all day at work and really enjoy it.

Also, they covered Heroes of Mana and Eruyt from FFXII, so wins all around. In fact, the track selection in general is excellent!

this is genius on their part. cater to the mobile-heavy Japanese market AND the console-heavy one. two versions so no one can complain that there aren't 'big budget DQ console games.'

literally everyone wins. SQEX is killing it lately, that hilariously bad press conference aside.

... I could have sworn I posted that. I know I wrote a post. I made a hilarious joke about bad translations.

But it's not here. Or anywhere.

Where the hell did I post?

O_O

It's okay, Stephen, it happens to the best of us.

That eharmony profile is going to be very confusing, though.

On the upside, his profile now matches his Facebook Status.

"l-i-t-t-l-e-m-o-n-e-y"

+1 would LOL again

"Rob likes 1990s, early 200s JRPGs"
"I like games with short, snappy battle systems and interesting characters."
AHEM, SHADOW HEARTS 1 AND 2, ROB.

the problem is that when he finally plays it and hates it, we're all going to tear him from his throne of bone and end him forever for such a gross transgression.

Ladd/Rad is the man. You should always use him. And I often use Alicia, too!

And tons of people because I'm a nerd.

You guys, this hard theory/formula talk needs to continue. I feed on it. FF Tactics may be one of the few games where I actively enjoy getting into the nittiest, grittiest nuts and bolts of the systems. Unf.

It's not impossible to work around Rapha's randomness. Yes, you can't approach a fight the same way as a character with a more guaranteed hit zone, but that doesn't mean she's idiotic. Non-traditional, but plenty of fun. I've made great use of her in WotL.

This one's a big old sad face. A sublime talent and personality lost.
