I've heard a bunch of these before, and they are freaking fantastic. REVO has a lot of really great original albums where he basically tells a story alongside a sort of 'rock opera,' and they're great listens. You can definitely hear his style in these, and it bodes very well for the game's soundtrack as a whole.

Pardon the Double Bamp Posting but http://www.siliconera.com/2012/09/13/bravely-default-has-pirate-ninja-chemist-and-a-new-job-made-for-counterattacking/

This continues to be the only interesting looking thing coming out of Squeenix right now. I'm REALLY hoping this ends up being FFV-2 but without all the bullshit that usually accompanies the various FFX-2 games (where X stands for whatever numbered entry they've decided to cram an awful and unnecessary sequel to).

Looks like FFV with a more interesting plot and fantastic art design. Also REVO. I can't wait.

I just got a legitimate sadface in my heart from that explanation.

And if I score a Vita, we'll have to hit up some coop.

I enjoyed it a lot at E3. It was a bit goofy in some areas, but definitely felt like something that could have a lot going for it as a handheld action RPG.

And because I cannot for the life of me remember, doesn't it have four-player local coop?

Great video, Pat! Just finished watching it. Music needs to get video coverage like this more often, it's very engaging.

I was gonna be Axton, but I like playing medic, and Maya got all of those moves from Roland. So I'll probably be Maya. I like that each class isn't specifically pigeonholed into specific weapon types now, too.

I'm PC all the way on this one. My buddy found a copy of the 360 and PC version together on cheapassgamer for like $60 total, so I might grab a console version to play with some 'fanners too.

I have a PhysX-compatible card, so I'm looking forward to all those completely awesome effects they were showing off in the video a few weeks back.

I played (and am currently) playing the fuck out of this with some good friends. I cannot wait for BL2. After looking at the skill trees, it's clear they've completely fixed the problem of diversifying the skills from BL1. EVERY CLASS looks awesome. I am... so very...excited.

If anyone's playing the PC version with stereo speakers (not 5.1 or 7.1) you'll want to read this for a fix. Stereo is broken, by default you miss out on most of the ambient sound effects, before finding about this workaround I'd been playing the game in near silence thinking that was how it was supposed to be.

Thaaaaank you. :D

Globulous is fucking fantastic.

Yeah, I was playing when it came out, and I don't feel like the game is EASIER, there's just less cheese to deal with. It's certainly less frustrating at times, but I don't know if I'd call that difficulty so much as just time-consumptiveness.

Onward!

What? When was it easier? You mean the patches?

Guys. GUYS.

I have the perfect tagline for this. Check this shit out:

"Lightning DOES strike twice."

You're welcome, Square Enix.

put simply i like characters that go against typical gender roles. or at least the ones i grew up with. if she fought with a staff and -aga nukes i would have much less interest in her. along those lines i might of liked hope if he wasnt such a douchebag for most of the game.
She does not go against 'typical gender roles.' If anything she codifies them. She starts off as a insufferable bitch because she "had to do it to protect Serah" or some shit, but it was actually a worthless front to hide the weakness inside her. When she finds out that being an insufferable bitch is actually not productive in doing anything but being an insufferable bitch, she stops and basically becomes an ineffectual background character whose only purpose was to say what the party's goal was then spout out a nonsensical monologue at the very end of the game involving 'achieving the impossible.' She was not important or effective in any way, and her 'going against gender roles' only served to hurt and distance people she cared about.

Thank you for phrasing this more eloquently than I have thus far.
