http://www.dogearrecords.com/ube/sample.html

13 minutes of samples. Nobuo Uematsu, Tsutomu Narita, Yoshitaka Hirota, Michio Okamiya.

I really like what I've been hearing here. There's a nice bit of variety to it, and I'm naturally disposed to luvluv anything involving Hirota.

Thanks for the feedback!

So, you've mentioned a couple of things here. I think since we already have "the Soundroom," it's safe to say a subforum isn't super necessary-- although if others disagree I'm sure this is something that could be talked about.

On the forums? On their own Blog? Iím not really sure if this alludes to the forums as means of an outlet for this musical appreciation of users/listeners or just open that you want them talking about it anywhere really.

Yes to all. In my opinion, talking about it ANYWHERE is an awesome thing. However, since that wasn't the exact question you were asking-- I'd say if you have thoughts on an album we review (or hell, one we HAVEN'T reviewed yet), make a post with the title of the album and say what you think! These are discussions I love to be a part of, and would absolutely welcome everyone else's thoughts too. Reviews are objective-- I've loved music that some of my fellow editors have hated, and vice versa.

Short answer: talk about it anywhere (please!), but if you want to talk about on the forums, that would be fantastic, and I'd love to weigh in, too.

Thanks again for the feedback!

But it's out of date! Because I've beaten 999 since then! Well... beaten it once :)

Not ringing any bells.

Pretty much.  I'll even take a Michael Bay Star Wars movie over anything Lucas would have put out.

I... I don't think I would go that far.
1447  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Disney Buys Lucasfilm on: October 30, 2012, 08:34:36 PM
I think this is nothing but good news. Disney did well with Pixar and Marvel; I've enjoyed almost all the films by those studios. George Lucas losing most of the creative control over Star Wars is going to be the best thing that has happened to this franchise in years.

Really? Who?

I heard the samples to this a week or two ago. They are puuuuurty.

You would be insane not to buy this game at $20 (unless you hate it). And if you hate it, WHAT THE HELL.

Lifetime ban for what you just put me through.

XSeed is just as much to blame as VW

No, they're really not.  They actually had the game translated.  It was done.  Vanillaware completely dropped the ball on this one.

Yeah, Xseed made it very clear what happened, and in almost all cases it depends on the developer to get the localization put in, not the publisher, so don't go blaming them for this. Even if you try to argue that they should've known Vanillaware couldn't handle it that's ALSO VW's responsibility as they should've evaluated if they had the man power or not before finalizing the deal.

There is no way this is XSeed's fault. XSeed is fucking awesome and brings people games that they would NEVER get otherwise, but they can't do it all on their own.

Also, I'd really like to play Grand Knights History. Give these fancy grajamate school Japanese skills a whirl in real time. Maybe I should pick it up.

They have so much potential for music in this game. They should call Vangelis. And Daft Punk. And the folks from Witcher 1 and 2.
1454  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 on: October 20, 2012, 01:30:52 PM
I don't really think they have much leeway there-- the pen and paper game is CALLED Cyberpunk 2020, after all.
1455  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 on: October 20, 2012, 12:49:13 PM
I'm not ashamed to admit I listened to the two Pondsmith videos like five times. His voice convinces me to love again.

Also, you know why I'm supportin this game, even with no video released? Because you can fucking tell those two guys there are passionate about it. They want to make a good game because they love to make games, and because, as they said SEVERAL times-- they can't wait to play it either! CD Projekt RED all up in here.
