I must second the Dark Cloud 2 remake, really enjoyed the music in that game. Also the camera invention system was cool and so was the golf mini-game.

The Shining Force games on PS2 area almost universally awful. I hated every single one of them for different reasons.

Hmm, that's a tough one. I'm surprised it's not on iTunes. Square Enix is usually pretty good about releasing their stuff via that avenue. One thing I will say is that the blu-ray version DOES give you the option of saving an MP3 and a lossless version to a USB drive and getting it on your PC that way.

Other than that, unfortunately, I don't see any other means to score it. Square hasn't being using CDs lately because (presumably) it's cheaper to press one blu-ray than four to six CDs and the packaging that goes with it. Doesn't help folks with CD players (read: everyone else), but for now it seems to be their thing.

If I hear anything useful I'll be sure to let you know.

While I love the classic Shining games, I think it might be time for us to realize that those aren't the definition of "Shining" anymore-- there are more of these modern, varied subgenre titles than classic Shining games now.

Although Shining Ark was pretty rad.

Mine was Persona 3... although I guess it didn't get away, since I finally finished it yesterday. Yay!

Now I guess mine would be Suikoden II. I should get on that.

Also Xenoblade, although I want to get on that, too.

Derek accidentally made me discover this game "Energy Breaker." Unsurprisingly, my musical predecessor had a full review with lots of info on the game, and I found this gem of a song:

Yukio Nakajima and Yasunori Shiono!

Very interesting. Lays bare the concerns for the future, but also the recent successes well.

People will be pissed that XV has an action RPG battle system like KH, but there's no changing that.

If it's a fun game, I'm all for that. I want some narrative nuance, though. That's my main concern.

Final month city theme from Persona 3

oh my god atmosphere

I've FINALLY, after owning literally every version of the game, sat down to truly beat P3. Just got to

the final block of Tartarus. oh my god the music

it seriously blows me mind and defies all statistical probability that this series can be so consistently fantastic.
