16  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Top 10 RPGs Poll on: May 25, 2015, 10:56:13 AM
I found getting 100 votes during the play in FFIX way harder when I played it recently. Never had a problem as a kid.

EDIT: Also, I suppose this begs the question of "what would your top 10 look like if you replayed em all at present". And further, "should a top 10 list be based on the game itself, or the players experience?".  Veed-eee-o G-aaaaaay-mur f-eee-los-if-izen, watch out.

I replayed FFIV recently and was kind of let down. It used to be in my top ten but now I wonder if I will ever replay it fully again. It was still fun but just not great. Opposite happened to FFV where I had forgotten how fun the job system was.

I always thought of Yukari as the main love interest until Aigis comes along. The game kind of drops Yukari as if she was nothing from that point onwards.

1. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f
2. Freedom Wars
3. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
4.The Order 1886
5.Atelier Ayesha Plus
6. The Forest of Doom
7. Injustice: Gods Among Us
8. Infamous: First Light

9. Atelier Rorona Plus
I got my Pie ending which is the most important thing for me. I remember being one pie short from it when I played it on a friends PS3 years ago. Even though I wouldn't have gotten it anyway on the PS3 version due to the priority order with the endings it has always felt like unfinished business all these years.

10. Race the Sun
Really liked this. I wasn't expecting much but it really surprised me. These type of games are usually not my cup of tea but it was addictive as hell.

11. Ether One
The patch seemed to fix the worst bugs although loading from Pinwheel harbour to Pinwheel Village took so long I thought the game had crashed. Puzzles were fun for the most part and all areas other than the industrial area were easy to navigate.

1. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f
2. Freedom Wars
3. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
4.The Order 1886
5.Atelier Ayesha Plus

6. The Forest of Doom
I really like Fighting Fantasy books but being a dirty little cheater, a lot of the fun is spoiled on me. I got the game in a bundle and it was a lot of fun. Ended up drawing my own map which was all over the place but it got the job done.

7. Injustice: Gods Among Us
I am pretty horrible at fighters but I had a lot of fun with this. Pressing random buttons and hoping for the best got me through to the end. Story was alright although it fell apart near the end.

8. Infamous: First Light
It was short but I had a lot of fun with it. Some of Fetch's choices make you think what was she thinking but it wasn't anything you couldn't overlook.
22  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / Re: DQM:Joker 2 question on: April 10, 2015, 03:59:09 PM
I am pretty sure that it is the original version. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

1. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f
2. Freedom Wars
3. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
4.The Order 1886
5.Atelier Ayesha Plus

1. Hatsune Miku: Procect Diva f
I was not that familiar with Vocaloid before playing this but it ended up being really fun. I sucked at the beginning but eventually got each songs rhythm down. I will probably get Diva f 2nd if I see it on sale.

2. Freedom Wars
The game had an awesome setting but it never really fully utilised it. It reminds me of Resonance of Fate in that regard. The game is one of the better hunting games for the vita although I thought that for a hunting game, there was way too much running back and forth to npcs between story missions.

3. Monster Hunter 4U
Having played earlier games in the series, I knew in advance what to expect. The game didn't disappoint. playing with others online is awesome. None of my real life friends play the game so online was a first for me.

4. The Order: 1886
Loved the game. Can't wait to see where it goes next. I thought it was short but luckily I borrowed it from a friend rather than paying full price.

5. Atelier Ayesha Plus
Not really a fan of being unable to craft weapons and armour. Whetstones don't feel the same. I miss Hagel :( I am going to be in the minority here but I prefer the Rorona/Annie system of having assignments to complete rather than wandering aimlessly. Admittedly it wouldn't have worked with the story. Overall I did really enjoy it. I am a sucker for Atelier games and am looking forward to playing Escha and Logy.

Finished the story of Shadow of Mordor. Man those last two bosses were an absolute joke. Easiest things of all time. What a disappointment to an otherwise solid game. Probably going to do some extra stuff in it now and potentially platinum it like Klyde did if I am feeling up to it.

Yeah, I thought they were pretty disappointing too. I did love the last boss of the first zone though with his slow mo walk.
25  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Megami Tensei Topic on: February 05, 2015, 04:40:11 PM
So... who thinks the dungeons are partially randomised again or will they be more like SMT IV? I am hoping the latter myself. The chandelier part gives me hope but the long empty hallway during the sneak dash makes me think no.

what makes you think we will be fighting demons and not shadows?

anyways it looks amazing

You see the party fighting some Sandmen and a Pyro Jack. It could be they are enemy persona rather than demons though.

Playing a few games on and off. Mostly SRPGs like Disgaea D2. Don't want to get too invested into anything as I am waiting for Monster Hunter 4 to come out next week.

New trailer of Persona 5:

I want every game ever to have menus like that.

And dancing all night too (nothing to see though):

Nice! My main thoughts after watching it
Code:
Fuck yeah! Igor is back!

I was worried since his voice actor died.

It is also great to be fighting demons again. I thought shadows were pretty bland

Ghost Trick is a great DS game if you have not tried it. Danganronpa is also pretty good although I don't know if you own a Vita.

Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars is also really fun. I played it for the GBA although it is available elsewhere too.

Dincrest liked Another Code for Ds which sounds like what you want although I have no real experience with the game..

A suggestion that is a bit out of the box. I really liked it but it is definitely not for everyone.Lost in Blue 2 is like Survival Kids. You are trapped on a deserted Island and need to survive. Puzzles are kind of hit or miss and it can get repetitive but it was fun.

Just a heads up, Blade Dancer is part 1 of a series that never got another game. Don't know if that kind of thing bothers you but I thought you should know. I thought the game was alright. Nothing great but good enough that I finished it.

Z.H.P was loads of fun. One of my favourite NIS games. The gameplay didn't seem too hard outside of some boss fights but it has been years since I played it so I could be mistaken.
