Took a Reasoning Test for a job I was interested in. It was basically math, basic physics and pattern puzzles. There were about twenty of us there taking it but I am sure there were a lot more taking it throughout the week. I think it went pretty good. Well enough that I got called for an interview anyway. I think I got all but one question correct which is good since my previous work experience is pretty shite compared to a lot of the other people applying but hopefully the interview goes well.

I went into the Reasoning Test with a grey shirt and jeans which was actually overkill with how everyone else was dressed. Still, I think I will wear a suit to the interview. That said, I fucking love suits. They basically suit hur hur hur everyone. I can't think of anyone who looks bad in a normal suit. I am also thinking on whether to go clean shaven or with a neatly trimmed beard. Normally I would say that it is common sense to go to an interview clean shaven but I am like fifteen to twenty years younger than everyone else applying for the job. Wondering if I should play it safe and go clean shaven or risk looking like a hipster/homeless man in an attempt to look more mature.

The Wolf Among Us - Bigby's apartment music

I love this one so much. It might just be my favourite piece from any Telltale game.

Warning. It is a youtube link so avoiding the comments is for the best if you have not finished the game.

The moon was pretty kickass last night. 'Twas bright enough to see around you perfectly.

Bought the first Mistborn book on a whim after seeing it being mentioned here repeatedly. Really enjoying it so far.

Been playing FFX on and off.

I have beaten the PS2 version so I just play it in bursts whenever I get in the mood for FFX gameplay. Just fought John Travolta for the first time. Actually, I had forgotten that I had actually liked a lot of Seymour's scenes in the game. The only thing that I really remembered from my PS2 playthrough was finding it really annoying when he kept popping up every five minutes. Totally overshadowed how much I liked his total indifference at Djose Temple.

Not really sure what to play next. Klyde and Klutz' posts about Borderlands 2 make me think I should give it a go. I really liked the first one and I have the second from PS Plus anyway.

@the Spoiler, considering it's supposed to be post(Mid?)-apocalyptic, I wouldn't expect anything else. If anything, I'd call that a strength, so long as it's done well enough.

It is less anyone can die(which I am fine with) but rather if you actually have the option to save or let the person die, they are living on borrowed time from that moment on. Characters that were given the option to be killed are 100% sure to die for good before the season is out. It kind of makes you think your choices are irrelevant in the greater scheme of the game. They are of course and that is to be expected with this type of game but it should be hidden from the player.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
I really liked it. The controls did sometimes feel clunky *shakes fist at the canoe section* but overall, I had no real issues with  them. Each area differred pretty heavily from the last which was pretty cool. I actually found myself stopping at certain times wondering what had happened to the area before I had gotten there. Thought not knowing what the characters were saying was actually a strength. You could basically understand them from their gestures/tone of voice. I would recommend it to people looking for a pretty short game to play. Definitely play it if you got it on PSN Plus. You have no reason not to, it is only three or four hours long after all.

Finished The Walking Dead Amid the Ruins. It was good although overall, I probably preferred season 1.

One thing I didn't like in the episode and it applies to both seasons is that
none of your choices really matter in the grand scheme of things. You can save a character from being killed but all you are doing is delaying the inevitable. If a character had the option of being killed don't expect them to live to the next season.

I am also playing Ragnarok Odyssey Ace. It is fun enough but I think Monster Hunter has spoiled me.

Really looking forward to this. Loved the gameplay in the first one. I need mah FFV Job system fix!

If there was ever a game made with next to no replay value, it was Bravely Default...

Really? I thought it had a lot of replay value. I could replay the same bits again and again and again and again.

I kid. It is true. The story loses the mystery that drew you in during the first playthrough and you already know how to take advantage of every single boss and their pattern.

Finished The Last of Us. Great game. I only thought it was an above average game at first but after the hotel area, things really picked up. I can kind of see what Ygg meant when he spoke about the violence (both story and gameplay) I didn't mind the story violence myself but the gameplay finishers were a tad excessive after a while. I loved how it was not just clear an area and then explore it. There were large chunks before you ran into your next enemy. The gameplay (including stealthily dealing with enemies) actually reminded me of puzzle games more than anything else. I also liked how the infected were not really in it as much as I thought they would. Human encounters seemed a lot more common. It made them still seem a threat whenever they showed up.

I also finished Episode 1, 2 and 3 of The Walking Dead: Season 2. Loved it. I didn't mind Clem's walking speed at all. Walking is nowhere as common as it was in Season 1. really looking forward to episode 4 in a few days. Not looking forward to the wait for episode 5 at all :(

The tiniest of tiny The Last of Us spoilers

Breaking Bad/ Game of Thrones(book) spoilers

41  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: World Cup 2014 (starts June 12, kiddies!) on: July 05, 2014, 03:06:50 PM
I still think it'll be a Netherlands-Germany final with a Brazil-Argentina third place match.

I think it will be the same. I was hoping it would be Columbia vs Germany and Costa Rica vs Belgium but that didn't exactly work out. Costa Rica may get lucky and the Netherlands will underestimate them although it is pretty unlikely at this stage of the competition. I would say that Costa Rica would have had a better chance facing Brazil or Argentina as neither team has played great this World Cup.

Just finished the first of three stories in The Chronicles of the Black Company. I enjoyed it. I tried reading the second story right after but the time skip makes things feel weird after just finishing the first. I think I will wait a few weeks and then read the second part.

American Gods is good. Weird but good. Currently around the half way mark.

Finished Far Cry 3.
Wasn't a big fan of the story near the end but the game was really fun overall. I will probably play the Co-op missions soon.

Dragon's Crown.
Beat the game on normal mode. I actually found Red Dragon harder than Ancient Dragon. Think I might take a break before trying some other classes/higher difficulty modes.

Atelier Rorona Plus

The game is really fun. I like the addition of the mini assignments, they give you something to aim towards. Currently up to Assignment 2. Yay for not having to revisit each area every few days in case there is a new scene!

Wow, the US may have lost but holy crap did Tim Howard have a great game or what! The game certainly would not have gone into extra time without him. Even though he was great, the best team did win in the end. Belgium face Argentina next. I don't have much hope for them but it would be great to see them win.

I am looking forward to the Germany France match on Friday. France either have horrible World Cups or play really well. With the way they played so far, it should be a match to remember.

Far Cry 3

Cleared the northern Island. I absolutely loved Vaas but I am not too fond of the actual story. I avoided a lot of the hype surrounding Vaas so that probably helped. The game gives me a Pocahontas/Avatar vibe even though it isn't really like them. Crafted all possible upgrades so no real incentive to go hunting anymore.

Dragon's Crown

One Talisman remaining. Think I will need to grind a bit first though. Made an attempt on the Red Dragon and he wiped out my AI party pretty easily. I managed to avoid the worst of it myself but there was no way I would have been able to take out 3/4 of his health on my own.
