707  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What don't you get sick of?? Favorite things!!? on: December 05, 2010, 04:11:34 PM
Things I will never get sick of.

Rain (I love the feel of rain. Ireland is not exactly known for a dry climate so I am happy)
Crash Team racing multiplayer (PS1)
Lamb and baked potatoes
Hillwalking
The Redemption of Althalus by David Eddings (Only the middle section. I have read the beginning and end only twice while the middle is eight or nine times read)
Father Ted
The Crisps(potato chips?) called Skips (I do not even like them that much but they are addictive)
Walking at night while drunk (I mean down country roads not down a street. There is something to be said about looking at the night sky when you are not in your right state of mind)

Anyone else feel that UNDERLYING the FFTactics success-hit % was another one that was like the percent it would hit the displayed percent?

I can't even begin to tell you how many of my 95% hits had missed.

Or the flip side of that where the enemy's 20-30% success rate crippling status effects would hit every single stinking time? Charm in particular was the worst. ~.~;

I remember silently chanting "miss miss miss"
It was great when they did miss though.

Luca blight would probably be my choice.

BoFIV Fou lu actually convinced me that he was in the right.

Which ended up with me killing all my allies.

I also loved Rune Factory 3. It had some great improvements although it was probably the shortest Rune Factory I played. It may have something to do with the fact that I spent quite a while in the bonus dungeon by the record room.

I like the fact the artwork went back to the Rune Factory 1 and Frontier style. I am already eagerly awaiting Oceans.
Code:
Since the main character is half sheep half human does that mean one of his parents...messed around with a sheep?

It has been a while since my last playthrough but I remember certain funny parts. Looking back on it I enjoyed it a lot more than I remember. Odd since it is usually the other way around. Getting FFIV with the anthology set at the same time probably had something to do with it.

Code:
I miss Galuf :(

Nuke her from orbit. Its the only way to be sure.

It would more than likely miss her and kill her husband instead... or a city she had visited the week before.
713  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Super RPGFan Game Journal IV - The New Warriors: The Revenge The Movie The Game on: November 20, 2010, 09:02:36 AM
I just finished Rune Factory 3. It was a great game although I found it quite short. It has some great improvements over the last two handheld games but I cannot help thinking that the only time you have to farm is the last dungeon.
714  Media / Brush and Quill / Re: Book Thread Continued on: October 30, 2010, 02:18:55 PM
Just finished reading Unseen Academicals by Terry Pratchett and The One Kingdom by Sean Russell.

Unseen Academicals disappointed me. It was a good book but lacked that certain something that a lot of the other books had.

I was not expecting much after reading the back of The One Kingdom but once I started I could not put it down.

Just finished watching Now and Then, Here and There. The first episode was pretty meh but starting from the second this show was amazing. It was way darker than I predicted from episode one.

Porn.

I love how you just slotted that in.

I think it deserves a thread of its own.
If you guys are going to keep making a new thread everytime something note worthy comes out then there is no reason to have a Megami Tensei thread. In fact I think the moderators should sticky the Megami Tensei thread to cut down on potential thread redundancy. But that's just my opinion.

I always saw the Megami Tensai thread as a place to ask random questions such as is Kanji actually gay or as a help thread outside of the helper monkey part of the forum.

Like
Suikoden Series (Individually I love the games but the small things that connect them make me enjoy them all the more)
Digital Devil Saga
Final Fantasy 6 (may be slightly overrated but it is my favourite Final Fantasy by far)
Ar Tonelico
Mana Khemia
Atelier Iris
Guardian Crusade (It may just be me being nostalgic but I love this game. I also love the opening music to it)
Dragon Warrior/Quest VII (The graphics may have been basic but I loved this game)

Dislike
Astonishia Story (This is one of the few games I just outright disliked. The sequel was a huge improvement)
Nostalgia (I will probably give this game another chance in the future but there was something about it that just turned me off)

Disappointing
Mimana Iyar Chronicles
Kingdom hearts 358/2 days (Made me swear to myself never to eat another icecream)
Suikoden Tierkreis (As an rpg I really liked this game but as a Suikoden it did not feel right)
Cladun This is an RPG

Can anyone name an Idea Factory game that was actually good?

I thought Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos was quite good.

I will agree that Idea Factory come up with some interesting ideas but kind of mess them up.
720  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: gamestop just got alot of semi hard to find ps2 games on: October 28, 2010, 03:48:53 PM
Lucky. The only ps2 games I ever see for sale tend to be Fifa and racing games.
