Between reading things like this and stories from thetrenches, it really makes me wonder why I want to support half of the game companies in the first place.

One of the reasons I'm going indie(need pay while I make it).  the odd part was my soon to be old workplace is not technically a game company(they don't make games).  The place is actually awesome, thus why I was tying to leave him and not the company.  But he fucked it for me, oh well.

Today was a wonderful fucking day, I'm so so so happy.  Ever since I started this new job, I realized I was this asshole's plaything, he pretty much was the douchiest boss I ever had.  He made my life miserable, I was literally shaking when testers found a bug in my code(even something trivial).  He made it worst two weeks ago by telling HR to put me on probation for following his orders, I had one month to "improve"(it didn't say how), during this period I could not transfer(I was in the middle of transferring), take a vacation(I had to miss my mom's birthday), or use my medical benefits(no doctor's appointment for me), if I don't improve, I'm fired with no unemployment.
Well I just one upped the cumbubble!  I got a job interview and in the end they gave me an offer equal to what I was getting there, and more!  So in a few weeks I'll be working in a small studio(whom I know half the team) owned by a gigantic game developer.
but the best part will be, giving that fucker my bye bye note!  Shame Mr. Professionalism is stopping me from doing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuBRk6tjiUQ.  Of course it would be more "you're cool"s than "fuck you"s.

- I have trouble getting past the first date with a women.  :(
- I've sworn off dating Lebanese women (lebanese bitches be CRAZY!!!).
- As much as I defend my race, I have VERY few friends in it, since I find my people annoying.
- I once went to a Duran Duran concert.
- I think its safe to say it now, but I once met Micheal Jackson and his kids.
- I know two people women in the game industry who used to be men(they haven't been outed).
- I've only beaten Diablo 3 once and lost interest in playing it again.
- I used to buy games super cheap from my old workplace, and return them to Gamestop for credit.

Is it me or are the vast majority of the AF's post Zilart look ridiculous on male models?

Blue Mage - Looks cool on both
Puppetmaster - Looks stupid on both.
Corsair - Females look cool, men look like.. a certain type of pirate.
Dancer - too easy
Scholar - Both look ok, but seriously it so doesn't look like something a scholar would be adventuring in,  I mean they're educated, they should know better.
Geomancer - Male looks like they're going to trip on their clothes.  Female, much better but what's up with the shorts(I'm all for making the gear look different for both genders, but shorts?)?  The hat is badass though, need to be on a Monk.
Fencer - Hooker boots on a guy...looks like it belong in tales game.  Females look cooler in it though.

Pre Zilart AF looked good or bad for both genders.

Aren't Mieville's sales enough to call him "mainstream" at this point? I mean once you've won some Hugo awards you probably qualify right? I don't know I'm just asking.

The penny arcade guy only read half of city and the city and didn't understand it and accused him of being smug.   Mieville's books are geninuely different people call them Weird Fiction.  This is why I love his books, while alot of writers are formulaic, he paints a different world, he's like the Frank Zappa of scifi/fantasy :P.  I also love how even those the Bas Lag books made him known, he no longer writes books in that world, he's not obliged to.

Lots of people commented on the Penny Arcade folks view of Mieville's work, realizing they mainly read "mainstream" sci fi novels and such, I'm guessing that his books are just not meant for them.

He is on the list of people to read on my quest to dig fantasy books.
I don't know if I could call him fantasy, people call his books weird fiction, which I think is more suited for him.  If you want fantasy books that don't ride on Tolkien tropes I recommend GRRM A Song of Ice and Fire and Steven Erickson's Malazan Book of the Fallen.

I've only read Perdido Street Station by him, but I do recommend. It's not as deep as it can appear, but the imagination is fantastic.
Perdido Street station is good, but his post Bas Lag books, Unlundun, The City and The City, Kraken, Embassytown, and so far Railsea, are REALLY good.  And Embassytown(which is hardcore sci fi) is incredibly deep.

1. The characters are all good-looking guys and beautiful girls.
I think the obvious thing to say here is, "are they supposed to be ugly then?".  But hey.  Apparently all doctors on television are 10's.

I think they mean pretty boys and cute girls.  You can make a good looking hero who is "manly" and a beautiful girl who is a woman.  I guess they want that. (think characters from Berserk)

Just started reading China Mieville's latest book, "Railsea". Such an odd book, about a sea of train tracks, and people sail this "ocean" on trains hunting giant moles.  Classic Mieville :P

Preordered it for the art book(ASOIAF fanboy), I'll get to it eventually.  I hear the story is good, which is good enough for me for this game.
