Because for some weird ass reason, you had to equip spells for stats and the number of stats you get is directly linked to the amount of draw you have. Meaning every single time you meet a new enemy or a boss, it's ~30 turns of draw on all 3 characters... whoopee fucking do.

Also, for the exact same reason, you end up stocking spells and don't dare ever use them because you'll get weaker if you do and will have to go hunt again for an enemy that has it or one of the very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very rare drawpoint.

No, using your Guardian Force to make spells is not a valid way because it is majorly useless for most of the game as you'll never want to level that up because every single other skill is more interesting and useful while usually being less costy.

The ONLY way this could have made sense is if there were shops that sold most of the spells in towns.

EDIT: Malboros are the cheapest thing ever.

I shit you not, I find that game awful. I'd rather play FFT:Advanced on the GBA over it.

- The flow of the story is horrible since you get very little between each fight and then a giant bitchslap of it at the end of a chapter.
- Overly long game. Some battles or story bits could have been filler episode if this was a TV show.
- The difficulty of the game is completely unbalanced. I was having a really hard time winning a random encounter at the beginning. Later, a friend told me about the 100 valor, 0 fate, monk counter + camouflage combo... and I was never hit for the rest of the whole game fighting solo.
- Turns are soooooo slow (okay, a lot of tactic games have that problem, but still worth noting)
- The most retarded cast of secret characters I have ever seen.
- No way to foresee how to get said special characters without a guide.

Tales of Eternia was renamed because "Eternia" is trademarked by Mattel (for the He-Man toys) in North America. Nothing to do with them being retards; just avoiding a lawsuit.

Some parts of the story were interesting, but yeah, it took me 5 years to finish the game because I would always lose interest.

The problem is? They even market the game saying all those things. It's not like they are trying to fool you.
I'd be more mad at some guys who right out lie to you in their PV.

Hell, I'll forever remember the press release they did in Japan when they announced the game. The best part was when the guy explains the battle mechanics and then out of nowhere the girl goes semi naked and he yells to the entire audience "THEY TOOK OFF THEIR CLOTHES TO SAVE THE WORLD!" *cue people bursting in laughter*
