yuri is not awesome. i mean seriously before i quit out of boredom he annointed carol leader of the team...
I've been wondering this for a while, but that cemented it. I'm pretty sure you just hate everything.

It's a man teaching a boy how to become a man... clearly what Alisha likes.

Also, Fuuka has grown...

She is now waifu material.

I wasn't sure if I was going to buy the game... but waifu Fuuka sure is tempting.

Reports of Versus's death are greatly exaggerated.

Well, that's what they should have said...

In addition to denying the rumor, Wada said that he'd just taken part in a periodic meeting for the game. He remarked that the quality of the cityscape demonstrated during the presentation could make you lose your footing.

HD towns... that is all.

I used to be an adventurer like you... but then I developed a hoarding problem.

1685  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: possible ogre battle remake? on: July 23, 2012, 01:45:01 PM
I tried holding back but no more!

Ok, Ogre Battle is all about managing your units. You have to make competent fighting groups that will be strong enough to win against most enemy units. That means you will have to build your fighting units slightly differently and opt for the best unit for given encounters. Ex: a unit with 3 archers would do very well against a resistant front line that hides 2 mages and a healer in the back. Of course you will need some special units for 'unique' tasks that are plentiful throughout the missions (VS undead units, fast flying units, all shield units, VS petrification golems unit, etc.)

Aside front pure battle strength, you have to consider the alignment/class combos of the units in the sense that you will require at the very least 1 evil, 1 neutral and 1 lawful unit. Near the end of the game, you will have to split said groups to have 1 pure evil, 1 half evil, 1 full lawful and 1 half lawful since the towns are very picky with the 'liberator's' alignment.

When you become more apt at the game, you can then start cheating the system to produce 'weird' units. Healers in general are high alignment units and as such cannot exist/advance in evil groups, but it is possible to create units and then later mix them in with others to remedy this.

Now, where the real fun starts is that you actually have to keep your units the weakest possible if you aim for a high Chaos Frame. Meaning you must kill the least possible and generally work with very few exp (being 'stronger' than the enemy makes you the 'evil' side of the war). That few exp will also have to be split between your 10+ units. At this point, it's not uncommon to have town liberating units that never receive any experience.

Although you'd think keeping your Chaos Frame the highest possible would be a good idea, effectively it is not since certain heroes won't join you if you don't match their 'alignment'. As such, at certain points of the game, you may want to take a Chaos Frame dip for a certain hero only to bring it back up later for the best ending.

14 play hours later, I've beaten Chrono Trigger yet again.
I'm not sure if I want to take this fresh game and play it twice more to max everything.
I'll probably do it eventually but right now I think I'll install one of the 2 new games I bought recently.

Step 1: Download the mp4 stream off Youtube
Step 2: Extract the audio track
Step 3: WIN!

Does Katawa Shoujo count? It handles it very tastefully, which is why I tolerated it.

Katawa Shoujo is more of a VN than an eroge.

I'd add Sengoku Rance because playing the game is actually fun (and not just for you nether region) and Castle Fantasia (renewal) because it's a pretty good game overall.

EDIT: and Utawarerumono

Lodoss*
Slayers*
Tears to Tiara*
Utawarerumono*
Murder Princess
Berserk*
Claymore
Sacred Blacksmith
Scrapped Princess*
Rayearth*
Tales of (Anime)
Bastard!
Legend of Legendary Heroes*
El Hazard*
Tower of Druaga
Rune Soldier
Twelve Kingdoms*
Saiyuki

Out of that I'd say the good ones are:
- Utawarerumono (Good story, good action. serie + specials + 3 OVA)
- Claymore (manga only - although still ongoing)
- Legend of the Legendary heroes (Enjoyable but covers only a tiny spec of the story)
- Tower of Druaga (more of a silly show; it helps if you know about the Druaga games of the 1980s)
- Twelve Kingdoms (Watch the first ~25 something episodes. You'll know when you've reached the 'end'. The show after that is just an echo of how good it was at the beginning.)

But yes, the artwork was done by a guy who has also done an occasional hentai and is notorious for all of his characters having that plastic look to them.

Occasionaly? Hell, there's an erotic artbook for every Growlanser game.

-Inappropriate, over-sized blush
-H-face (basically O-face without quite going into O-face territory)
-Over-sized breasts
-Exposed thighs
-Glistening skin (it's a particular effect that I used to think was H-game character only as that's where it predominately crops up)
-Chainmail bikini syndrome
-Nipple eye-catch ornaments
-Crotch exposure (minorly so; but still present)
-Overt cleavage exposure
-Demure, un-assertive, if not outright submissive posing

Funniest thing is... you could be talking about a hundred games just with that.

Since we're talking about FFXII lately:

I'd like a job where I can actually do some good. Frankly, as long as I make the average wage I'd be ok... I'm not a big spender.
I feel that the only thing my work does right now is make the board of directors richer.

If politics weren't so corrupted... maybe I'd go try that.

Dream job: God

Do they still have those mail ordered wife?
I'd take one of those.
1694  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: How do you like your book chapters? (Thin, Thick, ect.) on: July 17, 2012, 12:32:19 AM
Um...medium?

James Patterson-esque chapters piss me off because they are all about a page and a half long and completely unnecessary. While I don't like super-long chapters either, if my eyes get tired usually I just try and get to the end of the chapter before putting it down. This is because the end of a chapter is usually the end/start of whatever is happening or is being talked about. It's a good mental break and gives you a place to start fresh when you come back. Otherwise it's like entering into a conversation that's halfway done.

You can simply leave the rest of the page blank every time there is a change of scene and start on the next page. Easy enough to stop reading there and still part of the continuity.
1695  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: How do you like your book chapters? (Thin, Thick, ect.) on: July 16, 2012, 10:00:31 PM
Long, hard and black.

Okay, now for a real answer. I don't think you need chapters at all. It's dysfunctional to the flow in a sense.
