So today I debated buying ToS:C even though I shouldn't and I also read the word uterus more than a studying gynecologist.

I'm about to crack and buy the damn thing =/

Beating Megaman bosses doesn't do much for me. Beating Ys bosses though...

I have a sinking feeling if it's released in Korea, it will be censored here as well as Europe.

I'm actually looking forward to this, but am worried about finding a straight English copy.

Apparently, the PC version is uncensored.
Depending if there's region censorship, there's always the possibility of someone gifting you a US key on Steam.

As for the Riddley terror, I've read a negative review that actually defended that sensibly: evidently there's an official comic that predates MOM detailing her family being killed by Riddley when she was a small child, or something like that. Evidently, it's canon that she IS always paralyzed by fear due to the traumatic memory.

Although you are somewhat right, I'd be careful with those "a friend of a friend I know told me that..."

This is the manga you refer to: http://mangafox.me/manga/metroid/v02/c008/5.html
(at the exact moment you speak of)

Problem is that Samus grows up and trains to become a warrior.
This is her second third (first would be him gutting her parents) encounter with Ridley: http://mangafox.me/manga/metroid/v02/c016/18.html

She also meets (defeats) Ridley many times after that, before the MOM timeline, and shows no signs of fear in any of them.

Ygg... you have issues.

Everybody does.

Though, I don't know what I said now that could have upset anyone.

Sorry Ygg, but your reaction to negativity is nothing of normal.
The key word in your quote would be when you tell him to "fucking let it go".
It would be understandable if we had discussed this at length recently (or at all) in this forum or anywhere, but no one here (or any major forum that I know of) has written anything about Parasite Eve for the longest time.
You are basically unloading on someone who is not the cause of your misplaced grief and showing evident animosity where there is no cause for it.
This isn't the first time you've done this.

Perhaps you should consult someone more knowledgeable about the human mind/psyche.

I haven't played MOM yet, but from everything I've seen and read it seems the complaints largely boil down to the fact Samus was given a personality.  People hate that she's too "girly" (which is just as sexist when it comes from feminists).
"In previous games she was a rock hard bad ass killing machine!"
yeah. . . she also had zero dialogue and could as easily have been a man or a fucking robot. If people don't like her character, fine--people tend to dislike characters like Shinji Ikari and Luke from Tales of the Abyss too--but contrasting her with an incarnation that had NO character is silly.

Sorry, I have to disagree. Samus had a very well demonstrated character. There are many ways to show a character's personality and dialogue is only one of them.
I've played up to Super Metroid only (no Primes =/) and it's still obvious Samus has more balls than I'll ever have.

Samus walking through an empty (that shouldn't be) space station littered with corpses. Pushing on because she needs to confirm what happened to the metroid she captured single-handedly (you know the scariest thing in the galaxy). She then encounters a space pirate mutant and proceeds to gun him down (note that there is zero animation/cutscene about her hesitating or being afraid). After he flees, she hunts him down.

Bah.  I really don't have the heart to switch to the Japanese voices, but they liven skits up nicely.
Are the skits not voiced in English?

Nope, JP only.

I liked The 3rd Birthday for what it was.  I haven't played the first two Parasite Eves, so maybe that's why I'm not offended.

With games getting older, it's common for people to only play the latest and then wonder why everyone says the one(s) before are better.
It's even worst when the latest isn't up to par with its predecessors.

That would be a cool topic for a feature.

I need to find a job so I can get ToS:C
The more everyone talks about it, the more I'm interested in the game.

Beating Melissan was indeed a pretty big achievement.
Immuned to everything but +5 (and up)
Around 200 spell resist
Hits like a truck and always cleaves
Summons pawns eternally
Gotta kill her a handful of time

... She makes Demogorgon look easy.

It doesn't help I never have a Paladin in my group to abuse Carsomir.
That sword is sooooooooooo good... but I don't like Keldran =(

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I don't actually think BG1 was a very good game.  It was a decent first attempt for a brand new studio, but it still had a ton of problems that needed to be worked out.

Like how level 1-5 is extremely boring on most classes in the D&D system.
Half of BG1 is you looking at your skill/spells and sighing.

I can't remember.

Is that the one where you have to dress up in womens clothes and kill Sephiroth?

Actually...

No, it was very much Atlus.  No Arc System Works game had ever had region locking like that before.  And this isn't some sort of mystery, Atlus explicitly stated why they did it: The Japanese and US releases were only a couple weeks apart and since they US release had the full Japanese voice track they were worried about Japanese consumers importing the US version since Japanese games are crazy ass expensive.  But it was 100% Atlus's decision, they said so themselves.  No reason to try and shift the blame here.

My bad. I stand corrected.
