2086  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: The NEW Game Journal on: February 16, 2014, 11:14:39 PM
Funny enough, sometimes when I don't play a certain game for a long time, I'm much better at it when I do get back to it.

Example:
I had a friend over and I wanted to show him how bullshit Catherine can be on hard. I hadn't played the game for 2 years. Then I proceed to perfect the last stage by completely stupid luck.

I've had other cases of stuff like that (tetris, Stepmania, touhou games, etc.)
Maybe I somehow reset beginner's luck after a while.

Let me add that this is one of the best KOS-MOS figure in existence for anyone that may be interested.

I've never spent more than 200$ (pre tax) on a console and I intend to keep it that way.
Although I had to wait a really long time for my PS3.
Then again, all the good stuff for it is coming out right now.

Ok, I just bursted laughing at "3rd person strangler".

Although the game isn't for everyone, they seriously nailed the South Park attitude.

Anyone who knows what the letters VN mean should just go and buy Analog: A Hate Story.

-80% for St-Valentine (1.99$)
It's a complete steal at that price.
Don't even think; just get it.

Didn't they say they'd announce 4 things?

Back when it came out I was fairly impressed with Spec Ops: The Line, but later I noticed that the game was praised for doing stuff that MGS1 and 2 did more than a decade ago and it got shit for doing so.

Confession time.
The only MGS game I've ever played is the bad one on the NES.

Whelp, not going to go out of my way to finish VLR now.

Code:
One of the problems I had with Gundam SEED is that it's written in an extremely naive fashion where supermen come along and basically forced people to get along at gunpoint.

Funny enough, that became the exact plot for the next serie (00).

I agree with all you said. I like GS, but it has pretty bad flaws.
When I rewatch it, I tend to watch the movie version because they do fix it a bit.

Before Kickstarting the game, the company would have to agree to that plan I guess (I'd wager he's not the sole holder of the IP).

This thread looks like the comment section in Siliconera. :p

Delightful tale old chap.
Anything more to add about the topic at hand or do you prefer to simply write unrelated asinine one-liners?
2099  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Anime/Manga Journal on: February 13, 2014, 03:07:39 PM
I think they tried to make the opposite of Kira Jesus Yamato by making a lead fueled by hatred who does not shy from war.
There was also a lot of experimentation with hero / anti-hero + siding with the devil but those traits just ended up clashing against the typical shounen lead traits.
Meaning the character had all the faults found in common shounen heroes, but also, due to the experimentation, wasn't working for what is perceived as 'good' to excuse the faults.
(i.e. the difference between Shinn and Naruto is that Naruto at least works for global 'good')

Another big "faux pas" is him being disrespectful to EVERYONE from the first serie. That is plain character suicide considering GSD exists because of GS.
A good example of what happens when you piss on your predecessor would be Jay Wilson.

Still, at least one good thing came out of Shinn:
Quote
On August 8, 2011, Shinn's voice actor, Kenichi Suzumura, got married to Maaya Sakamoto, none other than Lunamaria Hawke's voice actress.
dawwwwwwwww

EDIT: fuuuuuuuu... now I want to replay Tales of Eternia and listen to Meredy speak gibberish for half the game.

She really owns that gibberish.  I actually liked hers better than Wingull's Asian-whatever-inspired gibberish.  He was so serious sounding about it too...

I love Eternia.  If there was a game that simultaneously deserved and will never get "remake lovin' " it's ToE.

Voon dinentia. Ties tess tien, dio moo kwatinwanga. Lightning Nova!
