3226  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Games You'd Like To Give Another Chance And Why? on: December 24, 2011, 02:13:13 PM
And I don't know why you were repeatedly clicking on enemies since you only need to click when you want to do something different.  If you just want your guys to keep attacking the same enemy they'll do so on their own.

I think I know why. Turn off the AI. It's junk.
3227  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Persona 4 anime? on: December 23, 2011, 10:57:43 PM
Double post but whatever. I think I found out what's going on.
The second season won't be on TV, but it will be streamed.
So we probably have another 12 episodes to look forward to.
3228  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The Merged Final Fantasy XIII-2 Thread on: December 23, 2011, 10:12:25 PM
Wow, I never thought I'd see the day, but FFXIII-2 failed to outsell Tales of Xillia. (first week VS first week)
Who'd have thought Tales would actually outsell FF.
3229  The Rest / General Discussions / Name a Game that... Remake/Reboot on: December 23, 2011, 03:08:26 PM
1. Name a game that you want to be remade/rebooted.

2. Name a game that you're sure it will get remade/rebooted within the next 10 years.

3. Name a game that you think had potential but didn't use it and you'd want to remake it yourself.

4. Name a genre that you think needs to be rebooted completely.

---

1. System Shock 2
The game itself is already great. All it needs is modern hardware support and awesome 3D graphics. A reboot would also be fine if it's done a la DX:HR.

2. Final Fantasy 7
We all know it's coming sooner or later. It would probably be on a handheld.

3. The Last Remnant
This game had so much potential that it's sad to see how simplified the whole strategic aspect was. Putting actual tactics, troops management and giving the player more control over the recruited characters' path/weapons would have made this game incredible.

4. Space fighter simulators
What happened to those games? I loved Terminal Velocity, Privateer, Freespace, Freespace 2 and even those 2 microsoft ones were descent. Then, it seems the genre just died completely.

My bad, forgot about this thread due to excitement.

So I was playing Atelier Rorona and honestly though, "There's no way these girls are 17. And there's definitely no way their knockers can be that big at their age." What the hell is wrong with me?

You've been hanging around the wrong places.

<_<

3233  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Next "Trails" game announced for PSP on: December 22, 2011, 08:26:24 AM
I +1 the idea of Steam release. Steam as done wonderful things for a lot of niche games and I'm sure it could help JRPGs a lot.
Just look at Recettear. Steam sold that game like hotcakes.
3234  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: To Fable or Not to Fable on: December 22, 2011, 06:40:39 AM
STDs in a video game.
Because all I want after a hard day's work is to relax and play a game where my virtual avatar cries like a little girl every time he takes a leak.

I only played Fable 1 and it was OK. I liked how melee/archery/magic could all be really broken so you could pick the style you liked.
Of course, every Fable 1 character will end up being 80 years old and full of scar.

the real antagonist was the manager chick who still wasn't all that big of a deal given that her big plan was to make herself into the space ants' queen. Now whether the movies manage to outstupid this is the real question.

Well, the manager chick isn't even the villain anymore... heck the villain doesn't even have a name, nor body. It's just a bunch of wires that speak evilly.
So yeah.

3237  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Atlus Game Announcement Thread - Mark 2 on: December 20, 2011, 11:45:07 PM
Yeah, Christmas will probably be when they have the announcement.
When did this start again? Is Atlus actually doing the 12 days of trolling before Christmas?

Some wicked part of me wants Atlus to publish "God of WaR 4: Tactics" on PSP for the best trolling in video game history.
3238  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Anime/Manga Journal on: December 20, 2011, 11:31:22 PM
I finally watched Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa and I'm pretty mixed about it.
The movie itself is good and I would recommend it to anyone who watched Macross Frontier and didn't hate it, but I just can't understand why they modified the plot so much. The other movies before that one were only slightly different but this one is completely different. I wouldn't mind this so much if the new plot was as good as the one in the serie... but sadly it isn't.
The majority of the movie is fine, but it sinks when it reaches the ending. In the serie, the last 2 episode were an amazing mix of music, emotion and action. This new version, at the final battle instead treats us to music (always interrupted by speeches), very few emotion (if you watched the original, lets just say that nobody died at all, only 2 MIA that probably died, but nobody seems to give a damn about it) and a lot less action. They decided to cut most of what made the original ending incredible to instead make time for people 'understanding the Vajra and feeling their pain'.
Somehow, it feels like a cop out to rewrite it as the super happy ending.

Also, why would you have a Macross surf atmospheric re-entry... that felt like something tacked on just to look 20% cooler.

*fiddling with pixels way too much*
Still pretty much both...
