BTW, do I suck at this or is the game actually hard?
I don't have enough fingers to calculate how many times I died BEFORE even getting to chapter 1 on normal difficulty.

(also, that's not a complaint, I'm enjoying this a lot.)

EDIT: and what's the deal with the dragon? Any way to cross right at the start without losing 3/4 of your HP to the fire?

I thought it was whatever happens at sea stays at sea =/

In PSP game Akiba's Trip, players must expose vampires by...exposing them. Ripping their clothes off reveals if the characters are vampires.

And now the game makes so much more sense.

Damn I was hoping this debacle would force some PS3 sales so I can finally get a damn ps3

Actually, I'd say wait a month more. Maybe they'll announce some around E3.

~10 - Best gameplay Tri-Ace titles. :D   ....excluding Radiata Stories.  wtf happened.

That's funny because I loved Radiata Stories. I guess it's like the polar opposite of SO4. Great story and dynamic interactions but completely suck ass combats.
Being able to kick and brawl nearly every NPC was also a fun mechanic =3

Here you go, took me a while to compile it.

~1 - Very first video game
Centipede (in DOS)

~2 - Your favorite character

What the fuck does voracious even mean?

latin for velociraptor
Sometimes I wish we had a "like" button around here.

I'm sure in 15 years there's going to be a 'like' with tons of buttons

That's actually a pet peeve of mine. People who ruin their children by choosing the most god damn ridiculous name for them like Facebook or Pepsi or Spatula...

I'm sure the employees are competent. They just have to deal with a completely unrealistic schedule... and that leads to mistakes and cut corners.
3233  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: What's the haps? on: May 18, 2011, 01:24:43 PM
I keep them long enough to make sure people don't go "waaaaaaaaah you trashed my card!!!" and then recycle the stupid things.
Stupid use of trees.

The Japanese giant had been asking tens of millions of users worldwide to change their online gaming passwords after its systems were breached by hackers last month.

But it was forced to shut down the process overnight after it was shown that anyone could change a password using only a user’s email address and date of birth. Both pieces of personal data were stolen in April's security breach.

According to Nyleveia, a videogames blog that was first to report the new problem, Sony’s reset process was not properly verifying Authentication Tokens, the small files used to establish a secure connection between consoles and the PlayStation Network.

The blog said it contacted Sony, which shut down the password reset process around 15 minutes later.

A Sony spokesman confirmed the reason behind the outage and said engineers are working to patch the vulnerability.

I'm going to be a lot more bored when this finally ends. Watching train wrecks is so darn entertaining.
3235  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Question About Dragon Age II on: May 18, 2011, 10:58:12 AM
The only difference is lack of auto attack. Can anyone tell me what is 'dumbed down' about DA2? I've seen a lot of that thrown around with no real reason, and when I ask, people just deflect and say 'it's for the masses now.'

Hmmm, lemme see what I can come up with.
- Equipment have been simplified for everyone but the main character
- The Mass Effect conversation wheel: good = up, bad = down, mid = sarcastic
- Choices don't do shit, nothing will budge the overall story.
- On casual/normal difficulty, mashing A for the whole game insures victory (and I wish I was being sarcastic)
- On casual/normal difficulty, there is no need to set any tactics (the default ones are fine)
- On casual/normal difficulty, there is no real reason to use CC
- On casual/normal difficulty, it is not mandatory to use cross class combos
- No friendly fire

Most of that comes from people who played on casual/normal difficulty. I agree that when playing on hard/insane, all the tactics that weren't needed resurface. Also, it makes it obvious why they took out Friendly Fire, this game swarms so much that you really depend on nuking the entire battlefield.
Then again, they are valid complaints in a way since DA:O on normal difficulty was still quite the challenge even when using all the tactics. I've died a couple of times on normal difficulty in DA:O.

3240  The Rest / The Helper Monkey / Re: Computer speakers, bitches. on: May 17, 2011, 12:52:06 PM
I once bought great 5:1 speakers made in Germany from a renowned company. They sounded really nice and exploded after 2 years and 1 week (warranty was 2 years)
I then bought cheap ass 20$ speakers (2 speaker + subwoofer) at Future Shop and they sound pretty good and have been working for 5 years without any depolarization or noise.
Perhaps it was bad luck, but can't blame me for not wanting to fork over 600$ for speakers anymore.
