I'm tempted to buy everything so you stop bumping this thread every week

Assassin's Creed 2 is so damn good. I've never had so much fun doing the simple collection stuff.

I think I might like it better than RDR actually. I'm not deep into the story yet... but the way John was led by the nose in RDR really set me off. What I mean about 85% of missions started w/ John approaching someone and going "Do you have ____ for me? I ain't got all damn day." Then the NPC would say, "Sure Mr Marsten! Just help me do _____ ." What a shitty way to advance a story, especially one filled w/ great characters and actors.

Am I the only one here who uses one of these?

Those are ok for quick jobs, but to be honest by the time it takes going over the same spot a bunch of times to get the weird spots it's quicker to just have shaved

FYI for junk food fans.

If you love Matt's Chocolate Chip Cookies but not the price, go to Aldi and get Benton's. It's actually the same cookie w/ a generic wrapper.

1/2 the cost, about

I just spent a ton of money on Finger Lake, NY wine. Their reds are getting awesome there.

This place has awesome wine, and everything is very cheap. He's some hippie wine expert who totally rules

Probably the best winery in the Finger Lakes region:

Beer = Goose Island, not the store stuff so much, but the small batch stuff they sell on draught at the brew pub.

I also love just about any of the "major" micro-breweries mentioned already.

I love great bourbon from Kentucky. I'm not really tied to any brands, but Maker's is tasty and not a bad value.

*Pabst Blue Ribbon.  The blue ribbon means it wins awards!

*see Are You Cheap? thread

let us drink

Right now I'm having one of these. Check out the fucking can.

There are so many good breweries in Wisconsin, Illinois, and around the Midwest it's unreal. But the one beer I wish I could get here is Yuengling.

Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic game.

Yeah I don't know what I was smoking.

Think I was just being a douche.

how is Bioshock not scripted?

Granted there's not explosive set pieces like covenant ships landing and crap

Really getting into MW2, idk, owned it for a year, scratched it and re-bought it. This kind of game is totally out of my realm, but man this is rough. The airport scene is just too real, I want more

CoD is entertaining in a Michael-Bay-directed-movie sort of way. I liked MW1 more than MW2 - a little more well-told and less all over the place. I'm hoping MW3 ties up certain plot points. That airport scene was something else.

Are there any modern FPS that aren't just a bunch of scripted events like Halo and CoD seem to be? I play black ops all the time, but have never done much with the single player as it's mostly like watching a movie.

Even the best FPSers are mostly scripted in some fashion. Hopefully games like Rage and Dead Island will change that.

I'm not really a cheap person, but with contact lenses I really stretch out their lifespan.

I'm wearing a pair right now, monthly disposables. I first put them in November... 2009

(Finally getting new ones later)

I don't read poetry but I liked that.
5728  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: 3DS vs. Vita - which will be the RPG'ers choice? on: August 02, 2011, 09:26:34 AM
What if Sony allows you to use the Vita as a controller for the PS4? That would be great, despite the lack of R2 and L2 buttons.

It seems that Sony read my post...

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-08-02-sony-use-vita-as-a-ps3-controller

But they're planning on implementing that idea early for the PS3. Sounds good to me.

Sounds good here. The Vita/PS3 would probably be a better combo than whatever the WiiU is going to do

I used to LOVE watching Tosh.0 but recently the show has gotten so sick...

the last one I caught was the one w/ the nipple massage guy. It seems like the show is around just so Tosh can find a way to get naked.

Bought one in NY from best buy and got the new metal gear. played about 3 hours overnight in between bouts of WoT#4.

It's good to be home in Chicago. But the humidity and heat here blow.
