I've been wanting to get a VB just for kicks, but it's going for around 100 on ebay depending on the package.

I remember renting it from blockbuster when it came out. I know I looked like a tool playing it but i thought it was cool.

As an adult I wish to get stoned and play it.

Brilliant

Thanks for the warning. I wasn't planning on getting this right away but maybe months or a year from now.

The story and supposedly disturbing atmosphere had me interested, but if it's shitty, it's shitty.

I have to say it's sick, all the people that are blurting out over twiter and such how Japan deserved it.

Though, I bet if something like this happened to the USA there'd be assholes all over the world saying we deserved it.

I don't think the combat is any more repetitive than any other RPG. Environments, yeah, but the cast is awesome. They keep me playing.

What RPGs are you comparing it to? The waves of spawning enemies just feels so.. blergh. I don't think "other rpgs are repetitive" is really a sound point to make either.

To be fair he didn't actually say that other rpgs are repetitive so it's ok if this one is too

I grew up on Uncle Buck.

I was s'posed to see it at the brighton park theater on archer ave when it came out, but it was my aunt's birthday and she was hammered at a bar. So my mom dragged us kids to a bar to collect my drunk aunt instead of seeing it.

I love when he calls his woman to say he's not coming in to work.

Best Homer Simpson Scream at the end... BEST.
Because the internet hasn't provided a site where I can type in the description of a scene from the simpsons and it spits out a clip...I'll have to agree with you for now

Admin Edit: Really?

I only wonder, with all my mighty might, what that coulda said.

Good ol Steve Martin!! ...?  If that's him - I dunno, those shades are very distracting to the...actual face.

In addition to the other movies we shall watch, we have to watch the jerk

I need to play a game like this or 999

I'm pretty much fed up and bored w/ traditional type RPGs, esp stuff like DQ or FF. As much as I appreciate the difficulty and gameplay of Strange Journey I just don't feel like putting up with that.

I think this visual novel/puzzle type games are the future for my handheld playing. That or more actiony based, like Ys.

I essentially took the same route you did.  Turn-based needs some reeaaal innovation to hold my attention now a days.  And the only way I like visual novels is if they're clever, well-written, or yeah, have good puzzles (love a good puzzle).  I don't understand Japan's fixation on them otherwise.

Agreed. At this point if I'm going to focus on a few missed classics, or replay a few favorites.

Though I had one of the best moments in my gaming history, or at least most hilarious.

In one of the stranger missions you deliver opium money to some englishmen. Well I followed him around after to steal it. Eventually he sits down in front of one of the poker tables in whatever town it is. I lassoed him around the ankles and dragged him around for a bit, to the howling laughter of some rowdy hombres.

The fact that the game programmed NPCs to take delight in the suffering of others is just incredible.

Well I punched him around for a bit, then stabbed him, got my $1k back

I'm actually too lazy for religion.

This was a clever ruse to hang out.

I'll take car of snax.

I don't want to start a holy war here but it's been like that since religion was invented. Love for mankind and peace for all, except for those that won't conform, hack them to pieces.

That's why I built a religion around The Great Machine, it's wheels and gears turned by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, and a few fictional sci-fi characters.

At it's peak there was two members. Since I hate the other guy I assume he created the reformed branch.

You have to watch Commando with me three times, Conan once on your own, then play Baldur's Gate on xbox with me.

Also, Lev brings up a good point, what the hell is your avatar?

Hmmm...  Go on.  And, if one would want to join - I'm not saying I am, but how would one JOIN said religion?
