Playing the demo on xbox.

Game is going to be a lot of fun if you liked the 1st one.

I picked a female mage.

They throw you into combat right away. This probably isn't as good looking as some of the great looking PC rpgs out there but the visuals are much improved. The combat animations are really great as well. More awesome voice acting already.

One change in the gameplay I like is when you select a spell or whatever in the radial menu it doesn't close automatically, so you can switch to the next character and choose something instead of having to repause.

After you play a brief battle they take you to character modification, which doesn't work for the demo.

edit:
up close the character models look about the same, maybe a bit better, but the major uplift is in the detail of the environments. much better looking.

What missing dialog is there?

It's pretty much considered the best version of the game. I've played through the 3do version probably 5-10 times and then the free-ware Ur-Quan Masters version a few times as well.

3DO version had excellent voice acting and incredible music

If you don't think the 3DO soundtrack is awesome, then you don't like vg music

So I'm making the final plunge, moving in w/ my +1 soon.

As a result I've been going over every square inch of my parents place, trying to find all the games I once had that I haven't played since before 2000. I know I did loan a lot of PS1 titles to my brother, but I did keep some. I know I also loaned a lot of N64 stuff out, but not all.

Earlier in the year i found my N64 but it only had perfect dark slapped into it.

Well just now I looked in the most unlikely of boxes and came across some great loot.

GoldenEye (i had just bought a new one on sat lol), pilotwings, mario 64, and ocarina.

I also found Metal Gear Solid, Wild 9, and FF8.

A HILARIOUS surprise was Samurai Showdown and Road Rash for 3DO as well as the 3DO flightstick. and also a softcore porn game for 3do called "the coven"

Well this just makes me mad because I know the 3DO is around somewhere...(i never did get rid of it) but last I remember when I moved away the 1st time was I had packed it into a box that was sort of nondescript. And I have a feeling my parents tossed it at some point.

That makes me sad because I had the 3do version of Star Control 2... absolutely my hands down favorite game.

Anyone know if the speech challenge achievement for Fallout 3 is for a single playthrough or across multiple games? I'm stuck in the 30s (need 50) and I'm pretty much done w/ the game. just the broken steel missions

Hmm.  I thought it was just a matter of being a chatty-idiot to everyone and about everything.  I can't remember when I got it though...

This is what happens when you dedicate too much effort into tracking the careers of japanese videogame vocal talent, you lose real game knowledge

j/k

She's not the best thing ever but her fun personalty ... ok let's stop talking about kotaku girl

I hardly ever throw up the night of drinking...

But I sometimes do the next day. It's like a placebo effect at that time. I'll have a bad hangover, but just throw up any water/juice/or food I consumed in the morning. Weird. Then hangover gone

Chick is cute

I stopped watchign when you said she was cute.... brrrr.
The article was a good read.  An strangely simple point I never really considered.  People blatantly act drunk when in reality they just try to act sober.  I will consider this for my thursday drama classes!

You don't think she's cute?

I made a damn ass out of myself on saturday. I was the token new guy in a group of people. Things were good in the beginning but by the end I was drinking a mixture of rum, vault or mountain dew, and UV blue.

It looked like purple death.

On the way back we took a dead end turn into an alley, trying to find the train stop. Felt like trapped rats.

+1 was drunk and wanted to throw up. I offered to show her how as we're stumbling, since I can vomit on command, but I didn't mean to puke.

I ended up hurling every 5 feet while we're walking

"hey!!! wai..!! *RALPH*"

The place I was at is strictly retro-style stuff.

I'm probably going to get most of my old games from them. I'm finding that bidding on ebay is a joke. Unless you can find a good buy it now deal ebay is worthless.

That story had it all. The triumph of sports. Animal kingdom violence. Medical mystery drama. A boy growing up.

Also, come over and look at my cat and make it die

I fucking hate and love my girlfriend's cats at the same time. One is the cutest thing ever. It's not overweight, doesn't really wreck shit, and just sits on your lap. The other one is a jittery fuck that's fat as hell, and craps IN FRONT of the litterbox instead of going inside it.

Now a dog you can basically take to the load on the floor, and administer some punishment and they won't do it again (in my experience that works) but cats can't be trained. The killer is that he's clearly using the thing to piss in because there isn't cat piss all over the place.

Is this some sort of protest?

I'm going to buy my lady this as a gag gift for her bday
