Oh god I hate chase sequences in games too. I can't think of one that freaked me out right now but something similar is Friday the 13th for NES.

You'd be chillin in some cabin then *LOUD NOISE* Jason is there and murders your ass.

Plus the whole game kids are getting killed. I remember playing that as a kid and thinking it was scary/odd that this game was based around kids getting murdered. This wasn't goombas or ninjas and that freaked me out a bit.

Of course now I look at it and go "what a terrible... terrible game."

Those pictures are freaky. Again, when I was a youngin my cousins all had garbage pail kid cards. They disturbed me

Now they're just a grosser version of edward gorey's stuff.

I had never heard of albert odyssey until this thread... looked it up and it's very interesting, but the battles look painfully slow.

I'm sitting here listening to the tristram village theme from diablo and it reminded me of the butcher encounter early on in that game. Now when that game came out I was 14 and no stranger to games of all sorts and horribly violent movies. But something about that just scared the living crap out of me, especially the way line of site works in that game. Open that door and you get a glimpse of that guy storming around the room.

Well of course, it's supposed to be a bit scary. But being anxious about a game has happened plenty of times.

Most recently it's big action titles. Games like Dead Space for example. I've had that game for a few months now and haven't made it past chapter 2. I fucking love it. I think the anxiety comes from not knowing exactly how I'm going to get my ass handed to me in that game. It also does a damn good job of making me feel isolated and vulnerable.

Also this happens in non-scary games as well. I was just playing Sonic 1 the other day and doing the robotnik battle in labyrinth zone. The ever rising water and trying to dodge shit left me a nervous wreck lol.

Does anyone else experience this at times?

It is funny you mention that about peer pressure and WoW. My cousin (who happens to be one of my best buds) is a WoW addict. The few times I manage to get him away from it, be it a movie or bar, people he usually plays with CALL HIM UP and practically beg him to log on.

Not that I think it's weird that you'd develop social connections from a game (or a message board ) but to be at a bar and have 3-4 phone calls to get your ass online is a bit much. I felt like I was watching the Guild.

the amount of dialog in red dead is unreal. I'm playing a mission where you break the rebel leader guy out of jail. I got near the end but I rode my horse off a cliff and died. On the 2nd try they had a completely different conversation during the mission.

Pretty cool, but two unique conversations for one situation is far out

The flower shops scene is epic.

Also, that's how starmongoose throws a football.

Thoren is like that alter ego of Andy Kauffman, Tony Clifton. You just aren't sure if you're supposed to take him seriously or not.

I actually broke down and bought a brand new Sega Saturn for $100. Guardian Heroes for $80 and Panzer Dragoon 1 & Zwei for $30. Not bad in my opinion.

Awesome. That's a good deal for guardian

Since this was bumped I might as well say that HBP was one of my favorite HP books. The movie was a huge let down. Almost as big of a letdown as when I'll meet Starmongoose.
