accessing the map in FF1 on the PSP by hitting select and circle is absolutely ridiculous. The guy that made that decision must be the worlds biggest joker.

What I mean by cats is that it's hard to break long standing habits.

I've been dating my current +1 for about 8 months or so now. She's had her two cats for about 7 years. When we 1st got together she was about to move out of a shitty apartment into a new condo, so the place was a wreck. Cats went wherever they wanted (including onto the kitchen counter and wood cutting board, this grossed me big time) and there was balls of cat hair the size of children rolling around.

Well since I've been in the picture they don't go on shit when people are around. They're allowed on couches when people are on them. But at night they still go crazy and jump on shit. Sometimes I'll wake up in the middle of the night and creep out and spy on them, making sure they behave.

This is a crazy story. We went for a week vacation and her downstairs neighbors fed and gave them water for that week. She said every night she could here the cats running up and down the lenght of the condo and each night all the couch pillows (all the couch pillows, not just the small ones, the bigg fuckers people sit on) were tossed on the floor.

I had a dog as kid. Best thing ever. A german shepard / lab mutt.

Smart and friendly. Well behaved and everything. I'll get a dog one day. preferably a huskie

Eh. Then if that's his argument then it's pretty out of place in an RPG forum.

Take a game like DQ8 or any standard RPG that any of us have devoted untold hours to. Are any of us blown away by the ending? Or is it the experience getting there that draws us in?

I have not finished WoT and I'm not trying to make excuses for drawn out endings, but if I'm as entertained as I am along the way a less than stellar ending will sit just fine. Of course I hope for the best.

Same thing w/ LotR. Books were absolutely brilliant, but the climax was obvious from page one and was less than thrilling when it happened. But the book remains a landmark in fiction.

TY

I used to hate cats. Dating chix that have them changes your mind. They can be bastards and don't respond to the kind of training dogs do (because cats are stupid) but when they're cute and fun they are awesome

I think I said earlier in this thread that anyone interested in this series could just save themselves a lot of time and read Ayn Rand's "Anthem".  "Faith of the Fallen" is why I tell people that.  Take that as you will. :P

In the interest of discussion, why should we want to do that?

When I read a fantasy book I look for and enjoy a richly detailed world filled with legends, lore, and centered around an interesting premise. I like characters that grow and explore and I like moments of action.

Does Anthem provide any of that?

I played quite a bit of Pilgrom on xbox.

It's damn fun but only if you have someone to play with.

I had an extra laying around.

If I come across it I'll let you know.

I have a feeling it's lost in time and space

7016  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Collectibles (fancy saying for plastic junk we must have) on: December 29, 2010, 11:12:06 AM
I forgot I have a huge mountain of Knights of the Dinner Table comics and compilations.

Fucking hilarious. It's nothing but people playing pen and paper RPGs but it's written so well. I'm missing a ton of the series but someday I'll have them all

mwahahahahaha

Bart and Lisa

They're good cats but they like to get into trouble. The other day Bart (white) thought'd be funny to piss on the floor. This morning the freezer door was open. I was all WTF until I realized that Lisa was missing. So she hopped on top of the fridge then jumped up to the top of the kitchen cabinets.

7019  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Your biggest surprise and disappointment of this year. on: December 28, 2010, 02:52:24 PM
I guess for me the biggest surprise is getting back into gaming. I was away for a few years and didn't think I'd come back. That and dropping close to 140 hours on DQIX in about two months.

I'm in the same boat. I bought an xbox in 09 just to play oblivion, played the fuck out of it, then got bored. Then during the superbowl I saw ads for something called Mass Effect 2 and went "hmmm.." and picked up the 1st for cheap.

I was drawn in big time.

I think she's lost too much weight and looks like a twig.

But I'm basing that off of a movie I've seen years ago. Hopefully she put some meat on her.
