I'll be drinking bourbon while playing this game.

Hell, I might even take up smoking just to enhance my experience with this game.

I wish people still dressed like that. That's when men were men and women were women. Now everything is mass produced crap from old navy or walmart.

7038  The Rest / General Discussions / Gaming Regrets... on: February 09, 2011, 06:51:17 PM
I regret getting rid of my NES and SNES... I never had huge libraries of games but I did have some classics. I can do w/o the NES but more then ever I want to play some of my old SNES favorites and even ones I missed out on. I know that in the future I'll be blowing a lot of money on "vintage" games.

I also regret lending games out to people. In the early 00s I lent my buddy Rob a ton of N64 games because he broke up with his +1 and had wanted to play some games. Well after a while I forgot about all of them and nearly ten years later I'm never getting them back. I still hang out w/ him all the time but he doesn't have them. Probably his little brother did something with them, traded them in for new crap. At least most N64 games are cheap though. I still have my console, 3 controllers, and Perfect Dark.

Wow.

You know, I almost want that book just to see the look on people's faces when they see it. :)

When I was a kid I read a "Doom" book.

I thought it was rad.

It sounds like you hate anything that pushes the bounds beyond the status quo of Hollywood movies because they are "pretentious." I've never seen the movie, but I know of it and it sounds like a pretty damn good movie.

No, I have a wide range of tastes and I like movies from all over the place. Rachel Getting Married is pretentious.

The character writing is terrible. Scenes drone on forever.

I am exactly the kind of person who goes to a movie and says "Wasn't as good as the book". I am sorry.

Gotta say, my personal theory is that whichever came first is always better.  Book made into a movie?  Book's better.  Movie given a novelization?  Movie's better.  I've never found an exception.

Not even The Princess Bride, which is an awesome movie.  The book came first, and it's even better.

LOL. My friend was at a coworkers house helping them set up a network or something. He spied their bookcase and they had a novelization of the movie Spawn.

Ridiculous. Just terrible.

That movie was a pretentious conglomeration of over dramatic tripe and indie film-making.

The stupid rehearsal dinner. The purposelessly unique characters (fey asian dude who refuses to be away from his pink, kids, sunglasses for example), the unlikely UN meeting group of people involved...Oh my god the scene where they're chanting the bride and groom's names
"rachel rachel rachel sydney sydney sydney" BARF

The dad asking people who wants hamburgers but he inexplicably calls them "hungerbungers"

The group of musicians just lazing around jamming. In most scenes there's some asshole sitting there playing a guitar or some shit.

Oh how about the action packed dishwasher loading scene?! Oh that was fun! Not to mention the fact that he left out his son's cherished plate for some random wedding douche to use.

And what was the wedding ceremony? A mish mosh of Indian, Christian, and Other?

I've seen this movie twice and my hate continues to grow. Sure, Hathaway is good in it but this movie is garbage.

I just watched a gameplay vid on gameinformer...

This looks very fun and very unique.

Oh i have no doubt about that. I'm just curious to see the art direction and such.

Have I told you all about my hate for Rachel Getting Married?

7046  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: February 09, 2011, 01:26:08 PM
Oh I'll see it, eventually. And I'm willing to bet I'll love it.

I think this is all repressed rage from the Expendables not being as good as it should've been.

My heart swells with pride

I refuse to see king's speech because it seems like the stuffy kind of movie made purely to compete in the oscars. Yes I know it's critically acclaimed and yes I realize I sound like a moron... but when I think of King's Speech it reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where Mel Gibson remade Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and everyone liked it. Except Homer. I am Homer.
