As far as I know Chicago took this in stride. Lake Shore Drive was shut down all night and parts of the morning, and people that were foolish or desperate to drive overnight got caught in drifts blowing around, but today bus service and most of the train service was up.

Not like pissy NYC, which had to shut down :P

I'll take pics later.

I came down to my 'rents house the other night b/c I knew they'd need help digging out. We have a snow drift in our driveway like I've never seen before.

Eating toast and praying now.

Honestly, there's not that much snow here. Maybe because I grew up much further north, I'm used to it. The amount of snow we got was a "normal" day when I was a kid.

("Back in MY day" etc.)

Also, I love being able to go back to bed and sleep in til 1pm. :D

Where are you at?

This was a big deal because of the high winds and the amount of snow. Apparently it's the 3rd biggest snowfall in Chicago history, but it probably made a difference where you lived. My friend in the South Loop only had a foot or so outside. Here in the South Burbs well... (uploading pics... photobucket is taking forever)

I'm so glad our big snow is over with. Ah, how I missed the rain.

What passes for "snow" in the UK? When the Whigs take off their...wigs and wig powder goes flying?

I find Two and a Half Men to be terrible.

But who am I to judge... I find enjoyment in Mike and Molly.

about 1/2 way done w/ season 4 of The Wire. An awesome show but I feel that the 1st 2 seasons were the best.

Community is a damn awesome show but it's hard when it's the 1st in the lineup. Every week I get together w/ friends to watch Community, Office, and 30 Rock then a dvr'ed Tosh.0.

Well last week I didn't and I watched them all on hulu but in this order office, 30 rock, then community and it seemed 100 times funnier.

Dice, 1st season of Comm. was incredible, there was less (at least it seemed that way) of the characterization of all the characters. It seems like in season 2 they're all dramatized to the extreme. I still love it though.

30 Rock is amazing when you realize how awesome Jenna is. That weird thing she had going on w/ that dude that acted like her at a strip clubs was incredible.

We made homemade hot chocolate mix. It's really fucking easy and beats the snot out of that swiss miss shit.

Here's the recipe if ya'll want.

http://www.cookscountry.com/recipe.asp?recipeids=3924&bdc=47088&Extcode=L1AN1AA00

We made a 1/2 recipe since that's a ridiculous amount.

Putting the chopped white chocolate chips didn't work too well. I'd either skip that or buy a bar of chocolate and shave off teeny pieces. Chopped bits don't melt fully.
