Media / Single-Player RPGs / Dragon Quest Swords

It's a little fun at first, but I got sick of it fairly fast. It does have that Dragon Quest charm that I love so much, but the slashing controls weren't very accurate I found, and it made the game kind of frustrating. For example, there may be a situation where you have to execute a horizontal slash, but it comes out diagonally and you miss your target, and your accuracy score takes a hit. Happened to me all the time.

Final Fantasy IV Advance and Infinite Undiscovery. I seriously hope you meant FFIV DS... FFIV Advance has been out for years. Yeah, I did. My bad. I think it's because I was also thinking of Final Fantasy Tactics A2 at the time. Also looking forward to Dragon Quest IV if it does come out.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / Xenosaga III aka How I gave up on Xenosaga II

Looks like I'm not the only one who skipped over Xenosaga II. I've never actually played it to be honest. I heard it wasn't very good and never got around to playing it. Xenosaga III however is one of the best RPG's I've played in the past few years. Really enjoyed it.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / How Did You Play Final Fantasy XII?

I really liked Final Fantasy XII. I'm still playing it, actually. I've got about 70 hours on it. For the most part, I stick to controlling Ashe, and my companions had basic gambits, like attack who the leader attacks, cure any allies under 50% HP, etc. I eventually made all my characters tanks, apart from Penelo, who was my only character without a sword or shield.
I usually take a lot of time to steal and gain loot from enemies and try to equip myself as good as I can before moving on, which can be very time consuming, but I enjoy the battles, so it's all good.

I'm thinking I might pick this up. To be honest, I've never played Resident Evil 4, but it looks too good to pass up. From what I've heard, the Wii controls work well. The only thing preventing me from buying it is the large backlog of games I've worked myself in to.

GrimReality's post reminded me of Breath of Fire IV. After spending most of the game trying to find Nina's sister, you finally find her only to find out she's been basically mutated, and she asks Cray to kill her, in one damn sad scene.

I'm re-playing Final Fantasy VII at the momment, untill I get my PS2 back from someone I lent it to. When I get that back I'm gonna start up Odin Sphere, and I need to get around to finishing Xenosaga III, Suikoden V and Final Fantasy XII.

Dragon Quest VIII This game had a few tragic deaths of some really undeserving characters, but the one that really got to me was the death of David, the guy who was basically a slave for Master Dominico. Here's this really nice guy, who gets pushed around and treated poorly. It looks as if he's lead a really hard life, and he gets killed because it turns out he's a sage or whatever it was, it's been a while since I've played the game. I was sad when he died, cause I had felt really bad for his character.
