Don't you think that if "everyone" talks about it crashing then maybe there's more to it than, presumably few, "unlucky people who got a bad cart"? Apparently the crashes have something to do with certain status effects, and they weren't that huge of a problem anyway (I think the game crashed on me only twice). But in any event, Atlus kinda messed up. Great game, though.
I don't know what causes the crash but it's never happened to me, so I can't say Atlus messed up. Besides, it's not actually Atlus who programs and develops these games, right? They only publish them. Sometimes during the localization process it is possible to add glitches and things accidentally even if all they are doing is modifying text files or whatever most of the time.

The dude's path where you meet Gardner for the first time. UMD/newest official FW/PSP-2000. I know it crashed for other people at the exact same spot too.
hmm I guess it is either because I have a psp 3000, or I just got lucky. sucks for the ppl that happened to though

(same story with Hexyz Force where in one place in the US version you had to fast forward the dialogue to avoid crashing. The Japanese version was supposedly fine)
what part of the game was this? I got the creation ending with both characters and never had it crash

Just out of curiosity, why do you all think a great game like Sakura Wars bombed? The failure of So Long, My Love pretty much doomed the series in the US.
It's not like it was a bad game(like Growlanser V) or had a bad localization(like Ar Tonelico 2). They did everything right.
So why did it fail?

I thought there were a couple things that didn't make sense in the story, but seeing as how it is a time traveling RPG it really isn't avoidable IMO. The story is more the lighthearted fun type anyway so I think you're missing the point if you're nitpicking story details too much.
Also the game has Robo......and honestly who doesn't like Robo...

Infinite Space is my favorite because it is very unique, has a good story, and lots of customization. Runner up would be Knights in the Nightmare and Chrono Trigger (if you count it). Playing Devil Survivor now and I really like it so far tho

Silent protagonists are manly.
yeah they are =] Manliest non-silent protagonist I would say is Yuri (adult) from Infinite Space. Unlike his younger self that you play as for the first half of the game, adult Yuri both looks and acts badass. Unfortunately finding pics or vids with him in it seems to be impossible. -__-

Yeah I've been getting these, they are very good. I'm really looking forward to Chronicles because I even liked the DS version that people don't like, so how much more will I like the real version? Wouldn't be surprsied if it winds up being my favorite cause Ys 2 is awesome
liked seven more than oath btw

Non-random battles are better if they are done well like in Grandia games, Evolution games, or Growlanser Heritage of War. Grandia and Evolution basically have the same exact encounter system. You can generally avoid enemies if you want to (though I recall it being quite difficult or impossible in Grandia 1 many times) but if you touch them you enter a battle sequence. If you run into them from behind you get the advantage and vice versa. Growlanser Heritage of War there is no battle sequence transition of any kind, you just fight them or run past them as you will in realtime (though you can pause to issue commands). However, there are many games where these kinds of systems wouldn't really work so I can understand the use of random encounters. I was told that Panzer Dragoon Saga's random encounters are kinda like that where you can actually make creatures go extinct if you fight them enough or something like that.
Yeah prettymuch. In that game your radar changes color depending on the likelihood of random encounters occuring. Red means high chance blue means little or no chance. If you fight enough in the same area the radar will generally change color and you won't get into any more battles, or far fewer.

You made a thread in The Bazaar that you're going to sell your PSP. That's all the argument I need.
LOL you're right Farron: I'd encourage you to keep at it. The tutorials are really long and I could see it turning people away, but there's never been a game like that so some kind of long tutorial is going to be needed. Maybe they should have put in a cliffnotes version >_> I could help if you got questions but would be better in another topic or something
