Easiest boss in the game.

Meanwhile I'm fighting Sam...

she probably is but she's also the first boss (besides metal gear ray) so it should be that way. I think Sundowner gives her a run for her money though.  he's such a complete joke if you abuse the evade slash and ignore the shields entirely.  he's easier to hit than any other boss, even mistral, because he can't run away from you and you can hit him nearly constantly.  he also gets staggered a lot.  I feel like Platinum kinda dropped the ball on that boss fight because they clearly intend for you to destroy his shields but most people aren't doing that because it is easier if you don't.  They should have made it so that you HAVE to destroy his shields imo

the difficulty of the game comes more from the normal enemies than the bosses though imo.  Those Mastiffs (the gorilla things) are pretty sick.  on very hard and up the sword grunts are really tough too because they abuse parry and have high atk/def

Also I really like the desperado version of Raiden's body/armor.

Me too.  I have basicallly been using it non-stop ever since I started my 2nd play of the game.  As for me, I'm taking a bit of a break from it to play Pandora's Reflection (which came out the same day).  will try revengence mode when I play it again.  missing some VR missions and data collection things still too

News tidbit:

Director Shiotani Naoyoshi has announced on his Twitter account that they will revise the animation of Psycho-Pass episode 18. He apologized for airing the episode incomplete.

(I did not do this image, credit to someone on this planet somewhere)

it's funny cause I didn't notice those faces but I did notice it in some other parts and I was like what lol

which chapter 7 boss?  theres 2

Code:
Senator Armstrong.

the same thing happened to me, when I got to him i had no nanopaste left and died many times.  however
Code:
if you can manage to get him to about 150% health he will start throwing things at you and if you cut them succesffuly they drop a million healing nanopaste.  so for me the only hard part was the beginning, after that you have so much health it's hard to lose

Had to restart from the beginning for not having health packs thanks to the boss in Chapter 7.

I played the demo for this some more, and I think I might try renting it. (wah want PC version). What I've seen from later in the game looks pretty solid, if absurd. I'm feeling a bit warmer towards it after having played and loved DmC.

Don't expect DmC out of this. If anything MGR is like I've said before, a mix between Vanquish and Ninja Gaiden.

which chapter 7 boss?  theres 2

The pole arm is very useful. Same with the Kai for when I want to get at Sliders or whatever the bird thing is called. Or target certain dudes in a crowd and go right to them. Yadda yadda.

I'm guessing Sundowner's is good for guarding but I haven't gotten it yet. It's weird to imagine Raiden using that though, the shields are bigger than him. lmao

nah you get his swords....if they were SUPER big.  it's really slow and powerful

Playing as Sam? I hope you fight Raiden as him. That would be fun.

Still stuck on the same boss. WTF.

I know this is gonna sound like really dumb advice but against Monsoon it seems like you really have to just parry everything lol.  Don't sweat trying to lock on to him just aim where he appears and parry, and keep parrying till something leaves him open.
Code:
When he goes in his "you can't cut me mode" and starts doing his stretchy arm attacks parrying him will alllow you to break up his body parts individually and you'll eventually get to hit his weak point if you keep parrying and destroying his parts.  I'm not that great at fighting him yet but that's what I had to do to beat the copy monsoon later.  Only reason I beat him the first time without dying was cause I had 5 auto-repair nanopaste stocked lol.  vs the copy monsoon I actually had to learn to fight him decently since I didn't have more than one repair pack.  also, if he hits you with his launcher kick you can air parry the followup [code]

not saying to ONLY parry but I'm saying I think you'll need to do it a lot to beat him.  also I want to mention that the evading slash is really good and has invulnerablity time but I'm not sure if it will help on monsoon.  very useful on some other large enemies and bosses though.

Oh I beat Monsoon a couple days ago and the other thing yesterday. I'm now on Sundowner.

I basically ended up parrying a lot of Monsoon's bullshit. If I was terrible at it before, I'm halfway decent now.[/code]

Code:
sundowner's shield is so damn picky to break.  the evade slash owns him so hard though.  you can just wear him down with quick attacks and just cancel to evade slash whenever he attacks or does the shield

the boss weapons are really cool.  mistral's spear is powerful and has crazy crowd control and monsoon's dagger is great vs airborne opponents.  not sure what Sundowner's is for though.  it's so slow I'm not sure when it would be good to use it

Nippon Ichi also confirmed Asagi will be in Disgaea Dimension 2

Come on Nippon Ichi, make her goddamn game already. It's seriously sad to see her get shelved in every game =(

That's the joke, dood.

Too bad it has never been funny

Anyways, how long is the game, roughly speaking?

Just cleared for the first time today at 5hr 6min. It certainly took longer though so it's clearly not counting something, probably deaths.  I died 41 times iirc lol.  Not sure if cutscenes and codec calls counted toward my time. There is quite a lot of stuff hidden to collect though, special boxes, vr missions, left hands...lots of upgrades to buy as well.  Plus the game is fun as hell anyway so it should have strong replay value.

Yea that theme is great.  I'm pleased by all the stuff they put in to collect, should help with replay value, though the game is so fun I'm sure I'll beat it many times.

This is the most ridiculously stylish game

Switching gears, Spring looks fucking epic.  Shingeki no Kyojin is a must-see, I've read some of Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko and it's quite good

yup those are the ones I am looking forward to as well.

Looking forward to getting this next week :)

I admit that I really didn't care for Trails in the Sky, but it would be great if 2/3 got localized. I'd hate for TitS fans to get the Shining Force 3 Scenario 2/3 treatment. I still hurt to this day.

it really does look like it will wind up that way >_>
