Side note: Anyone notice that NIS is becoming more overtly socio-political in their recent games?
ZHP had some blatant moments where it felt like an after-school special of yesteryear from time to time (the biggest example is the 3-4 minute rant about bullying).
Hyperdimension Neptunia, while I can't remember the specifics, seemed to have some things to say of similar tone (albeit more camouflaged in comedic jabbing) regarding gamers and the industry.
Now you have Disgaea 4...with the "Corrupterment" and very, very obvious references to modern events and mindsets.
Kinda detracts from the games IMO. :-\ I'm almost afraid how preachy the next NIS title will be.
I did notice that actually, but I don't really mind it either. ZHP and Disgea 4 have more political references than other NIS games I've played. ZHP has a whole character dedicated to making fun of america, Disgaea 4 has cam-pain, cabinet, presidents, "are you a demoflat or a rebooblican?", etc...
Just beat it btw (main story anyway). Nemo's voice is so freaking bad and I hate his character. The story in this game basically blows, the humor is much lighter than 1 or 3 and suffers from many characters who only seem to have one joke. Also, not that this is necessarily bad but did anyone else think this game has a really small cast of characters? other than the 6 main player characters you've got Axel, Netherworld President, Nemo....and that's all I can think of. Gripes aside, I am still having a lot of fun with the game. It's still the same fun formula but the new stuff (like giant monster fusions) are cool and I like the upgraded graphics. and Glorious Hitter is the coolest move
edit: HD Asagi on PSN is available as DLC. for free. (though it seems she won't be usable yet even if you do from what I'm reading on gamefaqs...)
