1  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Fallout 4 on: October 01, 2015, 11:06:40 AM
Nothing screams "buy me!" from what's been shown so far, and I'm not excited about the Boston location. I'll wait a while before passing judgment though.

I'm glad that the environment in Fallout 4 appears to be more diverse. While I understand that the desert is part of the motif in New Vegas, I feel that it needed some more diversity in certain parts. Granted, maybe the lack of diversity is what they were going for due to it being a desert. I'm glad that Bethesda is biting the bullet and going full boar in accepting the first person shooter aspect of what Fallout has become. New Vegas did a better job at it than Fallout 3, so here's hoping it will be more polished in Fallout 4. On the flip side, I'm glad that they are going to reward those who want to still use V.A.T.S with more punishing-induced shots (if I remember correctly).

At the end of it, like you, I'm going to wait on it before I buy it. I want to make sure all the game-crippling "bugs" are fixed before I purchase it.

I pity the fool who puts time into FFX's minigames. Tidus getting Blitzbombed in X-2.5 though... 10/10 moment.

gg Nojima.

As you get older, there is less of it.

I believe that's why I don't like tedious side-quests: they are waste of time. If they were more fulfilling or if they added more depth to a character or the story, then I would like enjoy them more. Either that or limit the tediousness of the side-quest by making it shorter. Certain games are better at integrating the story/characters in the side-quest than others. FFX is not one of them.

Now go despair at the human race and/or hope some of these are a bad joke

I hope some of those people are trolling or misspoke. Sadly, I'm sure it's all real.

5  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Trails in the Sky FC PC release July 29th on: February 27, 2015, 07:44:36 PM
I decided to take a little hiatus from FC so I can immediately follow it up with the second once its released. I want the transition to be seamless. I reckon that I'll end up forgetting some details if I hurry up and finish the FC now.

It's not the color of the dress that matters but how well it will burn in a fire.

Playing devil's advocate here, what if that money was crowdfunded into decaying infrastructure, paying off debt, scientific r&d and cancer research. Imagine the possibilities. . .

The American Dream doesn't include any of those things.
8  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Suikoden 1 and 2 finally coming to psn + Suikoden discussion. on: February 19, 2015, 05:02:05 PM
I don't really remember how I acquired Suikoden I when I was younger, but I think it may have been on a whim. I do remember thinking that the artwork in the case look somewhat cheesy. The first game drew me in and Suikoden II sealed the love that I have for the series.

I would rank the entries in this order:

The only toss up that I have in the rankings is I and III. III had a better story and tied things in from I, yet the gameplay was way too slow and deviated from I thought was unique to the overall series. I's story may have not been as good as III's but it was the introduction to the series and wasn't bad by any means. I found the gameplay in I more enjoyable than III's.

Also, I messed in V and wasn't able to get all the characters. I was too far along in the game to want to restart. Something happens that causes the ending to one or another way. I found the alternate ending where the player didn't get all the 108 people to be more realistic and enjoyable. It wasn't all "happy, happy, joy, joy".
9  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of PlayStation(s) revealed on: February 19, 2015, 04:10:36 PM
Due to me not getting a PS3, the last Tales game that I played was Abyss . It was my favorite out of the ones I played.

side note: Who pays attention/finds out about this kind of stuff? Granted, 3 hours (looking at the "last record update") is plenty of time to find about something but, still, I find it interesting that people are able to find out about it.

URL says a lot, she was 11 years old and urged by parents to abandon chemotherapy (despite a 75% survival stat!) because of Jesus and faith.

I have no problem with religious people or religion, except when stupid stuff like this happens.

As a person of very little faith (besides hoping doggy heaven exists), I've always liked that quote "God helps those who help themselves" --- I feel like this is almost certainly applicable to the scenario.

I'm curious as to the belief(s) of her parents.  For example, Jehovah's Witnesses (whom I would not identify as "Christian" for theological reasons) usually shun the idea of medical help because it is of the "world". Regardless of the parent's background, it was awful and unwise of them to avoid medical help for their daughter.

I don't get what level of vocal talent people are expecting for a road trip segment.  My initial gripes aside with the really lame last lines Noctis spouts out (and yeah, this does sound placeholder) then this is much ado about nothing.
If the big, emotional, and dramatic scenes sound like this in the end product, then we can all point and laugh again. x)

What are we fighting for...aggghaaaarrrrr?!?

I can't get over the fact that the cast is traveling in a car. It makes sense as far as logistically. Just seems odd that they are taking a evening stroll and seeing a giant deformed elephant creature lurking on the horizon. I can't imagine what pee-breaks look like.

Game looks cool. Right up my alley. Will get it.

So I found this picture on Imgur.  Apparently the user needs to get a colonoscopy (which means a shit load of laxatives before the examination)....  This looks awesome though.

For me to poop on.

Finished the final season of The Killing. It tied up loose ends and didn't drag things out near as bad as in other seasons. Granted, it was only six episodes.
