I've taken a break from Dougram (which has been consistantly awesome for 25 eisodes) since I read a major spoiler that I now need to forget. Now I'm watching Pretty Cure, and so far it's been ...impressively tame for a magical girl show. Very little fanservice and the girls aren't overly cute or anything, and their tastes in boys are a little closer to their age. I really like the characters so far, though I wish the purple haired girl got some more development, but I guess that'll be the next episode. With that said, the action scenes so far have been horrible in virtually every way possible. It's like their from a low budget tokusatsu film or something. The first episode was especially terrible. Also, it doesn't look like it'll have much of a story. I'll keep watching, but don't be surprised if I get bored of it halfway through...

EDIT: Episode 4 of Pretty Cure was surprisingly awesome - even the action was good! Seriously, only problem is they solved the one mystery this show had, and it was kinda disappointing. The next one also looks like it could be interesting. Could this mean the show is actually picking up and could turn out better than I thought? Either way, I'm now going in with renewed enthusiasm.

This is the happiest day of my life for the 4th time this year.

Just finished The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, fun show

One of my favorite comedies, which is saying a lot since I find most comedies unfunny.

So I finally saw a trailer of Dog Days', and it actually looks pretty cool. At the very least, it's not what I expected, which was just a harem anime with a bunch of cute dog-eared girls.

EDIT: And now I found out both seasons will be on Crunchyroll. Hoorah.

I saw that a while ago, but figured no one here cared about Sailor Moon (I know I don't). The fact that it's getting a simultaneous release around the world is impressive, however.

EDIT: I'm watching Fang of the Sun Dougram, and so far it's been great. 9 episodes in and there's been a lot of good action featuring a large mix of ground and air vehicles, as well as a lot of foot soldier combat; a good set up for a potentially great plot with loads of political intrigue; and some really natural characters (even the side characters play their parts well, if you know what I mean) with a few standouts already, including the lead man. My only complaints are that the old school animation is somewhat inconsistant, and that it's been pretty slow to start. Really, I'm on episode 9 and we're just seeing the Dougram. It's not that bad though - it never feels like nothing's happening and there's always some conflict and story progression going on (unlike, say, Eureka Seven).

I'll let you guys know how it goes. I've heard very good things about this so far, some people even putting it in the same league as the old school Gundams. I never expected it to, but so far, it seems like it could actually live up to those exoectations. That's pretty good, since as far as I can tell, this is Ryosuke Takahashi's first work as a director, and out of the ones I've seen, this is already one of his best. Would be interesting if it turns out that he made a masterpiece on his first try.

I finished Trigun today. To put it simply, it was great. A little rough around the edges at times, but otherwise it was a lot of fun to watch with fantastic and memorable comedy throughout. When it got serious, though, it got dead serious, and while I didn't always enjoy it, when it pulled it off, it was beautiful. The action was intense, and I loved that Vash always tried to minimize the casualties. I can't stand to see people die. Music was great, the look could've been better but otherwise it worked well enough. Nothing bad to say really, except the ending was a tad anti-climactic.

@Mickeymac92: Do you know there's a movie of Trigun? Sadly I haven't seen it yet, but plenty of people has said that is pretty damn good.

Yup. Gonna track down that and the cowboy Bebop movie down pretty soon once I'm done with Trigun.

Been watching a lot of Trigun with my bro. It's been hilarious for most of the ride, but it's been getting more and more serious until it finally went super ultra serious in episode 12. It was such a dramatic shift in tone that I almost didn't like it. I suppose it should be refreshing after all the comedy, but I dunno, it just didn't feel right. Wonder how it's gonna be from here on out...

And running gag with the cat is starting to get on my nerves...

Just saw the first episode of Total Eclipse, and I must say, this is exactly what I need right now. Alternative histories, alien invasions, mecha action with lots of attention to detail, at least semi-mature drama. It's not perfect - felt a bit off at times with the setting, and the fanservice was kind of annoying, and know anybody's names yet, but all in all, it's off to great start. The next episode can't come soon enough!

Only one I'm looking forward to is Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse. But that's all I need~

YES! Totally gonna take advantage of this...expect the PS3 is in my bedroom. Right next to my computer. Hooked up to a smaller TV than my monitor. But still, someday I'll enjoy this.

Rune Factory and Monster Hunter Tri for recent ones. We're talking 8+ hours sessions with few, if any, breaks for the bathroom, or even eating. Of course, Pokemon's always been a big thing for me, too, and I really got into Final Fantasy XIII-2 back in March. Otherwise I haven't really been "addicted" to gaming since I was a little kid...
1258  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Zeboyd's made it big: Penny Arcade Episode 3 on: June 25, 2012, 05:41:09 PM
While I haven't played it yet, I'll admit it did at least sound sorta harsh. I'll find out soon enough whether or not I'll agree. The review was still positive, though, at least from what I got out of it.
1259  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Zeboyd's made it big: Penny Arcade Episode 3 on: June 25, 2012, 12:54:02 PM
Just read the review. Sounds like it's more like the previous games than it should be, with shallow gameplay but great writing and humor. I'll still get it, provided it's not more than 800 ms points, but I guess I gotta "keep my expectations in check."

I'd be happy with Pac-Man. I think Dig-Dug would be better, though.
