Geez, another one? And I've still yet to pick up Rorona and we've yet to get Totori. Man, I just can't keep up with this series. Oh well, I'll still keep an eye on it and hope it turns out well.

I tore through volumes 8 and 9 of 20th Century Boy yesterday. I guess the trains being so fucked up that I spent 2 1/2 hours on them helped. As always, great stuff. I will be sad when it gets to the point where I have to wait a few months for the next book to get released.

Well, it should still be a while. You still got 4 or 5 more volumes to read before you gotta wait for the next one.

Upstate New Yorkers:

Just discovered that Jay st. Games has 2 locations, one in Crossgates and one in the mall on Wolf Road (forgot the name) their stock is getting better and better, and they have this crazy sweet retro cart player that takes NES, SNES, and Genesis carts, plus 4 controller slots for each and 4 for their pwn controller. It's pretty awesome.

You're thinking of Colonie Center Mall, I just read it on their website. I just checked out their first location in Crossgates, place is a treasure trove. Well, maybe not a treasure trove, but it does have a lot of good stuff. Too bad I only brought $3.00 with me, but that still netted me Wipeout 64 (love that series), and I see they got Turok Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, which I'll be grabbing next time around...if they're still there.

Hopefully these guys last longer than Play 'n' Trade did. You remember that store? They had lots of good old games, but they went outta business before I had any old consoles.

Read Naruto ch 450 the other night. I hear it's getting close to its end, so I decided to pick it back up. I'll probably marathon it. That works best for me with shounen series. Once a week really kills my mood with manga, and then that gives me a week to think about how stupid a lot of characters are or how dumb the plot is getting.

I know what you mean, though that's why I'm comfortable watching One Piece once a week - since it's not really all that stupid anymore. Nothing to worry about.;)

Also Wasn't it Bleach that was nearing the end? While One piece still has 8 or 9 more years left in it?

Isn't that more of a reason to post here, to turn us on to stuff we've never heard of?

I guess, but I get the feeling like people ignore my posts if they haven't heard of what I'm posting about.

I might have to look into Deathnote again someday. I quit somewhere near the middle, but if the endings worth it...

Also, I just don't post here because I don't watch things you guys have heard of. But what the hell, here's what I've been up to lately:

Recently finished:

Armitage III - This one was alright. I really dig cyberpunk so this was right up my alley. With that said, the plot wasn't too special, though it did have its moments. I felt 4 episodes was just right for it. Any longer and it would've overstayed its welcome. As for the ending...I liked it. I was warned beforehand that the ending sucked, but I felt it was fitting, even if it did cut off a bit during the final battle and could've gone a bit farther with some of the stuff it was setting up. I'm actually looking forward to watching Poly-Matrix when I get a chance.

Detonator Orgun - And I can finally say my lucky streak is over. This was a major pain to get through, not so much because it was terrible, but mostly because it was painfully average. The story was stupid, made worse by some poor voice acting. The mech designs on the other hand, were pretty cool (it's nice to see some competent human weapons for a change) and the action was decent, to say the least. Overall, it was an Okay watch, but the stupid story made it difficult to hold my attention.

Giant Robo: GinRei Specials - I liked this one. While I wished they'd give more backround info, they did a good job of entertaining and feeling like part of a bigger overall plot much like the main Giant Robo episodes, especially episode 3, even though it was kinda generic Western shinnanigans, I love that kinda stuff. Episode 2 had too many gags, but overall it was fun. Episode 1 was a bit boring but gave the most backround info, which liked. Of course, I'm sure none of it was canon unfortunately. I honestly wish there was more to Giant Robo, like prequels and stuff, since I feel like I'm missing out on something. Unfortunately the GinRei specials really didn't help in that regard. Not that I should've expected them to. I guess I'll just have to watch GR: Giant Robo

Giant Robo - While each episode was long, and everybody having powers for no reason got to me, everything else about it was pretty good. The art, music, VA, and especially the story. The Ending in particular was dripping with delicious irony and I loved every minute of it! All in all, it wasn't great, but I did enjoy it quite a bit.

Mazinkaiser: Shitou! Ankoku Daishogun - While I wouldn't rate this one as highly as the last Mazinkaiser OVA, it was still great stuff. A lot darker, too, which I expected. Epic ending, too.

Mazinkaiser - yet another great watch. I especially loved the art in this one, it was very well done. I also thought the voice casting was perfect. In fact, everything about this show really clicked with me. The weakest part of course was the plot, but even then it was better than I expected and did a good job of building suspense, enhancing the action, and overall keeping things entertaining. I'll have to put this one on my faves list now.

Super Dimension Century Orguss 02 - I really wish the titular mecha had more screen time.:/ Other than that, though, I really have few complaints with this one. Great art direction, good music (especialy the opening theme), decent voice acting, and the story was great. I especially loved the characters, particularly Lt. Manning (if that is his name, I'm terrible with names). He was funny and spouted some of my favorite lines in the show. Now I just need to watch the original Orguss someday

Plastic Little - What a fun watch that was. Plenty of nudity, absurd action, and the best death of an evil emperor I've seen in a long time.

FLCL - I had previously watched it on Adult Swim, but I didn'y follow it closely until the end, I think, since that's te only part I recognized. Anyways, all in all, I'd say it was pretty good. The art, music, and voice acting were great, and while I don't usually go for Japanese comedies, this one was enjoyable and not overbearing. My only complaint really is that I found the story hard to follow. It didn't really hinder my enjoyment of it, but I honestly could not resummerize the story for you.

SDF Macross II: Lovers Again - I was warned beforehand that this wasn't very good, but I still gave it a chance. And all in all, it was decent. Nothing extrodinary, just "watchable", although it does require a high tolerance of bad voice acting. The timing was especially terrible, too, but that may have just been my stream. However, it was a battle to watch all the way through since my I just couldn't focus on it. Luckily I didn't buy it with my own money - I had some credit on Amazon, they had nothing else worth getting.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - I must say that it's yet another major hit. Great art and animation, more great music, and style to spare, with a wobderful cast of endearing characters that grew on me instantly. The story was pretty interesting, too, though poorly paced. It felt like it should've been twice as long as it was to build up more mystery and suspense. That's my only gripe with the series, though. Otherwise, it's pretty great.

Oh, and I like how I kinda got that symbolism and **** in this show. Even if it was kinda obvious and explained more than half the time, it still made me feel smart for some reason.

What I've been watching Lately:

Gaiking: The Legend of Daiku-Maryu ep. 1-6 - I think I'm in love again! :D Though I'll have to continue this again later. Ooh, and I guessed all the fortune telling cards right! Awesome! :)

Super Beast Machine Dancougar ep. 4 - Now I remember why I thought it was the best Super Robot show ever when I first started watching it. I like the relatively intricate storyline and the way it's all excecuted. And I like that the military isn't completely useless.

I'm also watching Gundam Unicorn, Fractale, and One Piece when new episodes show up. And I plan to start Iria very soon.

I already have it on the PS2, but I'm sure I'll get the HD version soon enough.

Testing the waters in Vagrant Story. I'm about an hour in and it's been going well. I think I'm starting to get a handle on the combat and controls.

I certainly hope it goes through this time.

Caught some more clone wars. I think it would be more enjoyable if I actually was a Star Wars fan. As it stands, it's really struggling to hold my attention.
1346  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Worst RPGS on: February 28, 2011, 08:57:55 PM
I'm feeling lazy tonight. The worst game I played was SaGa Frontier, but I actually liked it, so my vote's going to Valkyrie Profile, which I didn't like at all.
1347  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Killzone 3 on: February 28, 2011, 04:27:29 PM
Something about this game really appeals to me, although I generally dislike Shooters. When I get a PS3, I'll be sure to check out the demo and see if it really is worth getting.

Played some Streets of Rage on the Ultimate Genesis Collection, mostly with my Bro. Got to Round 6 before my bro accidently Game-overed.

Also played some Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. It was fun, but I played as a boring character (PT-40X or something like that, one of the big guys).
1349  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: February 28, 2011, 10:24:01 AM
RED (2010) - Decent movie, though the plot was a little too predictable. Lots of humor, nice action, good acting, not much else that I need from an action comedy flick.
1350  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Radiant Historia on: February 26, 2011, 11:37:07 PM
Gah, I feel so slow. I'm still at the two hour mark and I picked it up at launch. I like it, I just don't play games like I used to.
