Guilty Gear 2
I just started playing it a few days ago and love it.
I personally like it better than DMC or Bayonetta.

Oooooh I keep forgetting about that game!=O I bet it's cheap, too, I should pick it up when I can.

As with Tooker and jj, I'm looking forward to Paper Mario and Kingdom Hearts 3D. But, deep down, I'm also hoping we'll get the Tales of the Abyss port/remake/whatever. Oh, and Shin Megami Tensei and Etrian Odyssey!

Ridge Racer's way, way easier to localize and is (or at least was) an easier sell here. Personally I'm mostly disheartened that it seems to be some sort of "Let's jump on the bandwagon Burnout started!" thing rather than keeping a unique identity.

Same here. I always respected the series for always being Ridge Racer and keeping the old Arcadey racing alive, for better or for worse. Now it just comes off as a shameless clone. :sigh:

Dead or Alive Paradise. That should keep you busy for the rest of your life. ;)

Perfect for the married man. =)

I don't do fighting games. Even fighting games with excessive boobage. I can just imagine the look on my wife's face.

It's not a fighting game, it's exhibitionism...okay, with some mini-games and sports themes.

Do you guys mind if I still hate Namdai though(the company as a whole not the folks)? :P

Why? They've done something great for us...

...Oh right. <_<

KZ3 seems to take it to another level though, variety is huge, there's the glaciar, the jungle and other environments, some are actually very bright in contrast to the almost constant darkness of the prequel.

I might give it a shot then once it's kinda cheap.

I skipped Dawn of a New World...and judging from the reaction, I'd say it was probably worth it.=P

i know next to nothing about 3DS other than its got 3D capabilities. will it not be backwards compatable?

Yeah, I know that much. You can even transfer your DSiware if you got any, which is nice.

I have both 999 and Ghost Trick and love them to death.

They don't have nearly the kind of devout following the Tales games do, though. So why are they so devoted?

Heck, if Growlanser fans were that stubborn, we might have gotten more than three games. :P

Because they love the gameplay?

More than that.  even if the story sucks, the world tends to be unique and usually filled to the brim (Eternia had two parallel worlds about to crash into each other.... that's awesome!).
THe characters are usually all enjoyable or have a few stand outs for interesting (Yuri having recently eaten the whole cake for that), and the game tries to have fun along the way.  Be it in light-hearted dialogue, skits, silly side-quests (and serious ones that further develop characters and parameters for ass-kicking), and generally likable back-story the RPG gamers have trouble doing without.
Gameplay becomes the other hot ticket, the game has numerous difficulty levels, valuable characters (I've noticed Banco balances them quite well), tons of shit to collect and interesting battle mechanics to throw in some twists to play.

C'est vrai?

Heheh, I guess I forgot about that part. ^_^; Not that I ever could've put it so eloquently. I'm not really a "devoted fan", and I don't think I ever really understood what it is I liked about the series outside of the gameplay. Actually, I think I have trouble understanding the appeal of a lot of games.

Uh, so anyways, thanks for putting that out there so we can all understand.^_^

If we're recommending non-RPGs, Resistance: Retribution and both Syphon Filters are great, and I think Wipeout Pure is one of the best racing games ever. I also second MM: Maverick Hunter X and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles.

even though i say that if they were announce like srw OG3 for 3ds my objections to paying that much for a handheld would vanish into thin air. but i wonder if this will turn out like DS were the best games for the syetm dont even require you to use the touch pad.

First off, if you want Super Robot Wars, you'll be paying way more than $250 for an imported 3DS (just saying).

I hope you're right on the second part, though - I would like it if the best 3DS games won't require 3D.

Gamer guys are everywhere, but it's hard to separate the ones who play a wide range of stuff, or just hit the common hitting FPS' all the time.

Yeah, those guys can be hard to find. Even a lot of my gamer RL friends just stick to the common stuff. It wasn't until my senior year of high school that I met a troupe of nerds with ecclectic tastes, but alas, it was a bit too late to build a lasting friendship, I'm afraid.

I'll second Dice's recommendations, and I'll throw in Half-Minute Hero.

^Lol

Well, Tales of Graces f was the one I wanted anyways, so I'm happy. I'll be sure to pre-order it, too, since it may very well be the last Tales of game we get.
