916  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army on: October 12, 2006, 09:09:38 PM
Well my main questions, for those who have played, is....hows the storyline, and how difficult or not difficult is it?

Any other info would be enjoyed as well.  And yeah, I like dubs, but only good ones, the speaking does add a little more flair, if done right, but if the story is good, it doesnt really matter.

For me, story is a big point...and if Devil Summoner is just pretty much fighting, with a meager story...kinda like Nocturne, then I probably wouldnt be interested.

Well let us all know how you like it.

Ill be deciding between either it, or TotA.  However the lack of voice acting does kinda stink for Devil Summoner...from the review I read.

Id like to know peoples opinions of this as well.  Legendia didnt look very interesting, but this one seems to have caught my eye moreso.

920  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / lol on: October 04, 2006, 09:30:29 AM
Yeah for me, im done with MMO's.  Nothing really strikes a fancy, not even Conan.

Maybe Warhammer...if its not a WoW clone...though Warcraft is technically a clone of Warhammer...*head hurts*

Im gonna stick to buying SP games, since theres a crapload I havnt gotten yet, and I need to play...not to mention ones that are coming out soon.
921  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on: October 04, 2006, 09:27:19 AM
I agree the Ein system is fairly meh in this one.  I would rather have had a small cast of developed characters, than the few you get, plus a bunch of "no name" Eins.

Anywho, im about..12-13 hours into it...at Crell Montrfriage (sp?)  So far ive been doing ok, probably not power leveling like I should be...but meh.   I did get lucky and got a item that gave 300,000 exp, which I gave to alicia, so she was 17 when everyone else was 7 and 6.

The Ein you get from each item is random, and picked from a few different ones...adds some replay I suppose

I did find it lame that all the sorcs were males, all the light fighters females, all the heavy fighters males, and all the archers females, in terms of Ein...kinda makes it a lil boring...well at least thats what its been for me so far.

Havnt really done much with the "crafting" system, ya know, gathering monster parts and stuff.  Just been using what I can buy, or what ive found.

And yeah...the Sealstones are cool...though some of the effects arnt really understandable..at least to me.  Like (Turns to Ice) or whatever, or (Turns to Fire)  what the hell does that mean?  lol.  Ill figure it out though...maybe im just being blind.

Anywho great game, and gorgeous.  Glad I picked it up.  I loved the first one, and this one is just as fun imo, though the character selection so far has been...not as varied as in the 1st.

Oh, and I have seen nothing about breakable items yet in my 12 hours of play, so...yep.
922  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Neverwinter Nights 2 on: September 27, 2006, 08:27:32 PM
Well, its not out quite yet, gotta wait till the end of october, since they pushed it out to fix some bugs *proof that LA made them rush KOTOR2*

Anywho, I love the first game, still have it and play it regularly, both online, and the various premiums.  Plan on getting the Wyvern Crown of Cormyr soon.  Horses..hurray!

Ive always been a DnD nut, but I find the PnP game to be somewhat of a pain, since my group only played like once a week, and I wanted more...plus pnp can get a bit..boring.  So this is like cake served with sex served with ice cream for me :P

Course, itll be a bit before any good RP worlds are up and running, but im excited anywho.

Anyone here preordering?  I plan to so I can get my hands on the Toolset, and mess around with it.  I never touched the original games, but I figure this time I might give it a shot, so I can help out a RP world I play in on NWN, Myth Drannor, build up their 2 server.

Ok, well im done rambling, anyone wanting to post thoughts, complaints, whatever about this, here is your thread, enjoy!.
923  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Cross-Realm PvP on: August 28, 2006, 01:13:13 AM
From what ive heard with Cross BG 6, times have been as little as 1 minute.   Seems to be running very, very smoothly.
924  The Rest / General Discussions / GameSpot speaks with 4 analysts on PS3. on: August 23, 2006, 02:01:36 AM
Amen Ryos, Amen.

I dont care what the price is.  I care what there is to play on it, plain and simple.  If all the good RPGs come out for PS3, ill just save up and buy it.  If not, then ill pick whichever does.  Of course, I dont singularly play RPGs, but they are the main factor of my counsel purchase.

927  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy III DS gameplay video! on: July 15, 2006, 03:05:48 PM
I think it looks perfectly fine.  Im ok with the retroness of the battle system.  And I find the graphics to be decently done.  I mean sure, your not gonna get PSP quality 3D, but the DS never will I think.  Frankly, I think this one will do fine as a 3D game, cause it looks like SE is doing a fine job.  I guess im not that much of a stickler for PS1 era 3D graphics, so long as they do it well.

Hopefully this will be an enjoyable title, DS FTW!!!
928  Media / Single-Player RPGs / This Fall/Winter is gonna suck....but is also awesome. on: July 14, 2006, 10:39:09 AM

Well at least they are adding some new stuff...still...it looked so fun :(

But ahh well, there is plenty to keep me occupied till 2007 haha ^^
929  Media / Single-Player RPGs / This Fall/Winter is gonna suck....but is also awesome. on: July 12, 2006, 11:04:49 PM
Well I was looking through gamestops PS2 RPG section, and Holy Crap....I was hoping maybe to buy a new system this year...but I guess not...granted, not all those release dates are set in stone, but I wouldnt doubt that a majority will be out by then...

Rogue Galaxy
Marvel Universe
.Hack GU
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2
Xenosaga III
Valkyrie Profile 2

and thats just to name a few...also Disgeae 2, Ar Tonelico..its like...GAHHH!!!

Im gonna be soo poor ><

So yeah...I dunno exactly what the point of htis post is...cept to...inform folks of the wave of stuff coming.  I guess....the point of the post is to see who else will be ending up uber poor...lol
930  The Rest / General Discussions / North Korea tests long range missle, five short range. on: July 11, 2006, 04:18:41 PM
Well North Korea anywho, I think South Korea is a little less...Kim Jong Il or however you say that little munchkins name.  Yeah, I how people are worried.  Like it was said above, theres a difference between a government testing missles, and a crazy lunatic dictator doing it.

And I agree for the most part about the US getting invoved only when it benefits or endagers them...but, isnt that a countries peragotive?  Protecting itself?  I mean...most other countries would do the same I think.  Its nice to think everyone only thinks about helping others (which the US still does even if it has ulterior motives) but there the survival instict, and greed, that still keep people thinking first and foremost about themselves.

Anywho...I dunno if a preemptive strike is necessary yet...but I guess all we can do is wait and see, and hope it doesnt turn out for the worst.
