887  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Maple Story... on: March 03, 2006, 02:25:00 PM
Played it for a short while early last year. It looks fun and it was at first, but really can get super tedious and its flooded with players all over the place so I barely get any kills.

Wild Arms 4:

Ive beaten it around 35 hours saying to screw it fighitng the optional bosses since I have terrible luck finding grow apples or other rare monsters with good exp. My characters are in their high 50's with the exeption of Raquel (<3) surpassing everyone by being in th elow 60's. The boss didnt give me a challenge, but it was still interesting how the fight went.

When I bought this sort of randomly, I had little confidence in how it would turn out cause 2 and 3 were no good to me. Despite it being flooded with cliches, I thought it was a lot of fun though not so typical Wild ARMs (which is probobly a good thing) and I grew some attachment to the main characters after all this time so I find them likable.

Suikoden III:

Finally made it to chapter 4 in about 40 hours. I chose Hugo to be my Flame champ because I grew to like the people of the Grasslands most of all. Screw snobby Zexens!  I did three war battles and I seriously underestimated Harmonia. They are real vicious.

890  The Rest / General Discussions / New Names on: March 02, 2006, 11:48:58 AM
Well people still dont know me that well enough (I think) so I left this name even if it lacks my usual weird creativity.

I can always pester the admins if I really want a name change :)
891  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy Potions on: March 02, 2006, 11:46:32 AM
I want some of that too.

I feel the ones who would really get the most kick of of this are the biggest hardcore FF fans who is obsessed with actual roleplaying.

Not that funny, but I am amused by the evil leg (yeah I say its evil)
893  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Favorite Anime on: March 02, 2006, 04:06:54 AM
Currently I felt Fruits Basket (yeah im sappy) and Hikaru No Go are my top anime. I just love them both to death.

Honorable mentions are the Kenshin OVAs (thought the TV series blows), X TV, Fushigi Yugi and GTO (<3 Onizuka)

Gankutsuou is also really awesome and really was a pleasent surprised when I decided to watch it one day.

895  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Question about FFT. on: March 02, 2006, 04:00:31 AM
FFT for the PSX is by far one of my most favorite SRPGs ever in my opinion. Though last time I played, I realized how complex the plot is (to me), but something about the gameplay that really makes me want to come back to it. I probobly beat it like six times or so by now (yeah im that crazy).

FFTA on the other hand seriously dissapointed me. I honestly thought the battles suck, laws can be annoying, team members other than the ones you start with really suck and a bit pointless ot use (maybe thats me on my part), lame music (there are gba tunes I find real catchy) and has one of the most brutally slow and boring oopenings I ever had to go through. Sorry for all that mean ranting about it, but that is how I personally feel.  Others may think im dead wrong, but I stand by my feelings.

I do not mind slow pacing in an SRPG and regular rpgs (as long as the exp is good and the fights are interesting), but something about FFTA pace sort of bugs me not to mention the opening as previously mentioned.

In short, I highly reconmend the original FFT and screw FFTA
896  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Game Oscars on: March 01, 2006, 02:09:49 PM
Im going to vote later on, but I wonder though if its proper to also put games from 2004. That was in the past now and many of those games shined in their own way so I think just include games from 2005 (and perhaps early 2006 too) to the awards, but that is just me. Up to you if you want 2004 games around, just a bit of a suggestion :)
897  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Mother 3 on: March 01, 2006, 02:03:33 PM

I seriously must be the only guy who after all these years still didnt beat Earthbound espite me playing it numberous times :(

Still only visited three sanctuaries...
898  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Completed RPGs of 2006 on: March 01, 2006, 01:25:12 PM
Right now I just beat Wild Arms 4 (details will be posted later in the game journal thread) and previously Baten Kaitos (I raped that poor final boss with my might).

Not sure what is my next priority.
899  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy XII on: February 28, 2006, 11:46:58 PM
I think it has potential though it did not really wow me so much yet, but I will give it a chance.

Edit: I was tired last night and I thought it said VII than XII so my bad for that. Shoot me later for this error :P
