16  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: PSone Classics PSN rpgs on: November 08, 2011, 06:39:38 PM
I really need to read up on why digitally distributed games are still region restricted. It makes no sense. The game is translated, on the PSN servers and ready for purchase. What sense does limiting it to NA make? I doubt Sony hates money, so I'm really curious what the actual problem is.

It's not region restricted, you just need to create an US account.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, didnt want to read through all the pages: Will Graces F and/or Xillia come to the US/EU? If so, when?
18  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Epic JRPGs for PS3/360 on: September 19, 2011, 08:59:58 PM

I already own FF XIII, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey and kinda liked them, but none of those felt as epic as the old PS1/PS2 games. Are there any other games on the current gen that I could try? How good are White Knight Chronicles, Last Remnant, Resonance of Fate or Star Ocean The Last Hope? Anything good coming in the near future?

I liked the gameplay of Vanquish quite a lot, but the setting was boring and all the levels looked the same. Story was shit too. I dropped Bayonetta after around 5 hours and then never picked it up again, perhaps I should give it another try.

And no, I cannot imagine your face when you see people wearing GoW shirts. Game's awesome.
20  Media / General Games / Best action adventures of this gen? on: May 20, 2011, 03:58:40 PM
So, I'm looking for good action adventures for my ps3 or 360. There should be a good story in them, not just pure action. Can also be first/third person shooters, if theyre good.

I loved: Uncharted 1 and 2, MGS 4.
I liked: GoW3, DMC4.
Meh: Bayonetta, Vanquish, Heavenly Sword.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a remake of lets say Terranigma or Secret of Evermore with HD graphics and modern gameplay?
21  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Xenogears worth it? on: April 10, 2011, 11:08:18 AM
I started TitS now and just finished the prologue. It's really fun.

Guess that game will take a while as I'm already 8 hours in and just reached chapter 1, but after that I most likely will go back and play Xenogears.
22  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Xenogears worth it? on: April 02, 2011, 08:35:17 PM
So, I just accidentaly deleted all my psp data. I was playing Xenogears at the moment and was something like 15 hours in (I was at that part in the kislev capital in the sewers). Is it worth it to play to that part all over again? Will the game get better than it was till that point? Dont get me wrong, I liked parts of the game, like the characters, the world itself and the storytelling. But the story was a bit confusing and the gameplay was kinda nonexistant. I normally finish most of the games I start (unless I really hate them alot). But I really don't feel like grinding through the first 15 hours of that game again, especially with the slow text. I also have Trails in the Sky ready to play, so what should I do?

Drop Xenogears completely and play TitS?
Play TitS now and start a new Xenogears game later?
Wait with TitS and start Xenogears again now?

Are the LoH games all related to each other? Or do they all have seperate stories?
24  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tactics Ogre on: March 13, 2011, 12:19:14 PM
Does it matter if I kill all the enemies or only the main object? Do I get more exp? Skillpoints? And when I kill enemies and do not get the loot during that fight, will it disappear or will I get it as spoils after the fight?

So what I'm trying to find out is, do I have to kill every enemy and pick up every item dropped or doesn't it matter?
25  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Co-op RPGs on: February 12, 2011, 07:40:53 AM

I'm looking for RPGs for 2 players. Complete co-op would be good, but only in fights like in the Tales games is good enough I guess. Platform doesn't matter,
26  Site Related & More / RPGFan: Site / Sort Reviews on: December 01, 2010, 11:00:04 AM

wouldn't it be cool if you could sort the reviews on the review page? Like, when you click on score the reviews will be shown from highest score to lowest score instead of alphabetical. No idea if this would be hard to implement, but it would be helpful to me at least.
27  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Linear and simple RPGs on: November 18, 2010, 07:02:08 PM
Eh, I already played through Tales of Vesperia and thought it was great, forgot to mention. I also own Valkyria Chronicles.

Yeah, handhelds are ok too, but atm I only own a PSP and I'm more interested in PS3/Xbox Games.

Grandia 2 is something I could like, I loved the first game back then! But I really want some great RPGs for the current gen :/
28  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Linear and simple RPGs on: November 18, 2010, 03:15:02 PM
I know many people hate linear RPGs nowadays, but for me its the exact opposite. I dont like choosing between different quests and searching stuff in wide open areas, I just want to go from town to worldmap, from worldmap to dungeon, from dungeon to town etc with cutscenes and storyparts inbetween! Though I do like exploring towns. I also like it simple when it comes to weapons/items/character lvling. There dont have to be 1000 ways to modify or create your own items and even more ways to skill your characters.

So, my question. Are there any JRPGs like this on the current gen consoles? I liked FF XIII a bit, but I kinda missed the towns and talking to NPCs and totally hated that modification stuff (way too complex) and the part with the missions in chapter 11.
29  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Handheld Must-Haves on: November 06, 2010, 03:40:51 PM

what are your favorite rpgs on the handhelds? Which one got the better rpgs, DS or PSP? I'm interested in some remakes too, but mainly complete new rpgs exclusively made for the handhelds.
